Competition Previous Result 2014-15
to come

Port Vale ? Lost there 2-1
Scunthorpe? Drew there 1-1 (Bogeyteam)
Crewe ? Thrashed 'em there 1 -0
Barnsley? Lost 1-0 here
Donnie? Won 1-0 there
Oldham? Drew 1-1 here (lucky to get a point)
Yeovil? Won 2-0 here (they will have nothing to play for then so should do us 2 or 3 nil)
Bradford? Won 2-0 there (how did we do that?)
Orient? 2-2 here (still fighting for their lives?)
Chesterfield? Lost 3-2 there

I can see 12 points absolute max but 8 more like: wins against Vale & Crewe, and draws with Scunny, Orient

Enough for the playoffs?

Could well be true although I believe we'll do a little better than that.

It's a weak league and even though our form has been well under par, as we have proved, anybody can still pick up the points. Looking at who we are playing between now and the end of the season, it just goes to show that securing our place in the play offs is going to be a challenge.

Securing a place in the top six is one thing, however, competing [if we do make it there] is another matter entirely. Watching that last night, it's going to call for a significant improvement across the club both tactically and on the pitch.

None of them. We may as well just pack it in now and let the players go on holiday.

So your expectation is that we get 7 from 9 points next with all the upturn in mood and confidence that would bring, before then losing five games straight, picking up a point at Orient, then losing again?

I'd bet my house against that. If we fail, as we might, it will be more of a death by a thousand needles with plenty of draws being our downfall.

We've comfortably beaten the team that is running away with the league in their own back yard.

We can beat anyone.

I have no idea how many points we will get and nor does anyone else. I dont know why the team is underperforming but I can see that virtually every post on here contains at best sarcasm but also vitriol and bile directed at the club we are supposed to love and support and those who run it or play for it. Ok it is down to disappointment and anger because we expected better but I believe now our biggest enemy is fear and panic, it pervades here and doubtless spreads to the pitch and training ground and failure becomes a self fulfilling prophesy. I think the most constructive thing we can do is bite our collective lip until the end of the season and hope for the best. Think about something else.

It's all about momentum and confidence, Wolves aside (and we still ballsed that up), we've rarely hit the play-offs in decent form. Mores the pity that in Blackwell's 1st season and Clough's last year that we just failed to get there. Hopefully, the derby games later in the season will help if we can get going.

No, you'll have to explain it to me.

How, exactly, does sarcasm and bile on here, spread to the training ground and pitch?
Are our training sessions simply the players sat around Cloughies laptop shitting themselves at the fear of a vicious barb aimed at one of them? If so, that would certainly explain our set pieces at both ends of the field.

I suggest playing players out of position, not "going for it" for the full 90 and hoping we can keep a clean sheet when all logic suggest we can't are far more contributory factors to our current form. But hey, let's all blame those sat in the stands (can we have a "Our Fans are Cunts" forum Foxy?).

Have a like Fleety. Add Kendall's first season to the "if only" section as well please.

Port Vale - W 2-1
Scunthorpe - D 1-1
Crewe - W 2-0 (A clean sheet!)
Barnsley - L 0-2 (A thought that makes me want to vomit)
Doncaster - W 2-1
Oldham - W 2-0
Yeovil - L 0-1
Bradford - D 2-2
Orient - L 1-2
Chesterfield - W 2-0

Which makes it 17 points from the last 10 and 72 in total, which you'd think would be enough for the play offs. Peterborough for example would need 20 points from their last 9 to overtake us in that case.

Well its obvious isn't it that constantly talking down our chances on social media, in the pub, praise ang grumble or whatever is going affect the players, some more than others. It is pointless and negative

Who we gonna beat?

Here goes, don't all gang up on me if it's wrong...

Port Vale ? WIN
Scunthorpe? WIN
Crewe ? WIN
Barnsley? LOSE
Donnie? DRAW
Oldham? DRAW
Yeovil? DRAW but should Win
Bradford? DRAW
Orient? WIN
Chesterfield? WIN

So that's 5 wins, 4 draws and 1 Loss between now and the end of the season 19pts.

Everybody happy now?

Thank goodness for that, I was starting to feel negative...

Ok. You want Negative??

That means that we will finish on 74pts. Preston are already on 70pts so 2nd place has gone...

Damn, feel negative again. Or could it be watching the manager of my team set out to defend a 1-0 lead with some of the first half left at Walsall, when the team that has undoubted talents, but which does not include defending high balls into the box, struggle to a draw. Really, off the post, off the cross bar, free header wide (and I'll not include the possible penalty as it wasn't a high ball). That half glass full losing its centre of gravity...
