I don't even rate Basham that much but you really can't take anything away from him lately and to do otherwise is bizzare. He's been superb.

He's also been consistently picked by Wilder, who as evidenced throughout this season seems to have rather a good idea of what he's doing. Only Sharp, Duffy and Moore beat Basham for league starts. There's a good reason for that.

When you convert it into the starting line-up v Bolton, you get:
7 Wilder signings, 3 Clough, 1 Adkins
(Subs: 1 youth system, 1 Clough, 5 Wilder)

Some rebuild.

Of the likely/desired "stayers", the priority surely's got to be to sort Coutts's contract out?
Playing the way he is now (discounting the short periods when he retreats into his shell), you'd think he'd thrive given the opportunity at a higher level.

From what Wilder said earlier in the season it will sort its self out, coutts is one of a number of players with extension triggers in their contacts who are due to reach the No of games required. Bastan another and I think Freeman and Sharp were mentioned too

I am far from a Basham fan I think he is a poor footballer but it can't be denied that on the rare occasion he has been dropped this season he has taken the next given chance and taken in. As for commitment he's right up there
