....to be like yesterday!

Got up early for work on my birthday and, after getting a new United Jumper from my wife (unheard of cos she hates football) and SUFC socks from my grandson who’s dad is a piggie, my wife said, as she left the house, “enjoy the footie”. That NEVER happens.

Was expecting to finish work at about 1:30 but got done for 12:15. Headed for home to get changed and off to beautiful downtown Bramall Lane and a couple of beers. Had a couple with my mates in the Railway before the game and just had a feeling that we would score plenty or get tonked. Sat with my mate who was telling anybody who’d listen and a few that wouldn’t that it was my birthday and what an old grumpy get I am. Imagine his face when the woman sat next to me said I look about 53, 54 and not 62! By the way, before all the clever two hats in this site say “was it you scoring the goal at half time?” No, it wasn’t! I’m 62 not 92!

Well, Billy scores a hat trick and we won 4-2 as you know, the fowls lose and we are top of the tree! The only way my Saturday could get any better was if Mrs LTT was very generous with her helping of Birthday ‘friendliness’ and she......well, I am too much of a gentleman to discuss that. Needless to say it was a fantastic day. If Carling made birthdays, that would DEFINITELY be it. Thank you RAWW’s (and Mrs LTT)! UTB and FTP

You young lads are so crude thesedays y'know. It's nowt to do with you if Mrs LTT "teks it in't skull", "guz darn fo' t gravy". or "teks it up the running track". What goes on behind closed doors an all that eh?

What I can tell you is that there is many a good tune to be played on an old fiddle. I know, because I'm married to an old fiddle myself. She's a bit "highly strung" at times, but her sound holes still reverb as good as what they did when she was new. I just have to rosin up my bow for a bit longer before we get started now, but otherwise nothing has changed.
