Wilder is in the running but stoke are talking to Luton town boss Nathan Jones and are apparently near to completing a deal for him. according to the media. Panic over!!. UTB

No need to panic....go on the Stoke forum and read their “next manager” threads

You’ll see that there’s virtually no talk and no interest amongst Stoke fans about getting Wilder.
Assume they either don’t rate him compared to a David Moyes or Sam Aladyce or they just don’t think he’s realistic.
Ive said this before but outside SU, fortunately for us, Wilder just isn’t sexy enough, his cv can’t compare to Moyes or Aladyce.

We all know in the early stages the bookies just put loads of names in the betting list to try and create interest.
And Allardyce and Moyes have achieved the thin end of fuck all in my book.
So we're all happy.

What could he do at Stoke, that he can’t do with us? Very much a sideways move. When Wilders done at the lane he’ll be in line for Southgates job.

We're a bigger club than Stoke. Their attendances before the prem were never great - though they have good loyal hardcore.. Pretty much anyone can get 25k plus in the prem. They will be lucky to get 12k in a few years. They're just a trumped up Hull.

Lucky for them and Bournemouth , Burnley etc that attendances don't matter so much these days.

Doubt Wilder will leave until the summer at which point he will go to a Champ club if the ownership isn't sorted.

Hate to say it, but we're not a bigger team than stoke, at least not at the minute.

Well he'd have had a better budget for a start...

Good news for us x2 & a strange appointment for them to be honest. I doubt he’ll see out 12 months at the club, which buys us some time with CW.

Although a championship side, Stoke still have premier league names on their books and they need a manager who commands respect at that level. Although not everyone’s cup of team a Sam Allardyce would’ve been a better short term fit.

Defo keren! But I'm not fussy, I wouldn't say no even now!
Amazing to think their ages are 57, 57 and 60 respectively!

I once snogged keren(repeatability) in the top rank(right innit)
Believe it or not The girls were supporting the Jam.
I remember talking with the girls then all of a sudden she was chewing on my tongue and having a bit of a squeeze.....lovely girl.x

Agree, I’m not impressed with Moyes or Alladyce either.

But the weird fashion these days, especially in the PL, Is to either appoint a famous name or appoint someone with a fancy sounding name. Both Moyes and Alladyce have managed massive clubs and are instantly recognisable.

Wilder is very unfashionable and fortunately for us many clubs AND their fans prefer a fashionable manager than a good manager.
Although Stoke have contradicted this by going for the even more unfashionable Jones.

Allardyce and, to an extent Moyes, have become toxic. Supporters want to see their team play like Man City or Liverpool, not blood and guts scrapping. Especially the ones that have a realistic hope of promotion. It’s not enough just to go up, if you’re Stoke, Villa, West Brom, etc you have to go up playing stylish football.

They need a club that has little chance of promotion, whose supporters would be glad to go up irrespective of how they played. Like the pigs.

Or they wait until a PL club is facing relegation and sack their manager....
