Who should we sign in January?

Sean St.Ledger, David Healy, Gareth Bale, Eusebio, Gerd Muller, Jean-Pierre Papin... Who knows what shit the clown will sign. Any body with an ounce of footballing talent avoid at all costs!

realisticaly, gareth bale would be worth a punt, alex smithies as a new keeper, though he'd cost a fair few pounds, and i'm stumped as for a new striker!

KB had Cresswell and Healy together at Leeds. A move for him could be a possibility??

I think we'll end up bringing in somebody like Chris Taylor from Oldham, maybe a couple of players from Premiership reserves if we can bring them in permanently.

It's hard to say who we might bring in because we don't realistically know of everybody who is available.

Not really who is available I think it boils down to who we can afford or want actually pay money for.

I know we are cutting back but I dont think we would go out our way to get the quality needed.

Probably not. I think I read somewhere that we couldn't afford to sign Andrew Davies, so that makes me wonder what type of player we'll actually be able to afford.

one player.... Keith Tracey...

sad to see him go... think he is top draw...

Agreed, I liked Keith Treacy as well. Was a big plus for us early in the season. We definately need a wide man. Someone who can carry the ball in tight areas - they normally cost a lot of money sadly.

I said a striker before but that wouldnt be a necessity if we could keep Hendo fit. Any one of Evans, Cresswell or Camara could play alongside him and be fairly effective. We need some more depth though due to an injury prone squad.

Listening to the match online :( - playing well at the moment

We need to start making our pressure count. Having strong periods of possession in the opposing half but not punishing them. Same today. Camara looks the most likely to score - he's a little bit lightweight but he makes up for it with movement.

If only I wasnt in Bristol. Someone else is enjoying my season ticket. Always a good game on the rare occasion I can't make it

I've been thinking about this and although it may be overly optimistic I'd like to go for the following.

Loan:
Naughton (Spurs) - Not getting a game, not even making the bench.
Walker (Spurs) - Should be available for the 2nd half of the season should try him right midfield.
Bale (Spurs) - Loan with a view to a perminant deal in the summer. I would expect the full deal to cost around £2-3 Million.

To my reckoning this would leave 2 more loans for Blackie to look for a Keeper and a forward.

Transfers:
Harper : Complete this full deal therefore getting him out of the loan numbers we have. No fee.

Unless we get a bid of close to £2 Million for he stays until the summer if we do then I'd like to see us find a replacement providing the money if necessary.

These signings would fill out our squad with players Redknapp doesn't seem to be thinking of playing.
He has said that Bale might play in January (African Nations) so that deal might not be possible, although he is a player I'd love us to sign to play left wing. If that is the case I'd switch Wardy to left winger and play Walker on the right with Naughton behind him.

Keeper: Bunn??
RB: Naughton
CB: Morgan
CB: Killa
LB: Naysmith
RW: Walker
CM: Harper
CM: Willo
LW: Wardy
FW: Camara/Hendo
FW: Evans/Hendo

Given I read a multitude of views on here as to where our problems lie, who would you like the Blades to sign (realistically) in the transfer window? Also, with the exception of Kilgallon, are we likely to ship anyone out?

A goalkeeper short term.
A right back if Walker has gone back.
A centre back
A left winger

Names? No idea, although if budget allows it I would say getting Halford & Naughton back on loan wouldn't be a silly idea to fill in the LM and RB slots.

St Ledger maybe now Irvine has gone? Although again probably out of our range.

I'd look into getting Kallio back too perhaps on a 18 month contract if that is possible.

I have it on good authority that one or two incoming deals are virtually tied up, although no idea who they are and as with transfers involving SUFC they could quite easily collapse.

I'd also look into the idea of getting rid of Reid & France, nothing wrong with signing players due to the seven subs rule but if they're barely going to feature when we have had the injury crisis we've had then they never will.

What does Ryan France actually do? Defender? Midfielder? Programme seller?

Genuine question - I've really no idea.

If Walker goes back a move for Naughton surely is a no brainer. Also don't see why we can't get both of them back for the run in, and at no cost either.

Is it right that Spurs do not have a Reserve team - if not what an excellent career move by Naughton (NOT)
Agents have a lot to answer for!!!)

Ideally St Ledger would be the perfect replacement for Killa (Sharp + 2.5M???) and it'd be great to sign Beckford to compete with Camara for the starting berth alongside Hendo. Even better than Beckford would be Tudgay lol.
But alas it just wont happen.

From what little I can divulge about our financial situation, we should get the most money we can for Killa and Sharp, then push the boat our for McSheffrey and Sh1ttu.

Kallio would be good defensive cover and maybe get a young busy striker to provide competition for Camara (Danny Graham, Aaron Mclean???).

After securing the services of Bunn and Seip all be it on loan surely the priority must be a winger. With Killa looking to leave a player swap with Hull looks are best option and with Peter Halmosi not in there side he would fit the bill.

i dont want him, but halmosi's name will crop up with this

Back to the original subject. An article on who might be going to/from the Prem clubs.

Possible_Moves

No mention of Killa, but the values placed on Kallio and Davies are £1m and £0.75m respectively. Now that is scary...

Here's some more:
BBC Jan transfer rumours

Couple of mentions of Killa in there, linked to Bolton and Burnley. Elsewhere Celtic also rumoured to be interested.

I think you have totally misjudged our spending power. There is no way we could afford St Ledger, Shittu, McSheffrey etc on permanent deals. Wages and fees would be probably be treble our budget at least. We'll have to make do with more loans and average players to keep us tickin over pending more investment.

I'd love us to sign Boyd, would be an excellent addition to our team and solve the left sided problem.

George Boyd did look a quality player when we played Peterborough. Would be ideal for our left hand side.

Just seen on the club website KB isn't ruling out loan moves for Naughton and Tonge. We shall see. I would like to see us make a couple of permanent signings though. When we miss out on promotion all our loanees will go back and once again we wont have a team.

Marcel Seip is a decent signing (but on loan yet again). Should fill in OK for the departing Kilgallon.
