Hull City, what a joke club they are, what did they expect Phelan to do with that squad, a half full stadium and an owner who knows jack shit about football?

I hope and pray that they appoint Alan Pardew, he'd be a perfect fit :D
I know where you are coming from but it would only make the twat richer when they sack him Ignore him

I can't see Chris being remotely interested at this time but that's not to say he won't be tempted away by someone once he has achieved some degree of success with us. As said by some others above I don't think we can take anything for granted just because he is a suporter, eventually our time together will plateu out and it will be time for us to part ways. Personally I think he will get us comfortably set in the Championship and then whether it's down to wanting a change or perhaps that the board can't / won't provide him with the backing to kick on to the next level, then he will consider moving on. I wouldn't begrudge him in the slightest if he leaves us in a better position than we are now.

It will go something like this...

Hull: "Mr McCabe, can we have permission to speak to your manager please?"
KM: Fuck Off.

Or alternatively....

Hull: We'll give you shit loads of money if you let us speak to Wilder"
KM: Very well then, but it may not be much use.
Hull: Hello Mr. Wil...
CW: Fuck Off.

Why should he want to leave for a club that could still retain it's Premiership status and even if they do get relegated will have a shed load of parachute payments to bounce staight back. In addition his own salary will increase many times.

After all he can stay with us, get promoted then match the club's ambitions and enjoy several years of consolidation in the Championship.

It's a no brainer.

Rumours flying round that Hull City are going to come in for Wilder. Can't see it happening though... thoughts?

Hull is the city of culture though isn't it? That's going to be a big temptation for anyone who likes fishwives and cream coloured telephone boxes. I don't think this applies to Chris though.

You have to hope that Chris has a long term plan and promoting the club he supports is more important than a short term financial gain. There was an idiot Dingle on radio Sheffield earlier talking about Billy Sharp as a replacement for Winnal, they don't seem to understand, for those two there is a chance to achieve something really special that is bigger than money.

The futures bright as long as nobody mentions the word compensation to our Kevin, and then "Hey, I couldn't stand in thier way"!

I think some fans dismiss these rumours out of fear. I recently heard Rob Staton on the radio saying "there is no chance" Fernando Foresteiri will leave Wednesday in the JTW. Just a pointless stupid thing to say. Of course he could leave. If a premier league club came in for one of our players we would struggle to hold onto him. If a premier league club came in for our manager and offered him quadruple wages, we would struggle to hold onto him.

Any chance of a source for these rumours?

It's a bit like the ugly girl who's fancied your fella and thinks all she has to do is flash her continent-saving tits to make an impression.
has that happened to you a lot?

Was rob crying hysterically ?

I've also seen tweets suggesting that Hull are indeed interested but none are from credible sources (if there is such a thing on Twitter).

I agree the club shouldn't assume CW will be immune to temptation from other clubs higher up the pyramid due to him being a Blade (although I'd be surprised if his head was turned by Hull) and it may be an opportune time to reward him with an improved contact (he's currently on a decent L1 level salary (but less than both Clough and Adkins), or at very least agree much improved terms now should he manage to achieve promotion this season if that's not been done already.

Chris Wilder is doing a brilliant job for us, but I very much doubt that a club, in the Premier league, with foreign owners, would be looking to a Manager of a third tier club, albeit one that is top of the table. Expect someone from abroad to be arriving at Hull in the not to distant future.

Yeah, the P&O Ferry at half eight

Yeah, 'cos that happens all the time. Hull - 15k crowds in the PL and all - will go down and stay down. They won't be able to match the crowds, finance and ambition of half a dozen clubs already in the Championship. The PL is a ruthess bear pit. It's only 3 months ago that everybody was urging Hull to 'set Phelan on permanently'. Now he's gone. Chris doesn't have to go anywhere at this stage of his career - unlike chancers like Adkins who only have a few opportunities left to pull the wool over a chairman's eyes.

Can't see Wilder fancying a move to Hull at all....however, SUFC will have to get used to him being linked to a lot of positions as our success continues....if a top drawer Championship job came up, (Newcastle, Village, Norwich) than we may have a fight on our hands. If we get promoted and start well next year then it will be Premier League clubs..

Let's just hope the powers that be put everything they possibly can in place to secure his services long-term.

I would hope that Chris Wilder and Alan Knill are the highest earners at Bramall Lane, if not they should be, Kevin.
I think Wider is dedicated to the job at Utd and wouldn't be easily lured away, whilst ever he has the support and backing of the board. If he sticks around, I believe we will be back in the Premier League in the next three years ;)
