Freeman was apparently outstanding
Brayford went because we wanted to freshen things up
needed to free up funds

Apparently Freeman can drive us forward. The same Freeman he transfer listed and doesn't want at the club?

He sounds like a man crumbling tbh and sounds like a man wrestling with telling the truth and towing the party line.

It is aimed at our fickle fans who seem to be ruling the roost at present!
Good job churchill and Co didn't flinch when the chips were down otherwise I and many more blades wouldn't be here ( I have used the war situation before in a post and I think it shows we have to stay strong and beleave we can come through. ).

Yeah, but Churchill was only in charge due to a change of management...

Freeman was the only player who got to the byline and actually picked out a man, and low and behold we scored from it.

I haven't heard his interview and travelling home separate from the players seems bizarre after only 4 games, but praising a player who's had a decent game isn't really crumbling.

I'm confused how people think running away from the problem for two days is good management or leadership.

The team is a mess and leaderless. The last thing you want to do is just abandon them after a bad game. (and I note no Sunday training)

If you can;t control your temper 4 games in you're going to have problems.
the first thing I'd want to do is abandon those wankers

This is the bit that caught my attention. Having to free up funds? We've not even spent all the Adams money yet. Have the board seriously only sanctioned the spending of circa £750k of the Adams money, then made him come and ask for the loan of Brayford to free up some more?

I wonder if the reason he didn't want to steam in. Was because he's already smashed enough tea cups on Tuesday. Even Alex ferguson knew he could give the hairdryer every time as it would lose its affect

Never did i think Oxford & Leicester B would be as huge as they are. I think as fans we have to into next 2 games fake some confidence because feeling sorry for ourselves & taking our frustration out on players wont help

Oxford Utd, fair enough. Leicester B, completely and utterly fucking meaningless.

We've still paying a large proportion of Brayford's wages and yet he can't play for us. That's what worries me. On the face of it, it seems like a desperate move.

Sounds to me like to he is a yes man, doing what he is told, making out as though we have as good a player in freeman and therefore good business for the club etc, no funds are really freed up if we are paying 2/3 of brayfords wages still.

Sorry, the crumbling was the general interview. He doesn't sound good.

Not sure if everyone has heard the full RS interview

I think his main frustration is how hard it has been to land the targets he wanted. I think that's why he's let Brayford go, to create more budget. His other frustration is the shit performances to date (although I think he thinks the side has played well in patches but not rammed home any advantages).

It looks like he'll force Long out the door although he says it's Long's decision. I think he'll gamble on Ramsdale's development as a no.2 keeper.

Praised Freeman as outstanding today, so it looks like he has a reprieve and is our new right back.

I hope he concentrates on a quality central midfielder, centre back and attacking wide man.

The jury's out on whether he really has signed quality players who so far aren't showing it.

The Oxford game is huge for us all: manager, players and fans.

Oxford Utd, fair enough. Leicester B, completely and utterly fucking meaningless.

as i said never did i think our next 2 games would be as big as they are but we are in no position to be choosy, we have to stop this rot & now if Leicester B gives us chance to get some confidence & back to back wins. before our 2 away games v gillingham & Wimbledon we have to grab any opportunity

Yes but the rest of what we are now not paying for Brayford can be spent on new players. We are desperate for a quality central midfield player and if he needs some more money to do that it could turn out for the best.

Of course it's a shambles and difficult to see how he sorts it all out but I would start with a good central midfield player.

Doesn't matter who is manager at Sheffield United there's always some one with a reason as to why he's not the right man.

For fuck sake who is the right man? We need to pick one and stick behind him despite faults. If Wilder is given the time he will build a squad capable of promotion, even if that means shipping out players that aren't up to it. Even his own signings.

Show me a manager that has never made a bad signing.

What we need is substantial financial backing from the board or a hell of a lot of time and patience. So which one is it McCabe?

He's reportedly on £7.5k. Even if it's higher than that it will not be much more than £10k. We're paying the majority of it. So that's about £3/4k saved.

