Ever since Beattie left I have started to wonder who is actually making the decisions on transfer policy at BDTBL. Follow that up with the lack of a serious contract offer on the table for Killer (who made that decision), who wants Cotteril off the books (largish wage and some money in the bank to boot), who wanted both Kyles out the way for a large sum of cash etc etc etc.

Now you will probably know I am pretty much pro McCabe and most of what he has done but in spite of that I am in no way blind to what is happening. If my own gut feeling is right Blackwell is actually having the rug pulled from under him but is so happy just to be where he is that he won't say anything about it. Blackwell most certainly didn't want BT sold (BT himself has said this recently) and considering the man has an injury crisis in front of him why would he be going around selling players off?

I could well be a million miles wide of the truth but when you stack it all up something just doesn't make any sense at all. I don't run the club and I don't get the inside track but it very much looks like McCabe sells the players he wants and all that happens is that Blackwell keeps his trap shut and takes the fall for it all.

Morale at SUFC seems at an all time low for the recent past. Players look low in confidence and just don't seem interested. We are loaded with loan players who are short term fixes for long term gaps left in the squad due to the stripping of any talent from the team. Once Killer does one we are pretty much left as rag, tag and bobtail.

Just thought I would throw this one open to see what people think. I am getting disallusioned with the complete lack of apparent direction from the top and it seems to be feeding all the way through the club. Great, we are financially sound but should that be at the expense of League position? There has to be a better way than this, surely.

To sum up, summat stinks.

PS - I aint so sure we are financially sound at all. Let's wait and see Blades Realty Limited 2009 accounts.

Sounds like we are both asking the same sort of questions Bladesway. Like you I am not a McCabe knocker but all the indications are that he is having a significant influence on footballing decisions at the moment and it has to be said that, on the face of it at least, not necessarily for footballing reasons.
He has, as I've said before, introduced a unique business model into football by joining a club into his business empire. It may well be that he originally saw this as a way to put the club on a sound financial footing, but the economic downturn has had a major effect on his finances and probably his cashflow and he appears to be drawing cash from the football club possibly to cover short term - hopefully - deficits in other areas.

All pure supposition of course but that's what it looks like.

The same man as always has done..................;)

and just get ready for a reight bombshell !
