Pointless asking metal. He doesn't celebrate Bamford goals. (Leeds scum)Probably under the same stone that you've just emerged from. Where have YOU been the last few weeks?
Yes we have quite a few ex Leeds scum in the squad just now, strangely Bamford is the best of a bad bunch.Pointless asking metal. He doesn't celebrate Bamford goals. (Leeds scum)
I’ll ask it again do you think he’s been well supported by the board then?
Nothing will change your mind?Long term wilder is not the man.
Right now he is and nothing will change my mind unless someone suggests a better option.
No. Let's not because thats ridiculous, you and I are only 'punters' and don't have an inside track on who is or might become available.
Rosen said he respects Chris. Great. I should hope he does, given that he extended his contract, or was that a vote of confidence? And we know how that can end.
Interesting that since Alan Knill left we appear far more disorganised and are shipping shots/ goal threats at a dramatic rate in recent games.
The real power behind the throne perhaps?
It's a mess and looks desperate. Someone needs to grip it, fast, and I don't believe that our current coaching team can get the best from what's here. That second half was a shambles yesterday.
Tuesday is huge now, and Sunday looks that way too.
The pressure is already on.
MmmmWilder has brought in players just the wrong ones as you can see from the performances or lack of them .This baby sits with wilder and his coaching staff if they do any coaching apart from run to a cone and back . devoid anything around them, set plays are garbage. No structure. no one seems to know what they're doing .And so on .Wilder needs to be sacked tonight for me
Good points and well madeNorwich and Middlesbrough managed to replace managers very successfully last season, did they not? Two clubs who, like us, don’t have parachute payments but do have decent budgets for this league.
What is needed is for someone to commence the job of dismantling this well paid but godawful squad that currently looks like a combination of Frankenstein’s Monster and a Heath Robinson contraption that he knocked together when he was pissed.
I’m not a believer of polls, anyone can make that crap up. We are 2.5k down on bums on seats this season, kids are bored, die hard supporters around us are bored, people are wanting money back at the ticket office, next season will be a lot more painful unless changes happen.383 people voted out of a fan base of probably 40k, with 25-30k regularly going to games. For every fan who voted, 100 didn't.
Long term wilder is not the man.

Pep would have brought in players that could actually pass a ball and not blowing out of their arses after 30 minutes. There is nothing wrong with the owners,he’s been backed very well,it’s the way it’s been wasted and sanctioned.Said it before we shouldnt have gone back to wilder it right now under his current ownership Pep himself would be screwed
However , wilder doesn’t help himself with
A) players signed being all defensive
B) Lack of tactics
And Carrick?Boro were actually top two when Rob Edwards left them to go Wolves last season.
Good post mate. The fitness & conditioning issue is Wilders blindspot and undermines everything else we try to do, IMO.I don’t disagree with a lot of those points.
The remit for a new manager would be to steady the ship and nobody should be under any illusions this isn’t going to be anything else other than a long slog fighting relegation.
At the minute a lot of the issues we had last season still remain, fitness and conditioning, and we look defensively weak and swapping the coaching team around hasn’t worked.
I don’t think that that is solely down to the manager but I think the board selling and bringing in a lot of money through sales and not allowing us to adequately replace the players we sold is a massive part of that.
Depressing as it is, and I’m happy to be corrected but I don’t see who can come in and steady this ship
Nothing will change the mind of Ndiayewillalwaysloveyou he's one of the happy clapper Wilder cultNothing will change your mind?
What if the performances continue every week, like those we have seen this season so far?
We have seen no significant coaching, tactical awareness, in game changes, formation adjustments since last season, when Wilder said it would be different. The signings have been absolutely dreadful and wasted the few funds we had.
There are serious issues with the make up of the squad but a believe a competent manager could surely get more out of them? We would be better organised, more cohesive and not ran through every week. 60+ chances conceded in 3 games. That carries in, we are going down.
I think many are realising Wilder sadly is coming to the end. I thought he'd see this season out but now I am not sure. He is now talking about getting to the international break? What is going to change then? He has had all pre season.
As for 'unless anyone suggests anyone better.' Well there are thousands of top coaches round the world. Some we will have never heard of. Not all will be like Selles. Many Champ clubs (QPR, Swansea, Boro etc) find these coaches. We have to donthe same. Sadly many have a real fear of moving away from a Wilder/Hecky/Warnock local profile and due to Slav/Selles, feel forruners cant work here. Well, we may have been successful under those types but the game has moved on. Its about technique, pace, athleticism, power and good coaching. There is still a place for good characters and steady pros but as we have seen this week, if players are unfit/cant run, we will get steamrolled.
