Wilder fighting with Plymouth players in tunnel

It doesn't look like there's physical violence but he's starting to bring negative aspects to the club, not just on himself.

I'll save one incident for when he's left the club but he's lucky no-one caught him on their phone outside the Banner a few weeks back.

He's running a fairly big professional football club trying to get into the biggest league in the world. He's currently more Steve Bracknall.

From the video he's said something and walked down the tunnel with his back to a Plymouth player who's losing his temper. If that's enough to sack someone then I don't know what sport we're watching.
I know others have said it, but I haven't mentioned sacking. That said, I wouldn't be too unhappy if that's the outcome.

I haven’t said there is. But I find him an embarrassment.
I'd have found it more embarrassing if he'd clapped our fans, pretended not to have seen the Plymouth players goading us (right in front of him) before skulking off down the tunnel.I found his few words before heading for the tunnel to be very measured in the circumstances. Each to their own.

Indeed.

How do you feel about starting Cannon? Or the substitutions?

A pretty disastrous week, but I don't agree with those calling for Wilder's head.

He's done incredible to get us where we are.

Yes, his head has definitely fallen off this week, but I loved the iconic scenes after Wednesday.
He's passionate about the club. The highs are incredible and the lows are too.

There may be a decision to make if the play-offs don't go our way (I'd be intrigued by Steve Cooper also), but for now - let's stick with him.

I'm referring to the few words being measured in length. He's not had a full blown rant at him. A few words, turned his back, walked off.

Again, if you don’t know what he said, your claim must necessarily be nonsense. You’re just trying to back up your Chrissie is innocent stance. All that’s available is what’s been seen, that Wilder veered towards them and it kicked of in the tunnel which most sensible people would see it as result of his actions. He’s passionate, he’s just seen auto disappear but he should be able to control himself. Not a case of dodgy reffing decisions, cheating by the opposition, yet again his selections, tactics and a group of players woefully underperforming for whatever reason.

Goooo on Chris, might as well get annoyed and upset just like the rest of us. It’s either that or finding scapegoats on social media. Fucking love it, I don’t want plastic, I don’t want mechanical I want emotion and buy in. Yer he’s fucked the last week up, so he should just wilt into a tunnel and come out and give lip service to the press. Nar get involved, show a bit of emotion

Clearly there were children watching. If you can’t see how unprofessional it was, would black eyes, broken noses and missing teeth have made any difference?

I’ll fight any man, any man……. On mi keyboard!

Which bit were the children watching? The bit where he has a quiet word, and that's all it looked like to two of their players for acting like dicks in front of our fans? Or was it the extremely blurred footage of nothing in particular as folks were jostling in the tunnel?

Modern day handbags, modern day overreaction. There was plenty to beat Wilder with today, this wasn't anything.

Well that was a whoosh…….

Captain Morgan, I normally agree with your posts. I can't agree with you now though. Our best hope of winning the playoffs is replacing Wilder before our next game. He is not a good manager. He has managed to get a good squad (not signed by him) to the playoffs. I think even Hecky would have got this team to automatic promotion.

I'm not claiming he's innocent, I'm claiming anything he did (that there's any evidence of) was proportional. A few words in that circumstance seems more normal than witnessing it and pretending not to have seen it. Do United fans really want to have our manager come over to clap us, see opposition players goading us and not say anything? Really?

There's zero evidence that anything that happened in the tunnel had anything to do with Wilder. You called my take "generous"; ok, so where's the evidence? The convention in football is that the home players/staff clap the home fans and the away fans/players clap the away fans. If that happened the rest doesn't happen.

You’re doing it again. I never said there was evidence. There is none, based on what was seen. But that works both ways doesn’t it. Zero evidence suggests it could then be anything. My point was that until the point where Wilder did what he did, said what he said, there was apparently no issue with any one else.

Apply your last point to Wilder not getting involved.

Let’s see who the authorities hold responsible.

I remember the last time we sacked a manager before the play-offs, it didn't go very well.

No manager is going to turn it all around in the space of a few weeks.
Stick with Wilder.

In which case who would you keep and who would you let go for next season in the Championship ?

If i remember rightly last time we got rid of a manager before the play offs we had a poor side and also appointment someone with no experience in management.
At least this time we have some decent players and you would think we would appoint someone with managerial experience.
Just because it didn't work last time isn't a reason not too try it again, we have nothing to lose because if we stick with Wilder we are playing championship football next season any new manager cannot do any worse than that.
