Much better tonight after a shocking start.
Ditched some of the flowery stuff, prepared to play two mobile lumps up front and go long as and when necessary and got a deserved result.
Good stuff from Wilder who had a plan and an organised set up to deal with our depleted resources.

Good summary there mate, careful though, some precious fuckers on here hate any reference to the fact that the dreaded "long ball" (although Inagree it got us out of the shit tonight) could have any part in Wilders beautiful Brave New World !!

Most astute manager we've had in recent times, who's tactical decisions have won far more points than have been lost, playing some of the best football most of us can remember, and even after a(nother) good performance there's criticism.

I feel like banging my head on the table sometimes when I read this forum. Give it a rest!

Wilder's very tactically astute (happily covering it up under a lot of "we run around a lot" type of stuff).

Very interesting seeing in that second half Duffy playing a "false 9" sort of role with Clarke and Donaldo slotting in either side. We looked really solid, & had a threat countering too.

Totally agree, although I'm still not sure what Duffy's role was?

Good to see us have a 'different' tactic, even better to see it come off!

Sadly the game was tailor made for Brooks to come off the bench and win it...

Great members name.

Eh?

Last season when teams had kinda worked us out wilder had the Hanson card to play. Sort of paid off that imo.
With coutts and now fleck out we gotta change it up again and go a little.more direct, sort of did that today. Unless you were watching a different match.

Ah so that is a question?

I'm just glad Pedro's Winger and others from the Internet know so very much more about tactics than one of the recently most successful managers in the country.

We truly are blessed.

Fuck me.

Agree ++

Can we all agree not to question/have any more posts on the ability of Sir Chris ??

You would think that the OP would be more concerned with his own manager and the dreadful run of form of his team, rather than trying to patronise our manager

It was suggested we needed to be prepared to go long as a way of dealing without Coutts and Fleck and play less of our normal game to get results for the timebeing.
To me it was a bit of common sense and something that Wilder recognised himself.
Don't think it's the way he'll want to play long term but for a needs must period of time - or in particular games when it's called for whenever - it's good to see there is potentially another option in the locker.

Strange a Pig worrying about our manager, when they don't have one
