Which other club have you got a soft spot for?

Since 1973 it has always been Hibs because of my class mate at boarding school. I still keep in touch with him and his favourite English team is the Blades. During my boarding school years, he came to my house for a weekend 5 times and we went to the 1-0 home win against Wolves in March 1975, 1-0 defeat at home to Coventry in Sept 1975, the 2-1 away defeat at Stoke in Nov 1975, the 4-1 home defeat against Wolves in March 76 and the 1-1 draw against Orient in Nov 76 also a day away from school and getting in my dad's car the 2-1 win at West Ham in Sept 74, the 1-0 defeat at Arsenal in Jan 76 and the 1-1 draw at Southampton in Sept 76. I got the chance to watch Hibs with him in the 2-0 defeat at Easter Road in Oct 93, the 1-1 draw at St Johnstone in Aug 1999 and 3-1 win at Falkirk about 4 or 5 years ago

Back in the early 90's I became an honorary Killie fan. I went up to Rugby Park a couple of times a season for a good few years both before and after the redevelopment and made a small group of friends who I still speak to today. Last went up about 2008 and I am hoping to go up again this season when fixtures don't clash. It's much harder in League One without the internation breaks etc.

My Kilmarnock fascination began when Ian Bryson came to The Lane. Me and a mate of mine at the time decided to be brave and make a trip north of the border to see Killie play, at the time we knew very little of what to expect and knowing how rough trips up Scotland could get we braced ourselves but we found a boozer and a few Killie fans were in, we explained to them why we were there and we ended up watching the match with them and having a few drinks afterwards. This went on a good few times afterwards.

They have been to the lane a few times as well and have had a drink in most of the pubs around london road as well as lion and cricketers and hopefully we will be going up there again this year and vice versa.

Spoke to Mick (Killie fan) a few months ago when Unsworth was rumoured to have been their new gaffer and we have tried since to arrange something so we will see.

There, probably bores you but I am indeed an honorary Killie fan. Only down side to it being I have always found it hard to support a team who play in Blue & White...........

No shit, Sherlock! :D

Don't really have one but if I couldn't watch United I would probably go to watch Chesterfield. Family ties.

In terms of overseas clubs, I've always been fond of AC Milan.

St Patricks athletic , champions of Ireland don't ya know , and in the champions league next year , { ok qualifier's } only time I 'll see European football from a team I follow , also had a soft spot for spurs , saw one of best games at the lane when we came from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 , then on way home found a spurs scarf on bus . thats my story and I'm sticking to it .

None really but if I lived in Sheffield it would be Sheffield FC.

As it is I live in Leeds and if I ever stopped coming to the Lane to watch, I'd probably go to Guiseley - just a few miles from where I live, decent beer and pies (and you can watch the match whilst eating and supping) and they don't have a bad little team sometimes.
I used to watch Guiseley when I worked out there, c.200o. Tony Agana played for them. Bobby Davison the manager then. My main team from now on is Sheffield fc. Blades are my 2nd team.

I worked in Chesterfield for 22 years and the Chesterfield fans hate both Sheffield clubs (they hate Wendy even more though) and they claim that we see Chesterfield as our big rivals which made me laugh!

Dronfield town
VfB Stuttgart
Barca
And a strange one - Man Utd due to a 'rather them than Chelsea/arsenal/Liverpool' mindset and Ive always respected how they built a dynasty on proper foundations.

Always had a soft spot for Spurs... Great to see a Blade becoming an integral part of their side!

I don't blame you, I'm going to start watching them. The crap football and arrogant 'footballers' at the Lane at present means I'm not spending any more money on them for the foreseeable future. I'd much rather give money to an honest club who's players play football in the right way i.e. lack of cheating and for the love of the game, rather than most of the prima donnas now who are in it solely for the money.

At school we wore this very flash white, black and green kit. Numbers on the shorts and everything. Investigation found it was the home kit of Borussia Monchengladbach. This and the fact that they had the German TC playing at the time (Gunter Netzer) made me follow their fortunes ever since.

Growing up I adored Thierry Henry and he's probably my favourite ever player so I've always had a bit of a soft spot for Arsenal.

Best team in English football history right there.

I tend to find they have a better relationship with us than pigs because of the geography. I've never felt much hostility from them but then again I know only a few.

Do go there, it`s not far from S8, and none of the hassles you get at league grounds. No restrictions on where to stand or to sit, it is much nicer an experience than going to the lane. Most of the fans are Blades and admission is 7 quid a go.

Boston United. A five-minute walk from my house. Never overcrowded, so you can move around. Biggest crowds in the Conference North (around 1,000). The legendary Albert Tunstall was once their manager and there have been several Blades connections since. Ian Ross is the current captain. And they're doing quite well this season.

I liked Leatherhead and Blyth Spartans in the 70's cos they were great giant killers in the FA cup.

The same, my best mate is a Spurs fan and his dad took us to White Hart Lane as young kids

Exactly the same happened to me! My first matches were at White Hart Lane. I wouldn't say I have a soft spot for Spurs though I much prefer them to Arsenal, but I've always watched them alot because a fair chunk of my mates were Spurs fans.

The Arsenal for me, they just seem to do it right.

Rotherham for my Grandad.

Also look for York City, Southampton and Hull results.

Shit! Just me for Blades only?
Guess I'm hurting the most then - all the rest of you have summat else to fall back on

Beginning to wonder when my ball's going to be inflated again, if ever :(

One Christmas I got a subbuteo team, green and white stripes. Since then it has been Forfar for me. Not that I have seen them play though. I have watched Laval twice on holiday.
In t'owd days my Grandfather despite being a Blade would go with a group of mates and watch United one week and Wednesday the next.
Does anyone know of this sort of thing still happening?
