Hanson was injured. Coutts was a first teamer returning having missed the last game. Sharp, Duffy and Freeman were rested. 2 of them are the wrong side of 30 and all 3 have played the vast majority of games this season. Resting 3 players in those circumstances 4 days before a proverbial 6 pointer is entirely understandable. Especially when you consider that they are 3 of our top scorers and creators, 2 of which will be facing their old club Saturday. We want those 3 to be 100% at it.

Fair point mate ...... and we still had the chances to win the Bristol Rovers game ....... if we'd finished our chances we would have done so

I was surprisd at so many changes but am unable to say we'd have won playing an unchanged team. With their home record I would have taken a draw irrespective of any changes before the game and hoped for no injuries or red cards, with Saturday on the horizon and being a possible six pointer.

Excellent ...... I'm not surprised as I think Tufty is pretty "down to earth" so good on him for having a full and frank discussion with the inept officials

I just hope that he reflects his unhappiness in his referees report to the equally inept FA

People making assumptions that we'd have won playing our 'first team' are doing so without full knowledge of the circumstances, such as the fitness of the players and what minor injuries they're carrying.

Agreed. But just on the information available, I think most people would probably agree that if you added Billy Sharp, Mark Duffy and Kieron Freeman to any league 1 team that otherwise would draw 0-0, there’s a good chance they would tip the balance in that team’s favour. Obviously depending on how fit they were etc. My comments weren’t aimed as a criticism of the decision to rest them, merely in support of a stance that holds that, on the balance of probabilities, a win would be more likely with them in the side (which is why they are in the side more often than not).

Football's emotional, that, and it's unpredictability, is why we like it so we're all guilty of talking crap at times.

There's nothing wrong with discussing why a manager does things, or doesn't do things, but we sometimes forget that we only see the tip of the iceberg. The ninety minutes once or twice a week, not all the other stuff like fitness reports, opposition analysis reports, how the players train etc.

The idea that if we play the same team every week, we'll get the same result may satisfy Einstein's over quoted theory of insanity but doesn't reflect the reality.

Every team rotates players at times, if they have more than forty odd games in a season. That's been happening for a long time now so I don't understand why some people just don't get it.

There's nothing wrong with asking questions but when a question is phrased along the lines of 'why didn't he do what I think he should have done, because if he had we'd have won' it stops being a question and becomes a criticism. As much as I value my opinion, and others on here, non of us have walked in Wilder's shoes, and sometimes we need to bear that in mind when throwing shit at him.

It really depends on who you replace them with. Most L1 clubs would kill for those players but we have the luxury of having a better squad than most. And there's little point having a good squad if we fail to make use of it.
