None of this is anywhere near my level of complete indifference to the England national team. I have no idea when or where they next play or the opposition. I haven't a clue which World Cup group they are in or which small nations, with unknown players of far greater quality and technique than the latest iteration of the Golden Generation, have the misfortune to be in there with them.

I don't know who they played last or what the score was. Outside of the major tournaments I only learn of their results by sheer chance, never going out of my way to find out.

I have greater interest in the fortunes of Inverurie Locos.
