Why is McAttee playing on the right when he has no right foot and Archer playing on the left when he has no left foot?

So he can curl the ball in the top corner when cutting in. A bit like last game. Why is McAttee playing on the right when he has no right foot and Archer playing on the left when he has no left foot?
If McAtee wasn’t on the right for the Brentford game he doesn’t score the goal that wins the game. Why is McAttee playing on the right when he has no right foot and Archer playing on the left when he has no left foot?

Lol, robben is the best example out there... he's the most 1 footed player ever (left) and he was always played on the right to cut in on his left and one of the best players to play this role what fifty shades said inverted winger. Why is McAttee playing on the right when he has no right foot and Archer playing on the left when he has no left foot?
More to the point he didn't post this after the Brentford gameDidn’t go to the Brentford game then?
So many people don't understand the phrase " the exception that proves the rule"
As many have answered the benefits of putting these two on opposed wings, the main reason that this works is because it brings the opposition fullbacks onto their wrong foot, increasing the chance of them committing to a mistake with their weaker foot. Why is McAttee playing on the right when he has no right foot and Archer playing on the left when he has no left foot?
They post elsewhereWhat about the ones who do?
Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery at Bayern are prime examples of it. Worked okay for them as I recall.Plenty of teams do it. It's called inverted wingers. Imo tho all pro's should be able to use both feet, it should be something that they work on from a lad and onwards
Yeah but a Bayern fan was livid on their forum after one game when it didn’t workArjen Robben and Franck Ribery at Bayern are prime examples of it. Worked okay for them as I recall.
Yeah so everyone should play their left footed full back on the right to counter this and vice versa. And whilst we are at it maybe we should try playing a centre half at centre forward as they couldn't be any worse than McBurnie is!As many have answered the benefits of putting these two on opposed wings, the main reason that this works is because it brings the opposition fullbacks onto their wrong foot, increasing the chance of them committing to a mistake with their weaker foot.
We’ve tried this in a number of games - Wolves when McAtee came on, having been pretty ineffective in games prior to that, Hecky put in a floating role but found himself down the right where he caused them problems. Wilder has followed this and played them this way since he came in.
The other benefit is that it allows us to still have wingbacks or fullbacks getting forward and overlapping. In the first half today this happened a few times, McAtee coming inside to get onto his left, but more importantly, it allowed Bogle to get forward in space as the fullback went with McAtee and allowed Bogle to put that killer ball across the 6 yard box… the problem was that not a single player from McB, Archer, Souza, Hamer or Lowe bothered to gamble for a certain tap in…
Second half this method failed as -
- McBurnie didn’t hold the ball up
- we lost central mid to Gallagher
- full backs didn’t get forward enough
- we weren’t fit enough
It’ll work in some games as it ties up fullbacks to allow our fullbacks to get forward. It was fairly effective in the first half today and it was a good counter attack option as we lacked pace though the middleYeah so everyone should play their left footed full back on the right to counter this and vice versa. This kind of post is why people question the intelligence of football fans. Why is McAttee playing on the right when he has no right foot and Archer playing on the left when he has no left foot?
