Oh how wonderful it must be when the penny drops !! We are all now seeing the results,it's taken a bit longer than Nigel probably thought it would, but it is now plain to see that they have got it,they have all got it !!!!
We defend wonderfully, counter attack effectively, and we have an eye for goal.....Confidence is everything.I sat there tonight and thought about the odd-ball mis - match bunch that Nigels Dad put together at Forest, fatty Robertson, slow and laboured Larry lloyd, one paced McGovern but they had a system that they all understood
and achieved great success.
I am staggered just how effective and important Doyle has become within the 'diamond' defensive set-up that is the foundation of our recent success,i thought he couldn't play, how wrong was i,he was magnificent tonight.

Lovely to read such a positive post, the only gripe I'd have is with your comment about this taking so long for results to come. Personally I think to have changed things around in such a short period, what is it, about six months(?), is remarkable. In what seems like no time at all Nigel Clough has assessed the state of the playing staff, acted decisively, and the consequence of all of this is that we're now 10th in this division.

The level of dedication that Clough had brought to bear shows how good a manager he is. He has a determination that we've needed. I can't recall when we last had someone at the helm who brought such belief to the team and to the fans. Is this a honeymoon period? Who knows or cares, but what I do sense is that we have a manager capable of lifting us higher, so the directors of our club better be ready to back him over the next couple of years if they want to take United forward. Relationships demand that both parties play fairly, with transparency, and most importantly, with the same desire and willingness to go that extra mile. I don't doubt our manager for one moment, now we have to see if the board have the same backbone and tenacity as Nigel Clough.

Yep, Spot on.
The manager has shown the board what can be achieved with putting faith in people, the players. The very same players lots were slagging off as 'not proper footballers', look at them flourish. and our own astonishment through posts questioning or wondering about his team picking over the last couple of weeks and all of a sudden we seem to have a strength in depth beyond most peoples wildest dreams.
Our latest signing, no one talked much of him because we were so wrapped up in the success of Harris Scougall and the Beard that we thought it was just a stopgap signing. But signed at the perfect time when the injuries came, he is proving to be just as much of a success as the others.
In the past when our managers have had all their hard work ripped out from under them we have moaned and groaned but kept coming to games because we may have thought in the long run it was for the best. Our present board better not dare to challenge what is being built by NC or many will have been conned for the last time. And if that board keeps faith then so should we the fans even if we have a setback of dare i say yo yo style. Non of this 'he's taken us as far as he can nonsense'. As I said in his early days, and I'm convinced we all want the same on this, that Mr Nigel Clough I want to become our greatest ever manager.
The man has so far been dead lucky with his signings OR he's all the prophets rolled in to one Or he's having divine help OR he is God himself Or the Son of God sent to deliver us from evil (footballing Gods),( Sorry Atheists). I don't and i think we don't really care as long as it continues.
This season may turn out to be a nothing season or in our wildest dreams it could turn out to be the greatest three months in our history.
He's certainly got us all excited and the pride is growing day by day. At 3.40 am I'm raising my glass to salute you.
To NIGEL CLOUGH.
