I watched a bit of that. The amount of 'afters' going on would have seen a football match abandoned due to lack of players. But it's acceptable in the sport's culture.

In football where the rules are much more precious we've ended up with a situation where players try to exploit that. It's not about manliness - it's just that gamesmanship operates wherever it finds the space.
 



I was disgusted with both the Bournemouth player collecting the ball when George Long had tried kicking the ball in to touch when an injured player required treatment, and the second incident with Pitman. It was blatant cheating.
 
One other thing I take from that video is that Kits is beginning to get a Jon Parkin-esque stomach!

Which brings me to the point is Ade Akinfenwa the fattest footballer playing in the Football League?

Asked for his response, Cherries star Pitman told the Daily Echo: “The geezer (Collins) just walked into me. There was no need for it.

“I think that is part and parcel of football and if he (Wilson) wants to go on about unsavoury incidents, he needs to have a closer look at his captain and what he does and how he conducts himself on the pitch.

“I have got to be honest, I am not that bothered about what he says and what he thinks. He is going to defend his players and that is fair enough.”

No you cheating scumbag there was no need to roll on the floor clutching your face as if he had elbowed you trying to get Collins sent off.

Never said there wasn't - where money's involved there is often cheating/corruption. I love Test Cricket but refuse to watch when teams from the Indian sub-continent are involved. Cheating bastards.

But compare and contrast Pitman with Manu Tuilagi. Had his ear almost torn off on Saturday. The doc. urged him to come off but Manu told him to just tape it up so he could carry on. He later had 19 stitches.
 
In fairness to what I have just seen he was bodychecked off the ball and perhaps should have received a free kick. What got me is that he held his face as if to say he had been elbowed. The mans a cheat which also perhaps gives up the myth that johnny foreigner is the only one to cheat and dive around these days. I'm of course assuming he isn't portugese :)

With regards to Howe and comments, I watched the Football League Show and he said fair play to us and that they huffed and puffed without reward.
 
Did anyone see the Bournemouth penalty claim on about the hour mark? Think it was a handball shout? Any fans who were there or anyone who has a clip would be appreciated. Thanks

Cross fired in from the Bournemouth right (might even have been Simon Francis) hit Collins on the arm as he slid in to block. Crosser to Collins distance was about 5 yards so there was little he could do but you've seen them given.

The Bournemouth fans were absolutely desperate at that point, hence the protests.

Yes, the rolling around, I've just had my nose broken routine was ridiculous, but lets be honest, it was a bit daft by Collins. Depends on the ref ultimately I suppose, but do that enough and someone will card you.

Its a good point.

I had my nose broken in a game. I sat up and held my hand under my nose as it was pissing with blood. I didn't wryth around. You know when you're hurt, you tend to just stay still and concentrate on the area of injury. You get things running through your head (like is it broken, check for blood, that twat just smashed me right in the face, i'll sort him out etc) but if you're actually hurt, you don't tend to roll about. You tend to lay still clutching the area which is hurt.

Collins recently had his cheek bone smashed. What was his reaction to that? I would imagine that he also just lay still.

Its a hot topic in football that Referees need to wise up a bit to players rolling around. It looks like this ref just saw the incident and worked out for himself that perhaps it wasn't as bad as the Bournemouth lad was making out. Afteral its a mans game. Get up knobhead. Well done Ref.

Makes you wonder why the Bournemouth lad didn't get a yellow though, but it seems that the ref waving it away is enough.

Theres a difference between the play acting you see and the genuine writhing of someone who has had their leg broken. Unfortunately I have seen people break bones and get seriously hurt when playing football (including myself) and you don't have the time to think about holding where it hurts. You normally get a sickening crack followed by everyone wincing and thanking god it wasn't them.
