It is tomorrow. I thought I’d check.
Still no news.
Still tired. 🥱🥱🥱 Even more tired now.
As we didn’t hold a press conference does that mean the Leicester game will be called off?
The statement reads like it was Wilder who wanted out I wonder if Green hoops suit him?
Fuck of McBollox, your a disgrace amd one of the reasons he’s gone.
I thought McBurnie was a Rangers fan.
For CW to go to Celtic on that basis is really weird.

Such a sad end to the best time I have ever had as a Blade. It felt inevitable since the end of last year, but it is still hard to believe that he has gone. Best of luck Chris, I doubt we will ever see the like again, or for a very long time anyway.

Beyond that, it's hard to put into words how I feel about it, but I will say this, whatever has gone off behind the scenes, few of us will ever fully know and I doubt the Prince wanted it to end like this either.

So for me, both parties probably have a lot to answer for, but I am not really interested in recriminations, as it won't do us any good whatsoever. I just want us to move on as quickly as possible, and prepare for a strong season.

Most upsetting moment being a blade for me and I'm usually quite detached from it when we get relegated etc. Regardless of what's happened this season and what's happened with him and the board in the last few days, it's a nasty end to the best days I've had supporting this club. Cheers to some brilliant memories.

A generational manager for a club like ours, certainly the best in my 21yrs. Remember him in one of his first games chatting to me & mates behind dugouts at Sandy Lane while playing Handsworth, a quality character.

Dragged us out the hell of League 1, then PL after 2nd championship season giving us memories along the way.

That said, whoever joins up be it Heckingbottom, Tindall or anyone will have my full backing.

UTMFB.

Shit news, I’m hoping more details come out but I’m sure it’s all been NDA’d to the max.

At the moment I blame the club for the handling of Wilder, I need something to change my mind.

Sad seeing this as official, still held out hope. This is also a fairly poor statement, lacking the feeling and emotion Chris Wilder deserves.
It's a sad day indeed. However the statement contains a quotation from CW which is extremely rare in the "thanks for all you've done" statements clubs normally issue.

He's done a brilliant job. Not just what he did, but how we did it. The style, panache and front foot mentality was superb, and made the matches unmissable. We always turned up, and we ALWAYS went for the win.

He has suffered enormously from second season syndrome imo. Something he reassured us he was aware of. This season has been a disaster, but it says so much about the man, that despite the fact we have been poor for the majority of the season, and embarrassingly adrift at the foot of the table no one wanted him to go.

He's a legend in my eyes, and I'll miss him. I'll also miss the togetherness he brought, and it really felt like a "club" for once from top to bottom. I really hope we don't lose that. If he ever returns, he'll get a standing ovation from me.

GLTTL in whatever he does next.

Interested to see who follows him, and an interim situation until the end of the season makes perfect sense to me. There will be a lot of movement between now and the summer in managerial positions and we are wise to see what washes out. We are down anyway, so no point rushing into anything imo.

Chris Wilder has been responsible for the best period of being a Blade. Not just to finally take us out of League 1 but to do so playing such innovative and exciting football has been brilliant. There are memories none of us will ever forget. For that I, and I assume everyone else who supports the club, is eternally grateful.

This last season has not been pretty though, on and off the pitch, and he's hardly bathed himself in glory. Whilst it doesn't take away anything that's happened before, it hardly does him any favours.

As for what actually happened, I guess we'll never know with and NDA no doubt in the settlement. It seems clear that it's probably not one person's fault or another but something in between. It's pretty clear that PA and CW had different visions for the future.

Anyway, good luck to Chris in whatever he does next.

Now it's time to forget all this and support the club going forward. It has been a bad couple of days on top of a bad year.

Let's hope we can pick up a few points before the end of the season and get someone good in.

Did you hear Brian Deane on Sky - always be a legend in my eyes but no depth to his analysis and obvious was first person sky could get to comment. Was very telling when asked if board was also partly to blame and he basically said no. Methinks he is still looking to future match day ambassador employment with the club !

Why?

At least if he goes to Celtic he moves onto something bigger than ourselves, and we won't be hurt by seeing him in the opposition dugout any time soon.
Just depends on if Celtic tapped him up

On a positive note, I'll be glad to see the back of the tippy-tappy passing triangles round by the corner flags, while whichever striker has declined to join in, is left alone in the box having a cuppa and doing the Take A Break word search.

#gerritpingedin!

Thanks for the memories CW you’re a legend and always will be one

However , Really don’t get all this hate for the board , they’ve done everything they could to keep him at the club CW tried quitting months ago , he only stayed after the Prince flew from Saudi to make sure he stayed and guarantee his job

CW left because he wanted nobody else , all this transfer crap he spent £100 mill on average players some he didn’t bother player till half way through the season bogle/Brewster

The board has every right to offer a DOF like the vast majority of teams do if CW can’t compromise then it’s no surprise it’s ended like this

I think Chris Wilder wanted out the day he walked down the touchline shouting I can't fucking do this any more, at Palace wasn't it ?

There is some truth in this I think. His desire to stay at the club and go again next season. How strong was it? I think he may have been 60 40 if that. We could see the toll this season had taken on him and last Saturday's performance was really really poor. Maybe he thought I've had enough.

People on McBurnie's post saying the players didn't let him down haha, if they didn't then surely that's all the more reason to get rid. Christ.

Never seen such melodrama. You'd think Chris Wilder played one man vs 11 since 1889 with some of the reactions. Nothing we can do, he was very, very good, and now he's gone. We're still Sheffield United.

Hopefully we'll find out more, and the racist cunts can fuck off too.
Honestly you couldn’t write it. Same people that have blamed mcburnie for literally everything for the last 18 months 🤣

He's gone, he's gone
Oh I, oh I
I better learn how to face it
He's gone, he's gone
Oh I, oh I
I'd pay the devil to replace him
He's gone, and he's gone
Oh why, what went wrong?

Wit seems insistent that Wilder has been screwed over and the board have pushed him out.
