We still need to drive a stake through the heart of the playoff curse, but with any luck we won't be anywhere near them again for many many years. That fight will have to wait for another time.

Blimey, sorry I should have made it clear - the gods would have to guarantee the right result beforehand. I’m being overly picky and it’s just a pub question but, in a perfect worldI I guess I would have loved yesterday to have been 100% confirmation of promotion so that Chris and the boys could have gone mental

As we have had 9 play offs overall and won NONE then always wanted Auto .
Seems a nice thought to win at Wembley and go up but even winning that means that the planning for next season is around a month to 5/6 weeks behind everyone else so always go up Auto.
Beginning of season thought our best chance was a play off spot and that if anyone could break the hoodoo it would be the Messiah CW so going up in 2nd place (or even 1st) is a dream come true !

Maybe they can introduce play offs for Champions League places

Top two automatically qualify, then 3rd and 4th have to qualify along with the top ten in the Premier League

That would mean 8 teams, down to 4, down to 2, the winner qualifies and the runner up goes into the earlier preliminary rounds.

More importantly we can start making inroads into CWs wish list now we know which division we will be in, that’s a full 4 weeks of negotiation time before the play off final winners can move with conviction

For what it’s worth I kinda want Boro to make it, not spent millions and probably the weakest for us next season
