Who is our best player?

You could make a case for all of them, as a lot have said. For me I think the best player is O'Connell or Fleck. But I voted for Norwood , as he makes us tick and the reason why we've improved on last season.

Almost impossible to choose with so many candidates, and all bring different attributes and qualities to the various positions that they play.

In all honesty I have never seen a more complete and dynamic Blades squad in my lifetime, for the system we play at lease, which is also the best I have seen.

But I have repeatedly said that Duffy is my favourite Wilder era player so far, I am going for him. Probably not the most obvious choice of late for many, but I still think with this lad on the pitch we control the ball and the tempo in midfield and up front. His close control is also as good as most footballers that I have ever watched, and that includes PL.

Could have voted for most of them for different reasons but I voted for Enda because he's been a revelation this season after getting pelters last season and recently played very well at LCB. He's also now winning caps for his country.

I also didn't think anyone else would vote for him!

I picked O’Connell, factoring in potential growth, as well as current ability.

I don’t think you can really pick a best. They’re all brilliant!

It’s a difficult call between three or four. I don’t actually think we’re the sort of team that relies upon one outstanding player. We have a lot of good players.

Pushing myself to decide, it’s a tough call between Norwood and Billy. I went for Billy. Consistency.

Norwood for me..He's the one who we play through,dictates the pace,keeps us ticking over and can produce real quality.
Look what happened when Coutts got injured last season,we were never the same without the heartbeat of the team.

I think the point has been made previously that take most of these players out of our team and this system and actually they are probably not that desirable for other teams. So the correct answer for me is probably all of them.

So the verdict is, our best player is Oli Norwood, polling almost a third of the vote.

Billy Sharp a clear second, with not much between Fleck, O’Connell and Egan.

Showing that not everyone took the poll seriously, Lundstram got as many votes and Henderson, Coutts and McGoldrick combined

I voted Sharp, but on reflection I think perhaps he's may favourite player, rather than necessarily the best.

Feel like a lot of people are answering based on 'who is our most important player' which is fair enough but not necessarily the same as the best.

I interpret the question as, who is the player who could play at the highest level. I think that's O'Connell, as I can see him being a key player/defender in a top half Premiership side or perhaps even higher.

We're a well oiled machine, take out any cog and the productivity will suffer.

Our machine also has different operating modes for different styles/standards of opposition.

On that basis I have abstained from the vote.

I've been trying to express, succinctly, how I feel the team works. Well I couldn't express it any better than you have. Thank you, well said. It bloody annoys me, after the time CW/AK have run the team large numbers of supporters still don't realise what its all about and what they are trying to set up. There are no stars, they are ALL stars to greater or lesser degrees. As some say, "enjoy the ride", don't get involved in schoolyard nonsense and believe.
