When was the last time a team lost a penalty shootout after the opposition missed their first three penalties?

It had never happened until we did it.

When was the last time a team got relegated on goal difference by one goal from the Premier League?

It had never happened until we did it.

When was the last time a team had their best player banged up three games before the end of the season?

It had never happened until we did it.

It's about time we actually won somthing and lifted some silverware.
Be disappointed if the best team in the league don't finish in the best position.

Im pretty sure the penalty happened before

and is it really a comparison
as for ched even if one of players raped someone today wouldnt be in court before the season ends

we have to , have to stop living in the past

this is now
this is our best ever team , against its peers

even if we only win 5 of the last ten

that will put us 26 points clear of third
meaning one of those teams from 3rd down will need to get 27 points from 30

tell me who you thinks capable of that

which team is going on their best run in their history

I find it really hard to believe some still fear failure , with this team

are we not by some distance the best team in this league
we have lost 1 league game in 2017

but miraculously we are going to lose 6 of ther last 10

explain how thats possible with our remaining fixtures
weve done all the hard ones

Where s the punctuation police when you need them?? Tyler, tell him to get his trousers on! He's nicked!!!

I think it is unlikely we will blow it now, but will celebrate when it is mathematically certain. I remember the last time we got promoted from this league we would only have missed out if we had lost 13-0 at Bristol City on the last game of the season. Bassett put a goalkeeper as sub when this was unheard of. I thought he was wise to do so.

If we were going to blow it, we'd have lost last night, on the back of a poor performance at Rochdale.

shows how desperate the nay sayers are getting, joining the grammar police in force
as they cant ague against us going up

Did we win our 'game in hand'?

When was the last time a team got relegated when a combination of 5 teams all had to get a result ? it had never happened until we did it!
When was the last time a team got relegated in a play off ? It had never happened until we did it (mind you it hasnt happend since as they only did it once!)

Did we win our 'game in hand'?

When we'd caught up with Wigan's number of games, back in '82, it looks like we'd effectively drawn the two games in hand
27/4/82, with 4 games left to go -
Both us and Wigan on 84 pts (United top on goal difference).

As regards the 89/90 season, we caught up with Leeds in terms of games played 2 games later &, yep, we had won the game in hand and had cut their lead to 4 pts.

Should really have done 2006 too - Div. 2, 25/2/06, with 10 games to go...

1. Reading 36; 26-8-2; 86
2. United 36; 22-8-6; 74
3. Watford 36; 19-10-7; 67
4. Leeds 35; 19-9-7; 66
5. Palace 35; 17-9-9; 60
6. Preston 34; 13-16-5; 55

And 1989 - Div. 3, 8/4/89, 10 to go

1. Wolves 38; 23-9-6; 78
2. Port Vale 38; 20-10-8; 70
3. United 36; 21-6-9; 69
4. Bristol Rovers 38; 18-13-7; 67
5. Fulham 39; 19-6-14; 63
6. Preston 40; 16-12-12; 60

All to illustrate we're in no way used to being front-runners (not at this late stage anyway). Unprecedented territory!

So do I, but there is still that nagging, irritating little thought at the back of my mind that we are the masters of the late-game fuckup.

I GENUINELY believe now (reinforced by last night's result) that we are not only going up, but going up as champions and joining the elite club comprising Wolves, Preston and Burnley (I think) that have been champions of all 4 divisions. But as a blade...I won't TRULY accept it until the league table shows us 7 clear of 2nd (for champions) or 3rd (for promotion) with 2 games left. It's annoying, but it's how it is after 21 years (in my case) of eternal hope being dashed by last-minute heartbreak.

When was the last time a team 8pts clear at the top of the league got relegated?

Won't happen so chill.
