Beat Derby and Reading this season on TV. Can’t think of another. It was similar last season. If we had a league table just for live games I bet we would be in the bottom three. Why????

Players lack the bottle to turn it on for TV?

Been saying this for years! Always seems like we lack of effort when we are on sky, shame as it doesnt reflect to the nation how good a team we currently are.

Sky show the ‘big’ games (i.e. those against better teams). It stands to reason that we won’t win as many. That’s probably true for most teams, even Man City.

It's as if Sky pick games that they predict might be competitive / entertaining, and then,.. who knows what happens after that in this very predictable league?

We didn't do terribly on TV last season to be fair. A few wins, a few losses, a few draws.
We did rather well in the promotion season.
Disappointing so far this season though.

I don't have Sky for innumerable reasons, but our lad esteemed Forgeblade does. I have watched us on Sky, courtesy of him, over the years. I have NEVER, seen us do anything except lose on Sky. I used to get stressed about listening to us on the radio, but I think this is preferable. I think we're just jinxed when we're on!

I think it’s because the players play cards for some reyt dosh beforehand, there can be no other reason.

We did beat Blackburn away on TV too.

But i would agree the stats are worrying. Perhaps the mentality of knowing what everyone else has done has a negative effect? As opposed to kicking off at 3pm the same as everyone else where we can just focus on our own game?

I agree, apart from the games we win we almost never win when we’re on tv.
The OP didn’t say “we almost never win”. he said “we almost always lose”.

I believe this is not correct. It depends what time period you are looking at of course. If I could be arsed I’d check it out for the past two seasons, I’m pretty certain we do not almost always lose

This season's sky appearances updated;

Played 9
Won 2
Drawn 2
Lost 5
For 10
Against 11

The defeats were Swansea x 2, FLD, Leeds and WBA so top 6 sides and relegated Prem team.

What would class as being “on Sky?”

All midweek matches are live on sky via the red button, put these games in and we are quite good results wise when on Sky.

Wasn’t that red button though? I don’t count that although I suppose you could argue.....

It may just be a coincidence but it’s remarkable how many of our league defeats have been the main televised game. Even though those games are great for me because I live far from Sheffield, I actually dread them. If we hadn’t been selected for live games this season we would probably be top

Do us all a favour and stop watching then, you're clearly the jinx!

Lies, damned lies, and statistics.....

Put another way we’ve lost 8 times this season and 5 of them have been on Sky....6 if you count The Boro loss. Sky out!

Why do we lose slightly more than half of the time on Sky (assuming we don’t count red button games)? :)

Interesting fact...

Blades have lost just two 3pm Saturday games this season.

The other 6 defeats:
Sky x5
Red Button x1

Scrap that^^^

Someone already said that
