If Chris gets his wish for a new GK, right Centre mid, left back, pacey striker and even a right centre back - who drops our off the starting squad?
Ramsdale for the GK, Coutts for the midfield, Freeman for the fullback, Che has been replaced by Chapman, McNulty by a new striker, and given the good partnership with Wilson and O'Connell I expect a back-up for Wilson (rather than a re-placement),, so a younger player who might alternate with Jake Wright.

Once these players are in then we will know whether we have a chance or not to get out of this league. Also,
all this means our young kids - Reed, Whiteman, Brooks, Kelly, Semple and Ramsdale - will only show up when the injuries start.

We cannot simply replace players with academy players, they arnt good enough, sorry.

New GK

Basham New CB O'Connell Hussey

Duffy New CM Fleck Chapman

Clarke Sharp

Subs: Long, Wilson, Brayford, Scougall, Done, McNulty, New striker

I thought Wilson played well maybe he deserves a run, didn't look out of place at all. Think he made some good interceptions, passing wasn't great but there was nobody to pass to.

We may well get out of the division this season
Wilson and O,connell look OK to me good partnership forming ,Wilson is quick something we have lacked at centre back for a long time.
It's ironic but if we had these two in Cloughs full season in charge, I think we would have gone up.why did an experienced manager like clough
Tthink he could get promotion with a make shift defence ! That's a question I would love to be answered by clough, may be history now but still bugs
me.Centre back is not a problem but we have lots to do in other areas in my opinion.

I just do not understand why it is so hard to believe Chris. He said he would use the transfer listed players as long as he had gaps, that he was going have a squad of 24 players "of his." So now we have the ITK brigade predicting what Chris has previously implied and suddenly thats news. I guess when we are used to arguing over assumptions we made up it gets hard to accept what Chris might say. We will see aa couple drop out of the starting eleven and a couple more from the match day squad. UTB!

Hard to see a new CB coming straight in when we have Wright sitting on the bench who is the kind of leadership material we need on the pitch. Wilson is doing okay imo, but if he does get dropped for a new CB then Wright would probably end up in the reserves which would be non sensical considering Wilder's history with him.

Personally, if I can get them out I would, although Wilder seems to have a soft spot for Scougall, just not a position to play him in. Still plenty to leave

Plenty to do :-

Done - Same thing could be said of Done, that he doesn't look interested.
Brayford - Let us learn from this experience
Scougall - Just no position in the team for him if we play 442
McNulty - in the bad egg group?
Coutts - in the bad egg group?
Freeman - Might keep him if we can't find a full back but again part of what feels like a bad egg group.
Basham? Probably keep him as a squad player but already tainted.
Long - Needs to be away from the club for a spell.

The problem Wilson has had is he doesn't fancy knocking it back to Long or passing to Brayford. Ends up him sending up air bombs all day.
But we all spent last season complaining of going backwards and sideways? I know what you are saying and agree that it's been a little hoof ball so far (taking away the first 30 minutes at Bolton) of the starting 11 from our 3 games so far though, Wilson would be way down my list of players to drop.

I agree with you :)

I agree but it's very early days. He was brought in as cover, there's a reason for that, and with no loan window we'll be stuck with what we have until January.
How do you know he was brought in as cover? Wilder hasnt said that was the case, and while he is performing well he warrants his place in the side.

Because we were very clearly trying very hard to sign Kyle McFadzean, a right sided centre half, in a deal that would've cost a decent amount of money?

I don't think that's his fault tbh, looks like he's playing to instruction. I've liked what I've seen from Wilson thus far.

not saying it is his fault. I thought he looked sold defensively however lacked options.

I wish I could go back and edit my initial post :(
