Who will be the next 'Star' player sold.

We haven't got any star players left, which you could say is lucky as we won't miss any if them the next time we have to cut what must already be one of the lowest wage bills in the division. Our best player is Morgs who's getting on a bit so hopefully wouldn't command a fee that would make the board go all weak at the knees.
 
Jamie Ward too.

United will say they made unreasonable wage demands, say something about the fact he's only played X amount of games and hasn't really proved much.

Jamie Ward's men will say our contract (or lack of) offer was demeaning and Jamie would have loved to have stayed but <insert rival club> offered him a contract which reflected his ability.

The truth will be inbetween the two.
 
We've only got Monty, Morgs, Ward, Cresswell and Paddy [dependent on how he is after the lay off] worth keeping; rest can disappear and not be missed.

If we can't afford to re-new their contracts [when due] then it's time to shut up shop.

The fourteen to bring in [according to Blackie] shouldn't cost too much cus the games in melt down [according to McC].

If we lose any of those four [five?] then we really are in the shit.
 
Forgot about Billy but he's not really our player whilst Blackie’s in charge, he career here is over under Blackie.

We can put Billy on the list of 'to sell'.
 
Do you think we'll be getting market rate for them though. Or will a handfull of shiny beads and a little mirror be enough to 'Seal the Deal'.. I know what my money/beads is on!!.

Not Monty :eek: Surely we won't sell Monty :eek: The club will fold and we won't be able to play football if we lose Monty :eek: Bet there's no paint left on the door from where other clubs have been knocking to try and sign that useless twat these last few years.

Cresswell's nowt but a journeyman, Paddy was never the same after getting injured at Palace all those years ago. Ward would be OK somewhere like Birmingham to replace Phillips. Morgan was the best player in the Prem season but he gets too much bad press, he's not a pretty boy so can't see him going anywhere.

As young Latters said, we don't have any stars, we're somewhere less than average.

I think Wardy will be going in the summer unfortunately, although Yeates looks more than capable of doing a job. A lot of you will disagree but I do feel Ched's lack of goals is a blessing in disguise for this year, when he was at Norwich I watched him quite often (as I live there and get dragged along with mates if I'm not doing owt!) and he was brilliant there, the problem is KB using him as a bitpart player, our lump and bump strategies don't work for him, as is the same for Billy Sharp, look at him at Donny this year, good football and 15 goals to his name, not rocket science to work out we don't utilise him properly! Apart from Jamie Ward, there's noone else worth buying off us, as Blackie said, a big rebuilding exercise is required, he bought some serious rejects in last year, Jordan Stewart for a start!

Oh yes I can. It's an illusion of effort. Thoughtless, aimless, playground style chasing of the ball. Lacks the bottle to put his foot on the ball and hasn't a single creative thought in his head, preferring the easy 'elpiton' method. He is routinely left stranded in or around the centre circle by half-decent midfielders who actually pass the ball to each other, at which point he makes little or no attempt to retrieve his position as the opposition bear down on goal.

Don't be fooled. Watch him carefully.
 
No, you can't fault Quinny's effort. You can find holes so big in the end product you can drive a six-horse logging wagon through, but you can't hide the fact that he runs around a lot. Not always in the right direction admittedly, but he does run. In a Jack Russell chasing a beachball stylie, but run he certainly does. And that requires effort.:D

I agree with your views on Monty but, in my opinion, the above is absolute bollocks. Quinny is one of the few players at the club capable of putting his foot on the ball and picking a pass, but also getting stuck in winning it back when we don't have it. His free kick taking is good, his volleying technique is awesome (when he gets the chance to get around the edge of the area) and some of the through balls he plays would be perfect for Mr Camara to run onto if he was ever going to play for us again.

What we don't need is tossers booing his inclusion in the team when he's one of the few players we have left who can rightfully be included in a passing football team.
 



I reckon Sharp is a certainty to be sold, and I can see one of Ward or Hendo leaving as well.

And Quinn does give 100% and his technical ability is largely ignored and under rated. When he's on form he's a decent player. He's just not consistent, and it's not surprising considering the treatment he gets from some of our fans.
 
I'm just wondering which clubs are going to be able to pay transfer fees? They certainly won't be able to fund it from bank borrowings as happened in the past.
 
I don't expect to see too much spent this summer, certainly not at our level. I think the January transfer window gave a good indication of what's to come in terms of spending. It's understandable.

It will be very different to the past. You can't be a selling club if there is nobody able to buy. There has probably never been as many players coming out of contract as there will be this summer, there will be a lot of business done, but all on Bosmans. The days of big transfer fees at our level are gone.
 
It's time for Blackwell to prove that he can find good players with only a small amount to spend. There are plenty of good players out there who won't cost mega bucks, we've just got to find them.

Could well be, but the one certainty is the need to off-load the high earners.

Trouble is, Naysmith is a crock nobody will want, and Ched has succeeded in making himself totally unsellable. :(

It's these factors which make me think we really are in trouble next season, regardless of managerial changes. How many promising Div1 players could we employ for the combined wages of those two?

Tricky times indeed.
 
Jamie Ward the only person who would command a decent fee.
 
I doubt whether too many clubs are likely to take a chance on Wardie.

He is too fast for his own body, hence why he is often injured.

A little like Michael Owen.
