Are we any closer to a manager appointment? no

Do we look likely to appoint someone soon? No

Current players up to the job? Not for me

Will we sell our best players? Seemingly

Money? Doubtful

Hecky experienced enough? Unlikely

Recruitment strategy? Not been great

Jesus.
I actually think almost every player is up to a promotion push. I even think Heckingbottom is a knowledgeable enough guy to lead the push.

Posts like these are so disrespectful to so many people at the club.

Are we any closer to a manager appointment? YES. whilst space time is a complex entity time on our earth is a more linear process. As one advances through the minutes, hours, days, weeks and months it becomes inevitable that we get closer to the next managerial appointment. Anything else is scientifically impossible.

Do we look likely to appoint someone soon? UNSURE. This one is more subjective and it is a little quiet on that from but we are hardly going to be privy to a blow by blow account of what is happening during any recruitment process.

Current players up to the job? YES. They churned out the odd win in the Premier League and it kept 100% intact I'd suspect they'd do well.

Will we sell our best players? UNSURE. Other than Sander Berg there is no indicator whatsoever at this point.

Money? YES. A lot of leverage if we sell even just 1 or 2 and Wilder was backed even if wages limited us but this is the Championship.

Hecky experienced enough? YES (though I'd like a more ambitious appointment).

Recruitment strategy? Unknown. It was reasonably good in terms of money provided but Wilder didn't do very well with it.

Glad to assist!

- yes, sounds like it will be this week.

- listening to that Accountants breakdown a few months ago (Darren?) We should be in the top 2 or 3 in terms of funds.

- most of this squad have been promoted from the Championship in the past, the others have good records down there.

Well the answer to the first one has to be yes. It simply is impossible to be no.
The second one also has to be yes.
Current players up to the job? Well from what I’ve seen those that will remain are good enough for top six which I guess is the target so yes. If we’re wanting top two then we’ll need to use loans and transfers to improve the squad and particularly midfield.
Will we sell our best players? Some I’m sure will go if the offers meet our valuation. It’s an unrealistic expectation for any fan to say we shouldn’t sell anyone.

As pep talks go I would have to say I've had better.

Why is everybody so optimistic about next season?

thats what you do
even wednesday fans think they can get up with a squad of 3000 players

if your not optimistic in August might as well take up knitting
Corrected for you Sir.

The first 5 matches will be telling next season. If we get off to a decent start then I have every confidence we will be there or thereabouts come the end of the season. That being said, depends if the new manager breaks the tea up significantly. The new manager will however have seen the team play and must know that the majority of players are more than good enough for the Championship. Lets be positive for a change eh

"I would just love it if we got new members, love it, they'll go on about where we've gone wrong and post the negatives, but they've gotta remember, league one is harder than they think with Barry Bald patch and a few spotty teenagers struggling to hatch thier first pubes, and they've gotta go to Wycombe and get a result, I'll tell you, this sleeper cell stuff isn't over by long distance yet, we're still fighting for this championship, and I'll tell yer, it isn't over yet"

Because.......pubs, Saturday and Tuesday football and many have not had chance to discuss the barmaid, Wednesday AND feel good after picking up 3 points in a long time.

roll on the promotion party !!!!

A lot of other Championship clubs are sailing very close to the wind regarding FFP so I cant see a lot throwing money around, also there could be a few transfer embargos and potential points deductions. I think we will be top six easy.

Clearly close to an appointment, so there goes the first two.

Remains to be seen if they're up to it, but their history in the Championship suggests they're capable if a manager can get them going.

We'll sell Berge probably, but it's not like any of them have been amazing this season just gone, we need a shake up. A few players have to much invested in them and won't get it back, so it's unlikely we'll sell. Also don't have McCabe anymore so that's good.

Money, plenty, parachute payments.

Heckingbottom is experienced enough to be the Under 23 coach, which is what he'll be most likely.

Recruitment strategy, Wilder's gone, so maybe it'll get better now we're not tied to the British market so tightly.

I'm not optimistic that we'll go up really, but I think you're mistaking everyone being happy this dogshit season has finally ended and a new one is coming with a chance we can win more than 7 games and not lose 29, for optimism.

I wonder if it's possible to ask the football league to relegate us to League one now? Save another season of misery as it would seem we have no hope for next season at all!

I do think there is a job to be done this summer a big one. New manager, getting the players fresh and free from this season, transfers in and out and lets not forget the Prince still needs to come good on some other promises regards training ground improvements too.

But in terms of the squad, there's something to work from. There are some good players in the squad especially at Championship level.
Yes it's been a poor season but I still stand by this has been an amalgamation of events.
A 6 week pre-season not enough for us. The way we play is about high energy performances, you need the players fighting fit.
Injuries starting with Mousset and then O'Connell and resulting in a high amount of injuries throughout the season.
Not getting a win earlier on in the season resulting in so much drop in confidence. Had we beaten even West Brom away this could have changed the mindset a bit of the players. Of course we can also talk about recruitment, Wilder "losing his mojo"? But these other events conspired to where we are.

However since the Newcastle game we have collected 21 points in 21 games. That's nothing to shout about but extrapolate over the season and you might scrape safety too.

Would you care to list your view of our best players so we can check them off?
Also what your expectancy is on what "up to the job" would be? Is that avoiding relegation? Playoffs?
Finally money - What are you expecting there? £30M transfer budget and £80M wage bill?
