Wilder wants to know what direction the club is going

Of course he does. Any employee would. I'm sure the guys in the ticket office and commercial department do too!

Question is what can they all do? Get on with the day job you're paid to do or find another role...

After thinking about his outburst on Friday, I think Wilder is playing a high stakes game. Realistically where could he go? As Chris Coleman is finding out, pick the wrong club and a blossoming career can end in 3 months... Most Championship clubs either have uncertain ownership or some crazy foreign consortium!

We're as luck to have him, as he's lucky to have us!!
Absolutely spot on it works both ways, he could end up at a club in much worse state than us, he needs to keep going to end of season then have PRIVATE talks with owners.

Honestly don’t think wilder will be here much longer. He’s ambitious, and unfortunately although I’m sure McCabe and the prince want the best for the club, they simply don’t the have resources to compete.
As soon as a premier league club comes calling he’ll be gone
No Premiership clubs will come calling for him.

Outside of BDTBL he will be thought of as a decent guy that's done well in the non league and lower divisions but he's never really achieved anything tangible.

Would be far too much of a risk for a Premiership club to take him on knowing that their fans would be completely underwhelmed at such an appointment.

Fortunately for us he's probably already got the best job he could realistically hope for unless he considers a move to the likes of Forest or Boro as career progression.

I think it's pretty obvious to me from things said in that interview that he hasn't so far

I'm a cynical optimist mate. Until I hear the worst I plough on in hope. Of course I'm aware that anything can happen, and that we're world class at pulling failure from the jaws of success.

We come so close and then.......well, we've heard this far too many times for anyone to realistically consider that somehow we'll make a real effort to push forward.

Now, if only Kev and the Prince could be persuaded to put aside whatever's causing this spat and give all of us - me, you, Wilder and Knill, and uncle Tom Cobley and all - the lead we've all hoped they were capable of delivering.

In this day and age, Investment, on the scale we are hoping for, usually comes with provisos. DOF, appointment of an exotic manager, more worryingly, players forced on managers etc. Whilst Wilder is down, thank goodness they have Billy in the camp. I suspect he is doing his best to keep player's hopes and desires on track.
I hope the potential of a Brooks' sale is not being used as a sweetener for a potential buyer.
Why I still love this club, when I am losing, have lost, my love of football in general, is because there is never a dull day on and off the field. It's better than any soap opera.
It's the hope that kills you, I say.

I may be wrong but I don't see it like that. I'd guess McCabe has sat down with him - he'll want Wilder because he'll lose the fans - but everything's still up in the air as to who's going to takeover.

Remember HRH has a DOF sat on the board....

You might be right, I was assuming his "what direction the club is going in" question meant he hadn't, but as you say probably all still up in the air.

Sorry for being repetitive but no PL would go near Wilder and i’ll put money on it.
He has no reputation or track record in big mans football. Hardly any experience in the Championship and no experience dealing with big name players, big contract, no experience of anything PL related.

However I do agree that in the lower divisions he’s hot property and can almost pick any club he wants in league 1 and league 2.

I reckon Wilder was given certain promises and knew he’d be given a realistic chance of competing.
Him and Knill will already be looking at players/ targets for next season but of course he needs some idea of our potential budget.

But now he’s aware of a power struggle and he’s no idea what will happen.
The future is now uncertain and Wilder just wants to the power struggle to be finalised soon.

A issue which is clear is that with Wilder being a Blade it’s a double edged sword.
He feels and enjoys the highs more but he also suffers and feels the losses move too.

Hardly any experience in the Championship but he showed he can get a team up to the top of it on limited funds, while playing an attractive cavalier style that's had Sky TV creaming their jeans to put us on! To imply his real level is lower league is unrealistic.

If either West Brom or Stoke get relegated and don't change manager before the season's end, then I would expect CW would be in the list of managers to speak to in the summer. The same goes for Villa and Boro, if they don't go up. I'm not suggesting that he'd be a shoe-in for any of the jobs, but I would suspect that they would all like to talk with him. Obviously, that's if we don't go up ourselves. :)

Slightly worrying times at the moment, and fingers crossed for a positive reaction tomorrow night.

I've got the letter requesting my attendance at the Copthorne on the 3rd March, but I won't be gracing them with my presence. Individually they leave me cold, collectively they'd make my piss itch.

Which one's do you think will come calling? Who was the last Championship manager with no Premier league experience to be poached and asked to step up?

Before that I think it was Poyet at Sunderland in 2013 & Sherwood at Villa in 2015 (although he had arsed about at Spurs before that in some caretaker role). I take your point though FB, it's a rarity.

I think Chris' comments are fair enough. The board has left him to work with peanuts - we didnt really sign any proven Championship quality (although Evans has shown some) in January to help us kick on.

So fair play to him for being honest.

The performance last Friday was as everyone has said was crap, one or two recent performances have been slightly disappointing at times with the exception of the villa game which we were unlucky to lose and that game was only a couple of weeks ago? So does anyone else think that after losing on Friday, the reaction is way over the top, we ain't gone from good to bad in one game, it'll be armagedon if we lose tomorrow

I don't think the Saudi is willing to put his hand in his pocket, and i think McCabe is far from the fall guy here.
I agree and although it might make me seem parochial ,then call me Mr Sitwell the parochial ,but I have never trusted or wanted the Prince from day 1 ,and I wish he would just fuck off.
If its the other way round ,then I fear the worse both short term and long term.

Premier league might be unlikely but an ambitious Championship club would be very likely.

It will revert to the same as it's always been - competing with the pigs for who's the least crap team in Sheffield. Fuck me, that's all it's been about for the past 40 years isn't it?
That's the very reason he is making waves he Doasnt want to resume what has happened previously when the opportunity to get out of championship is there !! tread water and lose our way again ,history repeating itself.!!
We have a blade in charge and he wants to kick on to the next level, which won't come cheap.

What has Wilder achieved to merit getting a gig at a PL club?

Take your Bladey glasses off and he's had half season in the Championship... He's not even on the radar of any PL clubs. If washed up guys like Pardew and Hodgson are ahead of him and Dyche isn't even interviewed for the Everton job based on his lack of experience at managing at the top end, what makes you think a PL is going to gamble its cash cow on a manager with 6 months Championship experience???

Just asking...

Prince wants to buy but wants it for nowt (£1). McCabe been trying to sell for at least 8 years, wants £30m, which is probably his money back + £1m

Our overall record since Coutts was injured is crap....I don’t think it’s just about the Hull match - albeit that was our worst performance.
