Taking nothing away from Billy, but he's now become the second division's leading scorer since it's second change of name in 2004-5. They aren't counting the 112 years that it wasn't called 'The Championship'. It's a bit crap for those players who have scored more second-tier goals than Billy.
Not that I begrudge our Billy any glory but 2004=5 was a rebrand and administrative shake up. Same happened after the top tier became the Premiership (later rebranded the PL). The second tier was rebranded the First Division. Same number of teams, same format (except when the Prem reduced to 20). We shouldn't expunge the great players of the past because the 2nd division is organised a bit differently.I know where you are coming from but in theory Football League Second Division folded in 2004 after the rebrand to EFL Championship (Coca-Cola Championship) so its a new business. Do MK Don's keep track of players that played for the original Wimbledon?
Yes it’s all relative, just one of your posts is like being stuck in a time loop.Keeps scoring ? Please define how many goals is keep scoring ?
5 gold from open play in 25 APPS that’s about 9 a season
you can score a goal every 10 games and still be described as keep scoring
You could say We keep playing in the premier league when it’s twice in the last 15 years![]()
Some posters need an agenda. I forgot who it was but someone said Lundstram hadn't played 50 PL games for us because they don't count sub appsExplain why you don’t include them then please

How did your pal McBurnie’s last penalty attempt go?!Of course they count but you would expect any professional footballer to score a penalty IMO
Chris porter took a good penalty would I want him in my team no
And the one before thatHow did your pal McBurnie’s last penalty attempt go?!
Except about a quarter of all penalties are missed...Of course they count but you would expect any professional footballer to score a penalty IMO

Now at 110. Just how many more can Bully get? Another 10 this season would probably see us in the play offs. Never write him off. When I first posted this list, Sharp was 22nd. Now it's a top 10.
Harry Johnson 201
Alan Woodward 158
Keith Edwards 143/144
Jimmy Dunne 143
Derek Pace 140
Fred Tunstall 129
Billy Gillespie 127
Jimmy Hagan 117
Jock Dodds 113
Billy Sharp 106
Can he catch Jock Dodds this season?
We would be in a sorry state without him , probably playing the neighbours , God knows where is replacement is coming from when he retires. Now at 110. Just how many more can Bully get? Another 10 this season would probably see us in the play offs. Never write him off.
One of the bravest players I've seen in my 55 years at the Lane - I have photos of TC & Woody on my wall but Dearden was equally heroic yet unsungWhilst others were fawning over Currie and Woodward, my hero was Billy. Don't get me wrong, I could see how good Currie and Woody were but I just loved Billy. I was only 13. I think he was so underrated.
You’d like to think he could still surpass Jimmy Hagan, by the end of the season. Now at 110. Just how many more can Bully get? Another 10 this season would probably see us in the play offs. Never write him off.
Another question is how is Keith Edwards 143/144 wthaf? Which one is it?
Gillingham away 1983/84
Gillingham away 1983-4.
Edwards shoots. Ball hits one of John Sitton’s legs (yes, that John Sitton) then the other leg, and goes in. Sitton standing in front of the goal. Recorded as an own goal, Blades fans who were there see it as an Edwards goal.
Brave as a lion was Billy D. Always underrated. One of the bravest players I've seen in my 55 years at the Lane - I have photos of TC & Woody on my wall but Dearden was equally heroic yet unsung
He played better tonight then he has done recently, but he's been on a poor run of form imo.Shame the second goal was judged marginally offside, that would have been a great hat trick. There were calls for Billy to be benched tonight. I understand that his overall game has it's limitations, but no one can finish like him. Can't see McGoldrick, McBurnie or even Brewster having such an instinctive finish as our Bill. First name on the teamsheet on current form
Opps didn't see this pic further up , ohh well worth looking at again !!
