2-1 at HT and the teams came back out with Carruthers in midfield, first thought it was a swap for Duffy who had took a couple of whacks first half, then realised it was JOC that had gone off. Going 4-4-2 did not work work one bit, Mendez went past the exposed Lafferty a couple of times and caused loads of bother with balls into the centre before they equalised. Almost straight away Wilder brought EEL on and set back up with the usual formation, albeit it Duffy pushing up with Sharp. For me if EEL was a straight swap at HT we wouldn't have conceded that 2nd goal.

Rare error?, onto Oxford Tuesday but today grates me as it was 2 points dropped, not a point gained.

I predicted this at HT. the personnel we have really do not suit 442 at all.

Disagree with your last comment though, def a point gained for me especially with Bolton drawing.

Maybe..........he hasn't got much wrong though this season. He did as he felt best for the team - maybe it wasn't the best but I have faith in what he does. No manager can make the right call every time. Also, let's not forget that Mendez Laing had an outstanding match - both halves.

Disagree back mate, 2-0 up should have been enough, the HT sub gave them the lift.

I take your point. It wasn't the only deciding factor in the game though. We weren't playing as well as we know we can and wilder obviously felt he needed to try something different.

Thought Rochdale played well and deserved a point, so overall for me a fair result and point gained for both sides.

TBH first half i thought it was McGahey on the overlap that caused most danger, but when Lafferty gets beat JOC is always there to mop up, that's why I felt the HT sub was strange.

I presumed that JOC had a knock when i heard on the radio, but swapping JOC for Samir when EEL was on the bench suggests that it was tactical

Whilst I think an extent, I also think that it would be disrespectful to Keith Hill if we solely blamed Wilder.

It is hard not to admire Hill.....A traditional gaffer who is able to build "footballing" teams on a very limited budget. I personally think he did his homework today and a point is a reward for this.

He could have parked a bus.....But instead he set his team up in a 3-5-2 formation with the view of going toe to toe with us!

Made one fundamental error that got him nailed up to a cross.

And he wasn't also god, that was Tony Currie.

I thought that was Keith Edwards?

Saw it spray painted on the kop wall circa 1982

Caruthers has shown so far he's an excellent player when he comes on when we are dominating a game or it's almost already won... Not so sure he's as effective in the trenches.

chris doesn't make errors , some players do
if we draw away at a team that beat both bolton and scunthorpe at home , we dont have to find a scapegoat
we have to realise draws happen

real madrid drew 3-3 with villareal this week
I admit we are as bad as them

When I saw CW had gone 4-4-2 and what he'd done with the substitutions, I looked at that spine Basham-Wright at cb and Fleck-Coutts cm and thought that's physically not strong enough. I think when we go 3-5-2 it works as the defence (i think JOC-Wright-EEL is our strongest back 3) and having the extra body in centre mid makes up for our lack of bite in midfield. Today I thought we were exposed physically by the half time changes. I know Basham is playing well but to me the defence looks stronger as a unit with a 3 of JOC-Wright-EEL.

A draw away from home..never a bad thing....on to Oxford..I'll be well happy with a point there

in the end it was another point away from promotion, we were exposed at times yes but that pitch wasn't the best either

If he made an error it was not giving the extra back up for Lafferty after seeing the success of NML in the first half. I said in shoutbox at half time that I was more nervous about our defence in this game than any recently.

Rochdale are one of those teams who cam go toe to toe with anyone in this league, especially at Spotland. Not surprised they got a draw but disappointed it came from us being 2-0 up.
