There’s no conspiracy or secret, listen to Wilders interview yesteday and he explains the situation with Brooks.
Think he said the only doubts were Wilson, Brooks and Holmes.

It boils down to this.

Wilder is far from a "yes man". Had he been told to wrap Brooks in cotton wool for a Summer move (ridiculous this far out), then he'd have a) said "do one" to the board, and b) shared the info in the public realm.

He's had an issue with his back after time spent doing little due to glandular fever. And there's no real gain to risk him in chilly weather. As evidenced by four injuries o the pitch last night.

Having heard Wilder’s comments this week regards budgets and directions, I’m beginning to think that it matters fuck all what the transfer fee will be because McCabe won’t give Wilder much anyway.

We were top of the league when January’s budget was set (October). If the board couldn’t see then that a good chunk of money would assist us they never will. We could sell for £40m and Wilder would get the petty cash
