According to Andy Giddings.

Not sure whether to be concerned or not tbh.

It's certainly disappointing that after our best period for years more boardroom goings on seem to be starting to overshadow things.

Of course he does. Any employee would. I'm sure the guys in the ticket office and commercial department do too!

Question is what can they all do? Get on with the day job you're paid to do or find another role...

After thinking about his outburst on Friday, I think Wilder is playing a high stakes game. Realistically where could he go? As Chris Coleman is finding out, pick the wrong club and a blossoming career can end in 3 months... Most Championship clubs either have uncertain ownership or some crazy foreign consortium!

We're as luck to have him, as he's lucky to have us!!

Probably partly the reason for his outburst on Friday night.

Although when things are going good on the pitch then its not surprising for our board to be able to fuck it up for us.

direct quote or speculation?

Have to agree. I'd imagine the issue isn't actually where the club is going per se but who will come out on top in the boardroom. A prospective DOF on the board I understand is an issue for him. If there is any truth about one of the owners not wanting to put more money in, he's aware of who that was.

Even after a few days to consider, he's not changed his mind. Good. The performances for the majority on Friday were dismal. As he says, whatever formation he picks, he can't take into account players not being able to make basic passes.

He also seemed to scoff at some comments that had been made on here.

Gidds asked some good questions there and Wilder answered every one of them as honest as he could without letting something out that doesn’t need letting out at this moment in time, that’s all you can ask for really.

He seems a tad downhearted but it’s hard to pin why that is because it can’t just be because of one shite performance. Keep your chin up Wilder, you saved us gaffer.

Just finished listening to Wilder's interview. I can't see how anyone can complain about the points Wilder puts across - whatever formations etc, nothing can account for poor technique? If the players choose to forget basics, especially after the coaching staff have repeated the same necessary information that has taken the players this far, well I know where a finger of blame needs pointing.

In all of this, there's a resounding silence from the Prince, in fact there has been since he became a part owner. As far as PR goes, an improvement in this area would be something I'd expect from both owners, rather than the occasional pronouncement from KM. Partial information doesn't help us, the supporters. I'm trying to recall that we're talking in the shadow of one game's poor performance, but there seems to be a cloud hovering, one that needs to be shifted as soon as possible. Overall, the club's in good shape, but it's also clear that we're punching above our weight financially. Unless that is turned around, presumably by the Prince injecting substantial money for Wilder to wheel and deal with, or for someone new to come on board and do exactly the same, well this air of uncertainty will continue to exist until someone chooses to get a grip of the club and help the club move forward.

As always the headline makes things sounds more dramatic than the actual comments made.
Everyone wants to know what the hell is going on up top.

Friday has hurt him a heck of a lot. But Friday’s performance hadn’t ‘been coming’ like some off days usually are. We’ve just won 2 on the spin and played some good stuff and deserved the wins. Then all of a sudden we can’t string 2 passes together??? Why? What’s happened since last Saturday to make that performance so bad??

He wants to know what direction we’re going in - we all do. But if it’s him asking the question, my spider sense tells me that’s not positive.

Just in the car now and we can’t help thinking that the board wants promotion on peanuts and this can’t be achieved. This manager is the best thing to happen to this club. The board have to stop thinking his loyalty will keep him here. He’s ambitious. He’s driven. He wants to win things. Stop taking him for granted and saying “here’s some cash, spend it wisely”. Start saying “here’s some cash, do the business”.

If there’s a bit of a power struggle at the top, the politics needs to be kept private and away from football matters as well as it can.

There's parallels in this season with Harry's team in 1990 on and off the field but sadly the one difference being that we were 2nd then and now we're 8th. However, Harry used to have a well chosen outburst and it had the desired effect. Wilder's attitude today reflects that nothing has changed from Friday but he';ll be obviously more up beat if we win tomorrow night and I think we'll certainly be improved from Friday. The players will be equally miffed with their performance and as players they'll be hurt from Friday's comments from Wilder but you always see it from a players point of view as a player - obviously - but they'll get why Wilder was pissed off and want to put it right for their fellow players over anything else.