We need to look at a different approach. My only concern is our owners have shown no idea (no dof, no football people to help 'I'm only an accountant' Bettis (who seems to be untouchable- nice fella but presided over mistake after mistake in terms of recruitment, managerial changes, scouting structure) to make changes that will arrest things on and off the field.
Absolutely spot onSorry, but this and the whole “give me other names” take is simply ludicrous. How would we as a fan base have any steer on a list of names or their availability, to an extent to be in a position of offering the job?
If you have a shit member of staff at work, you fire them, then hire a replacement. You don’t go, well I assume there’s no one else able to do this job so let’s just stick as is and see if the decline somehow rights itself.
I had the same argument with a blade on the train en route to Derby away last season and it’s a poor excuse. This is what teams do, whether it works out or not is a different debate, but why would they continue with an option that is repeatedly proving to not be working.
CW is becoming so divisive, and making fans blind to the issues through his so called “pashun” and “getting the club”, but again like last season we’ve just been embarrassed by an average team at home, much like last season, and save the heroics of a loan player and keeper, would’ve been the same against Bolton, newly promoted, at home.
Yes, he’s had players sold, and some would argue the backing is minimal, but so what? Managers have these kind of situations all the time, that’s the point of being the manager. Need more staff? Sorry, we’ve no budget right now. Need certain tools? Sorry, our supplier is delayed.
Make do for now and work with what you’ve got.
Instead we’ve got a man at the heart of everything, getting nothing out of his players and dividing the fan base. The performances are shit, the attendances are dropping and we have a board backing him to deliver stability only ffs. All these pro-wilder points about his man management and budget squad building are a thing of the past, bouncing day for instance was 10 years ago now…
More results like yesterday and we’ll be in the shit quicker than you can say “he’s one of our own”.
I'm convinced that the events that led him to leaving the first time had a bigger psychological effect on him than we first thought, and it's still playing out.I don’t get when people say ‘Wilder is the best guy to get us through a relegation/lower half battle this season’
Wilder’s never been good with a struggling team? His record in relegation battles is terrible - has he ever won one? With us he’s lost two without even putting up a fight.
For all his talk about mental health being for lefties, Wilder himself is very mentally fragile when things go against him. He’s never really been able to turn around negative momentum or keep a team spirit going when his team loses a lot of games like a Big Sam could back in the day. He and his teams spiral into negativity, recriminations, blaming everyone - he makes it an unpleasant place to be a we’ve seen it all here before and can see where it’s going.
Even in the 92 point season I think his fragility was a lot to do with us turning a little wobble into a meltdown at the end of the season when it all went off the rails. More level headed managers can just re-set after things like that.
No, wilder is THE ONLY manager for the jobNorwich and Middlesbrough managed to replace managers very successfully last season, did they not? Two clubs who, like us, don’t have parachute payments but do have decent budgets for this league.
What is needed is for someone to commence the job of dismantling this well paid but godawful squad that currently looks like a combination of Frankenstein’s Monster and a Heath Robinson contraption that he knocked together when he was pissed.

Wilder's fingerprints must be removed from the club when he leaves. We’re back to the ‘outcomes vs trends’ arguments.
All of our performances this season have been worse than Selles’ games, only Selles got properly stitched up by a recruitment team still bitter about their mate getting sacked. There was zero patience from the wilder shaggers who weren’t interested in giving Selles time to try and get it right.
Suddenly, now it’s Wilder throwing in these horror shows, he’s the ‘only one’ that can do anything. Pathetic.
What needs to happen (but won’t)
- find a CEO with football club experience at a top tier league, look at Germany or Netherlands for someone wanting a career path to becoming a Premier League CEO.
- Move Bettis to CFO and have the commercial team report to him.
- Move Wilder to head of football operations/DOF and make him responsible for appointing a successor.
- hand out P45s for Hoyland, Allen & Scheiber
- go on the hunt for junior staff at Jamestown Analytics, BlueCo and CityGroup for employees looking for a more senior position and to make a name for themselves.
- Give Del Geary some more responsibility and development to really push the Academy into the next level without having to go Cat 1.
None of this is impossible, it’ll require some effort but it’s not difficult stuff and you hope someone with PE experience would be used to restructuring senior teams to drive efficiency.
