Saw nothing from Clarke which would make me drop Sharp for him.

I agree but it's very early days. He was brought in as cover, there's a reason for that, and with no loan window we'll be stuck with what we have until January.
This. Decent enough player and from what I've seen better than what we had last year but that still doesn't mean he should be first choice.

I'm still completely baffled that anyone is talking about dropping sharp. However quiet he is for spells, take him out of the game and you had another loss on Saturday.

Wilson and O,connell look OK to me good partnership forming ,Wilson is quick something we have lacked at centre back for a long time.
It's ironic but if we had these two in Cloughs full season in charge, I think we would have gone up.why did an experienced manager like clough
Tthink he could get promotion with a make shift defence ! That's a question I would love to be answered by clough, may be history now but still bugs
me.Centre back is not a problem but we have lots to do in other areas in my opinion.

They have done ok but not really been tested. Three goals we have conceded came due to mistakes that they cntributed to. Wilson confusiion with Brayford at Bolton and then Duffy poor header. Then at Crewe both centre backs made poor attempts for headers on both goals. Wilson assisting Lowe and O'Connell getting outjumped on the winner.

Every game they have played one striker v two so should have been comfortable. We will see what they are made of more when we go to Millwall on Saturday and we play a really good front pairing.

I am reserving judgement as I am on Hussey who has been poor but may settle down.

Agree about the Millwall test, but no centre back wins all headers and it was Basham who lost his man for the winner,he has a habit of switching off when balls a crossed into the box it's not the initial cross that gets bash it's the 2nd ball where he gets done he seems to lose concentration, definitely cost us the 2nd goal against crewe

I've seen nothing so far to warrant dropping Wilson, nor have I thought he looks any worse than O'Connell. Just because he was initially brought in as cover doesn't mean we should be looking to replace him, I've been pleased by what I've seen from him so far. He might be a little bit no-nonsense but is this really the worst thing for a CB.

The 2 games I've been to I thought our CB's looked pretty comfortable in all honesty. A wonder strike from Spearing that you can't do much about, and a mistake from Long. Other than that I can't remember many shots on our goal, this isn't just down to the CB's of course, but suggests they're doing something right.

Me too. He's the only one who knows where the goal is. Same as the last two seasons.

Personally, if I can get them out I would, although Wilder seems to have a soft spot for Scougall, just not a position to play him in. Still plenty to leave

Plenty to do :-

Done - Same thing could be said of Done, that he doesn't look interested.
Brayford - Let us learn from this experience
Scougall - Just no position in the team for him if we play 442
McNulty - in the bad egg group?
Coutts - in the bad egg group?
Freeman - Might keep him if we can't find a full back but again part of what feels like a bad egg group.
Basham? Probably keep him as a squad player but already tainted.
Long - Needs to be away from the club for a spell.
I agree with some of this although I think McNulty is good enough, and at the moment, driven enough to be given a run. However, I cannot agree with your judgement on Done. He always puts the effort in, in my humble opinion.

We cannot simply replace players with academy players, they arnt good enough, sorry.
How do you know the academy players are not good enough?
How many times have you watched Ramsdale, Semple, Kelly or even Brookes for instance? What can you tell me about them?

We are talking about having these kids as back up. In a squad of 25 they would be 26 to 30. Not playing every minute of every game. To make a sweeping statement that they are not good enough is piss poor.

I look forward to you telling me all about them.