Off the pitch we had the Sam Hashimi affair in 1990 and we still got promoted then. I think we'll win tomorrow to be honest and the whole atmosphere will be better and we'll push for the play offs still. Friday's results could actually be turning point but we need Brooks fit and that remains a constant frustration.

I also remember when Blackpool got promoted in the play offs, we beat them comfortably at the Lane in about late February and you would have thought that we would make the play offs not Blackpool but it was Blackpool who rallied from then on, to get into the play offs and then win them. I don't see why we can't start a great run from tomorrow on wards. Our recent form hasn't being poor either.

Pretty grim interview ending with Wilder saying he doesn't know whether the board have spoken to Spurs about Brooks.
If the club want rid of the manager, they're going the right way about it.

As soon as the ownership tug o war came out in to the open this was likely going to be an issue.

Ideally it is sorted quickly and smoothly.

But this being SUFC it will likely still be dragging on in December.

By which time Wilder will probably have West Brom or Palace in the Championship automatic promotion places.

Since this new boardroom struggle raised its ugly head, the biggest concern for me has to be the future of Chris Wilder who i think at the moment is the clubs biggest asset.

At the minute was is happening seems to be to be as clear as mud, with the matched investment it seems like one party isn't willing to match the others investment, meaning that the funding of the first team is suffering, and it is not a situation that can go indefinitely as i can see the moment coming where Wilder walks and we are left with another poor managerial choice and enter a new spell in the wilderness.

I think the shareholders meeting on saturday will be of critical importance, as i think that McCabe will put his cards on the table and put his point across, the silence coming from the Saudi at the minute is deafening.

The way i see it is that McCabe has grown tired of the lack of interest coming from the Saudi, and is calling him out and i'd be surprised if he doesn't have other investors primed and ready to come in to the replace Abdullah.

Honestly don’t think wilder will be here much longer. He’s ambitious, and unfortunately although I’m sure McCabe and the prince want the best for the club, they simply don’t the have resources to compete.
As soon as a premier league club comes calling he’ll be gone

I've said this all along, McCabe and the Prince have seen what Wilder has done with some money spent in the summer & JTW. Why the bloody hell would they then throw bags of money at Wilder when they can send a few quid his way and say "you got us this far with x amount, here's a little more, go for it". We'll never push the boat out while KM is at the club, I'm not wanting us to go gung-ho but we've seen what we can do and we know we need to strengthen. If this does not happen in the summer I really do think it would be more a relegation scrap rather than pushing on from this season.

We are all expecting a performance tomorrow night, the problem is that Reading supporters/management expect a performance from there team as well - dread to think what it will be like on here if we lose - and without any kind of improvement on last Friday.

Fingers crossed - UTB

I understand why a heady steam of reluctant acceptance seems to be growing, but I also wonder if some of us are allowing the after effects of one poor result to spiral out of control?

Of course Wilder is pissed, he's done wonders in the time he's been our manager. With all due respects to some of our players, Wilder is the single most important member of staff at the club, so woe betide the Board if a lack of transparency results in Wilder heading for the exit door? I would hope that McCabe has sat down with Chris and cleared the air, and if not by now, sometime this week. We're in the best position we've been in for ages, yet somehow we're confronted with doom and gloom. I mentioned in a previous post the absence of the Prince, and the silence that emanates from the Prince's corner is deafening. I'd love to know his intentions, but can anyone get him to come out with an unabridged, full-on, set of intentions for this club? Personally I doubt it, and if that's the case we have a part owner who considers silence as being far more useful than actually letting the supporters know what he intends to do in enabling us to achieve promotion.

I hope that between KM, the Prince, and Chris Wilder, we'll see something close to a harmonious return to singing from the same page. It would be tragic if, having done so well in our first season back in the Championship, we allowed shoddy communication to become our norm. That way spells decline, and most of us won't need reminding what that felt like.
