Who drops out for Gus?

O'Hare is twice the player he was last season. You underestimate him.
O'Hare was twice the player about 4 games ago. We can't get the ball to him consistently unless we have some variety available. We are either unwilling or unable to 'pass through the thirds' so going direct to Bamford and playing from there is the best change up we have available. Play one up top and we are back to a lot of sideways passing and hoping someone else will take a risk

Peck looks way better with Jairo in the team so we cant play Gus central. Last season CW used him on the left and thats where he'll play again i think.

Then it depends on formation. I think we r better with 2 up front which means Ohare will have to play on the right. As it stands is think this is potentially our best team
Cooper
Seriki Mee Tanganga McAllum/Burrows
Ohare Peck Jairo Hamer
Bamford Campbell
O'Hare will be far more effective than Brooks on the R.
We may as well play with 10 men when in possession if we keep sticking an inverted Brooks on the R.
He can't do anything attacking with his R foot - it's a standing foot only.
Put Gus in , drop Brooks - easy.

In fact Gus & O'Hare are good enough to rotate flanks during the game , leaving defenders confused as to where they'll pop up next.

With Brooks , you know he can't beat you on the outside - in fact he can't even control the ball with his R foot.
You just show him inside to a congested area and that's the end of the attack , time and time again.
Either that or he stays R and either coughs up cheap possession or tries a feeble cross with the outside of his L foot. Comical.
It happened 3 times when he received great passes last night but the manager can't see what a waste of time it is.
Not the players fault.
He's a one-footed LW being expected to create danger on the RW.

I'd go back to the 4-2-3-1 with Hamer on the left, he provides as much goal threat as any of our strikers.

We'd need to play less vertically and pass through the pitch more, but we have the players to do that, especially if Blaster comes back in.

He's literally managed 2 assists in the last 2 games, playing wide left which isn't even his best position.

Provided he is fit - you do not leave out your best player, who also happens to be one of if not the best in the league.
Especially when you are 21st in November

Until Arblaster & Hamer are back up to full speed they should be on the bench at best, atm the team has a more balanced look to it hence the the recent performances and that's without those 2 in the squad.
Riedewald brings a sense of calm to the midfield & Peck has flourished in a partnership with him, COH shouldn't be move from the position he's been playing at cos he's should have been MOM for the last 4 games at least and with a combination of Campbell, Bamford & Cannon(whos starting to look good for some reason).

its a tricky one this if we want to carry on playing 2 strikers can we accomodate both hamer and o'hare ?

You can't really hold the Selles part of the season against any of the players stats wise brah. The guy had no clue.
I can use the 40 odd games from last season and the 12 from this where attacking looks painful without a targetman and O'Hare plays more as a defensive presser than getting on the ball in dangerous positions though.

But you keep telling yourself other stuff 🤷

If we switch to one up front, we lose our ability to progress the ball quickly via Bamford and we’re back to toiling across the lines in front of a low block.

I wonder whether a 5-3-2 with Riedewald, Hamer and COH? But puts a lot of pressure on JR.

My biggest issue last season was with the right hand side. Tried a ridiculous amount of right backs and none were effective in helping us attack. To make this even worse we would chop and change between JRS, Brooks, Brereton Diaz and randomly decide shoehorning Brewster on right wing was the way forward. If you're looking for a primary reason why our attack looked shit last season I'd say it was all the chopping and changing on the right, very annoying when JRS was clearly a cut above the rest.

Conversely this season it's just Ogbene or Brooks which is slim pickings in anyone's book.

I think what we have got at the moment suits the most amount of players in the squad. The front 4 can be mixed up in plenty of varieties, see what you think will work on the day. But the back 6 seem pretty settled and I feel confident we'll hold the bottom half teams to 0 or 1 most weeks

Agree on Bamford. Looked a lot like good McBurnie last night. We need to be able to get it forward quickly and for a risk averse manager, a targetman is essential

O'Hare and Hamer can't play together? Yet we managed 92 points last season with them largely playing together and went off the boil when Brewster replaced O'Hare.

No, no ,no! We look so must better with 2 upfront. Campbell and ings, Bamford and cannon, but Not Campbell and cannon.

I don't expect Hamer to have 90 minutes in him until the Christmas games at the earliest when rotation is par for the course anyway
