Really? Ok.
Or maybe when he's officially signed, sealed and delivered as on loan to us with the FA rather than by individuals on a football forum, even one as good as this“I'll talk about why we're looking to bring Madine in when the time is right."
Yes Chris and that time should be the day the Devil has to ice skate into work..
Wow ignore an entire response and pick one sentence because it suits an agenda?
Unreal ehOld agendas getting a good airing today. They can’t wait to come out of the cupboard
I agree with almost all of that. It is true that the majority of the team has had little competitive game time recently, and that they have not played together as a unit, so it was a risk. What will have hurt Wilder (and annoyed just about everyone) is not that they did not win, but that they never had a proper go, and played as if it was a pre-season friendly. The only aspect that really concerned me for the rest of the season is that we appear to have no cover at wing-back. Freeman's form has dipped unbelievably, and Johnson is not a defender (despite one excellent intervention in the second-half). Coutts, Cranie, Stearman, Dowell will be ok as cover with better players around them, and in a stadium that is not two-thirds empty. The backlash at Wilder on here is beyond ridiculous. We are third in the league and playing some of the most entertaining football we've seen. Against Barnet almost everyone on here has called for a changed starting 11. If you look at today's team they've almost been key players for us at some point.
Moore: 61 blades appearances, massive player in our promotion season..
Freeman: 105 blades appearances; including being one of the players of the season in league 1.
Cranie. very experienced pro played 100s of l1 And championship games
Stearman: ditto, and was first choice last season..
Bryan: one of very few gambles in the starting 11, highly rated young player
Johnson: not impressed in his short time at the lane, but Boro payed a few mill for him not long ago.
Coutts: His injury derailed us last season, that's how good he has been.
Lundstram: A debatable one, but played a lot of games for us already.
Dowell: England U21, really impressive first half of last season at championship level.
Clarke: Last season's top scorer
Washington: An experienced championship striker
So yeah Wilder has every right to expect that team to win. They have let him down, he's correct.
Sad thing is...not reallyUnreal eh
Did we win? Did we play well?
Of course it was the wrong team. You can't just throw 11 players together who have never played together before in a formation that some of them can't play in and expect it to work. It's not like we have a reserve side where they all play together regularly.
Some of them will be in the matchday squad no way round that at this stage. The first team doesn't really get weaker with 2or 3 brought into the team. Its when the key players are missing that the performance level drops,we know who they are.Wilder brought on 3 subs and they made a difference if they had started the match we would have won the tie. There was a lack of leadership out there with the three most experienced players the biggest culprits,I excuse Coutts to a degre as he is seeking match fitness but one or two others were dire. There’s no way any of the players should get the monk on after that bollocking. They have just lost to fucking Barnet and some of them will think they deserve to be in the match day squad.
And in so doing, further confirms he doesn’t actually walk on water !!And just so people know, wilder says it’s ok to boo players
I don’t agree with that. U23s isn’t comparable to National League. Premier League U23s is almost a non contact sport played by kids who get paid too much, the conference is full of men who have bills to pay and who know how to leave one on you.
I don’t consider today a waste of money. I bought a ticket. It cost only a fiver and I got 150 loyalty points for it. I didn’t go to the match - no intention of going. I went for a lovely walk and had a nice pub lunch and a couple of pints. It was a beautiful day for a walk y’know?
Playing u23s doesn’t get you fully match fit, games like today do. That’s why Wilder played Dowell, to give him match time.I wonder why Championship managers think signing a Premier League u23 Player is such an attractive deal when as you say u23s football is a non contact sport
Dowell has had more than enough minutes of football this season to perform today I am sure our trusted CW thought so.
And so he should be angry and pissed off, angry with his players but also himself - for making 10 changes, 2 or 3 would have been acceptable, but not 10. I for one value the FA Cup, and am completely embarrassed and fuming about today's result
It was a beautiful day for a walk y’know?
Certainly was yet a majority of our supporters today were wearing big winter jackets, gloves, scarves and to top it off a drop of Bovril
Sitting in a football stadium for 2 hours in winter but it was fairly mild today at 8 degrees so quite over the top I thought with the winter gear.
Is it just me or are more and more people becoming snowflakes these days?
No I think it’s made up. As it was a tenner and £1 for kids.Wow do people do this?!
No wonder the loyalty points system is shagged.
Wilder thinks that team was plenty good enough to go out there and win today but then afterwards says the only reason we’re 3rd in the league is because none of them players play for us week in week out. All Wilders words.
Wilder must take some of the blame for playing players who he more or less says himself aren’t good enough for the league we find ourself in, couple that with their match fitness levels and you’re not far off the same level as a conference team who do play competitive matches together, busting a gut because it means something to them to play in the 3rd round of the FA Cup.
We were outplayed and outthought, playing some players who quite clearly aren’t ready or can’t play in the position or system we currently deploy.
I bet Dowell is happy with his start, bollocking and losing to a conference bottom half team in his first game. How did the D:ream song go?!
Maybe in his own mindU R the Best Thing?
I used to love the fa cup as a kid, but it's been devalued for years now. The fact you have VAR at some games and not others sums it up.
Wilder was correct to change the team and was exactly the team I wanted him to pick. Those players have enough experience etc to beat Barnet. Yet like Wilder says they didn't turn up or stick to the game plan.
For all those moaning about the team selection, you would have also been moaning if he'd chosen the first 11 and we picked up injuries.
Promotion is the main goal and we need to do everything we can to try and acheive this. Our last 6 semi final games in cups have all resulted in defeat. Yet only on one of these occasions we were a top flight side.
If we were in Leicester's position I would be much more pissed off. That's the season over for them and realistically they had a chance of winning the trophy. Once we reach the premier League we can aim to win a cup.
So let's get behind the team and get promotion.

Fair enough, I’d have liked to have seen a mixture of first teamers, squad players and youngsters but that’s just my opinion. Some first teamers for the quality aspect, some squad players to build fitness, the only ones he intends to use from now on in and he knew who they were before he picked the team yesterday and some youngsters for the passion and to combat their eagerness and willingness to run all day.All the more reason for Wilder to play the 2nd string then, to give them more match day fitness. He's tried to keep a winning team together when possible and have minimal changes as all good managers would do. If you can't give the 2nd string a chance in the cup then when are they supposed to keep their match sharpness up?
Wilder did exactly the right thing yesterday 're team selection. It was the players attitude that let us all down, including CW. The only people who got it wrong were the players on the day. I sensed it after about 10 mins of the game as we were going through the motions and clearly didn't fancy it. Got what we deserved. Well the players did, us and CW didn't.

Exactly my point and this isn’t hindsight when I say this, I wouldn’t have been that bothered about the result as much if that was roughly the team.It probably doesn't keep as many of the 2nd string match sharp as the team selection allowed yesterday, but i agree with your sentiments. It's a fair shout. Probably a few pups playing for us would have helped the situation and a couple of the main men I.e. Sharp to give the lazy twats a kick up the arse before we went behind.
