In regards to Wilder saying we were "excellent"... we really weren't. As much as it was infuriating watching a team like Norwich win the game with a cynical and almost embarrassing mindset, we did absolutely nothing to deserve anything from the game. Defence and midfield for the most part were too slow and tepid in possession, making it easy for Norwich. It's hard to think that Norwich deserved anything from the game for the way they went about their business, but in reality they had the quality to score and we didn't. For the most part we were so sloppy and pedestrian, resulting in a tempo much much slower than we're usually used to. It was easy for Norwich all game I felt. Throughout it was obvious to see how nasty Norwich were set up to play but it was simple for them once they scored. We didn't look up for it today from the start. Our refusal to shoot when in good positions was so frustrating. It's worrying that without Sharp we look very toothless. I dread the idea of facing the pigs with the strike force we had today... with that level of performance I could see us getting battered by the porcine cunts across the city, as much as I hate to admit I think it. Fingers crossed this was a one-off. I'm probably in the minority but we weren't good enough overall, and we'll face much more difficult opponents than Norwich, and teams like Millwall, Bolton, Burton etc will look to do exactly what Norwich did today, and we can't simply rely on officials to save us from losing. Players need a big kick up the arse for the derby, our season will be totally fine as on our day we're better than a lot of teams, I just really don't want to lose to that lot.

You know you are in the minority because you've posted bollocks

We were far from excellent in the first half but I thought we improved in the second half. As you say we can be very slow and pedestrian at times which is annoying as it allows their entire team to track back.

And yet there are some on here who think that the way Norwich, their manager and their goaly behaved is "football, get used to it, it's what we would do, if our 'keeper behaves like that we love it..." etc etc if you read some of the threads this evening.

Everyone should listen to this, although I do disagree with Chris on one point - I thought the referee was diabolical today, his two linesmen equally so. If it was a difficult day for him, he went a long way to making it so, especially by not booking their cunt of a goaly.

You know, I really detest coming on here when we've won and some posters are trying to tell me that I haven't had a good time, and then on days like today when I am livid with their manager, their 'keeper, their team, and the worst set of officials I've seen since Reilly and cohorts at Upton Park in 2006, I read a load of sanctimonious claptrap about how much better than us Norwich were and how they were professional about it. Were. They. Fuck.

Then you must live in a vacuum because teams have been throwing in performances like Norwich today all my life, ourselves included many times.

You don't have to like It, neither do I, but it is football.

If we go to the Sty next week and do the same (unlikely I know) you won't complain.

Best post of today. I hate the sanctimonious cunts droning on about get used to it, it's all in the game, we do it etc. Get fucked.

Where have you been for decades then?

It happens every season in every league.

I guarantee you won't have moaned when we've done it down the years.

It's just football fan hypocrisy.

Which part of it was bollocks then? How many shots did their keeper actually have to save? Let's face it we could still be playing now and not have scored.
The loss of Billy today was very worrying; the side looked absolutely lost when they got to the final third - Brooks needs more guidance through games and Evans offers no movement whatsoever.

Of course I don't live in a vacuum. Yesterday Norwich's actions were exceptional. I've seen us turn in attritional performances over the decades and come away with smash-and-grab wins, and there have been times when I've been a tad embarrassed by our antics, but I can't think of any occasion where our goalkeeper has acted like a dick to the extent where a teammate is so agitated he has to rush over and tell him to get the fuck on with it.

Besides, anyone who was in the vicinity of my seat yesterday will tell you that most of my ire was aimed at the ref.

Until the rule makers clamp down on the gamesmanship side of football it will continue to happen.

I couldn't careless if we go 1-0 up from a penalty which was a blatant dive and wind the pigs up with far worse tactics that Norwich and win the match. In fact I'd be absolutely delighted!

The rules are what they are, push the rules to the limit in order to gain an advantage I say. Other will do it to us, so what does fair play and good sportsmanship get you? Absolutely fuck all!

Just say which bit you disagree with and why you disagree please, dont stoop to the level of others on here saying others' opinions are bollocks.
We are not asking for referees to save us from losing we are asking them to do their job. we had more attempts than Norwich ,far more possession and if Brookes had put his one on one away we would have seen a totally different game. If it was easy for Norwich why did they resort to the worst tactics and cheating Ive seen from a club in several years ?

Blinkered, naysayer....listen to Mr Wilders interview....

The goalkeeping time wasting is one of the most frustrating things in football especially when it is taken to the extremes of yesterday. It is up to referees to take action to stop it. First time he has to ask the keeper to get on with it he has a word and tells him next time its a booking. After that it's a second yellow and off simple. He must have warned him at least half a dozen times yesterday without taking any action so he carried on doing it. Can accept referees make mistakes a and get decisions wrong but this is simply doing their job.

Still agree we probably wouldn't have scored anyway but would have come away just frustrated rather than angry.

There were two or three away keepers who time wasted just as much last season.

It grinds my gears but I've watched us do the same against teams like Arsenal.

Be annoyed fair enough but don't act like drama queens making out it's the worst cheating seen in decades. It's embarrassing. I see far worse in European football on tv every week.

Normally we would have still won that game choose what the opposition or the ref did, lets face it in front of goal we were dire,
Ched was slow but he put at least two balls across the front of their goal that only needed a touch to go in and nobody even tried for them !!!
It was screaming out for a poacher and we had no one on the field that could do that, what ever half chances came our way were ignored.
I'm not saying any one was at fault for this it's just been building up from day one with one injury after another and it's just unfortunate it was Done who went instead of Hanson.
What I am disappointed with is nothing was changed up front when it obviously wasn't working, we put some good balls in and even when players were getting on the end of them they never looked like scoring, we would have been as well off sticking someone in like CCV up front and just going for the high balls in for the last 15 minutes.
But that's football, situations change from match to match and next week it could just as easily go the other way.

Ah, one of the SHOOOOOOOOOOOOT lot regardless of situation and distance from goal.
Coutts 40 yards out on his left foot off balance with 3 opposition players in the way? SHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT

I don't watch European football for that very reason.

In my opinion, and many others on here it would seem, it was the worst cheating, play-acting and time-wasting I've seen in many a year, all topped off by the worst ref I've seen since Reilly at Upton Park.

I repeat, when has an opposition goalkeeper wound up his own teammate to the point where he tells him to get on with it?

One more thing; posts where we are told how we should be feeling really do grind my gears.

I'm not telling you how you should feel.

I'm saying I think the general attitude of those being the most outraged about yesterday are in many cases hypocritical, and certainly showing selective memory if they think it's the worst cheating in years.

I read one post that said it's the worst thing since Revie's Leeds. Sorry I find that laughable.

Fair enough, that was just the, er, feeling I got.

Indeed, Revie's Leeds is taking it too far. I'll go with Billy Davies's Forest.

But harsh saying we did absolutely nothing to deserve anything from the game.
We certainly didn't deserve to lose, and Norwich hardly created anything except the good finish for the Goal.
I agree with everything else you have said though.
