What makes it worse, is I'm off work now ,for 10 days of looking after my 1yr old daughter, who's covered in chickenpox, so we can't go far, for fear of infecting the entire nursery attending world!!

That's exactly what you should do, go to as many play groups as you can and infect the lot. Everyone's going to get chicken pox, and the younger you get it, the milder it is and its out of the way. We used to call them chicken pox parties when we were younger.