We were told there was still money to spend before Che left. It's looking like this may not have been the full picture.

........ but its time to get down the Lane and support Wilder and the team, whether you rate Wilder or not.
I don't quite get these calls for us to get behind the players and * (insert name of past 5 managers).
Genuine question. Please explain how this works against say Southend. Do we cheer the team back to the center circle after the opposition have just scored their 1st, 2nd and 3rd goals. Applauded and cheer at half time and full time. Chant songs with agusto wave our flat caps and say well done good effort chaps go collect your wages in a wheelbarrow?
Even the announcer is running out of non embarrassing ways to say lets get behind the team when he wants to say to the players pull yer fingers out.
I just don't get what "get behind the team and players" means when we are BOTTOM OF DIVISION 3 and looking like footballs equivalent of the Labour Party.

OK, I'd like to think we aren't paying more than half of that. Some of that extra £3/4k added to whatever we've been offering Morsy, can we now land him ?

It could make a difference.

Maybe it's plugging the hole from paying players and management off?

Interesting Brayford didn't want to go and it sounds like it has been in discussion for a few weeks - no wonder his heart hasn't been in it. Wilder full of praise for Freeman and fair play if he's had a good game - he's had to have thick skin this year. He also makes comments about partnerships not working, I hope this means we have seen the last of Sharp / Clarke as a pair up front

Things can only get better UTB's

I know what you mean but I won't be losing any sleep over that match. I was expecting more changes to the line up today so would like to think Wilder will make them for EFL/EFT or whatever it's called to figure out our best side for the league?

Queueing up to buy a bottom of League One club...

No fucker's goin' to come in and rescue United.
This my friends, is what we have and what we have to live with.

Fuckin' bad enough havin' to bow to the Saudi and all that they stand for, now we're indebted to him for what he'll donate.

We've made our bed.

Agreed but if we stick with what we've got without even giving it a try then we will always get what we have been getting.

New ownership needed desperately, regardless.

You've not factored in paying the wages of another rightback which we need at least for cover.

If we can't afford the money for Morsy, then I'm not quite sure how we're going to afford this CB and pacey CF.

I'm sure Billy will be the next on the fire of Kev's asset stripping drive.

might be a good thing, lets have a look at jake wright, mcnulty, calvert lewin. see if these can provide a spark, but our situation changed its another game regardless of opposition to get a win

The supporters can but try.
But, try what?

There's no cohesion at the moment. It was often said on BM that "if we all stood as one, we'd soon clear KM out" ..
Lots of talk, but ultimately nothing. Just talk.

How many post on here and what's the ratio to the average home support figures?

We. the supporters won't attract new owners.
We'll just write more nonsense about how we need to clear out the owner(s) week in, week out.
Nothing is said when we win... only when we lose.

If McCabe's decision to sack a manager, that's his decision, the financial implications will have been taken into account and that should be treated completely independently. Player sales shouldn't be used to cover it.

Wilder proclaimed Freeman as outstanding today. I think he's our new right back.

I just don't get what "get behind the team and players" means when we are BOTTOM OF DIVISION 3 and looking like footballs equivalent of the Labour Party.

I knew that saying what I've said would annoy some fans and what I'm saying is we don't want the ironic cheers for when players don't make mistakes like what George Long received. We can turn up in numbers and back the team. Yes we do that most weeks but also we need to realise that we can't expect to win but we need to do our bit by cheering and chanting as opposed to expecting in silence and then booing when one down etc. Its all as a result of 6 years in this league etc, but it just lifts the opposition. I always love it when our fans chant straight after the opposition score as it jeers up our players and shows them that we don't just cheer when we're winning, which sadly doesn't happen much of late! Hope that makes sense mate?

Sorry can't even finish reading this thread but if anyone ever wonders how retarded some of our fans are just have a look at how questioning why are bottom of the 3rd division quickly turns into warnock is a wanker.
Best fans ever? Not a fuckin chance.

Wilder got Northampton going at home to Oxford last season at home and we have them next. He'll do it again this year hopefully
