Had a discussion in the pub this morning before the game - due to work commitments I will miss Thursday night's play-off semi. Some of my companions accused me of being a money grabbing turncoat or worse.
So here's the thing - the discussion eventually landed up with this poser -----

"For how much money, cash in hand, would you sit on the kop at Hillsborough during one of their home games wearing a Wednesday home shirt?"

We had a couple who said "no amount of money" would they do it for - though one did relent when we got up to £25,000. The lowest amount was £250 - most settled at £1,000 to £5,000.

Me - I'd relent at around £1,000 - for a one game only - and I'd burn shirt afterwards!

Whats your price?

I have enough money to be happy, not saying I got much (far from it) but in short, no, I wouldn't sit in the Bacon Dome for personal gain unless it's the away end.

Mrs HB however reckons £20 should be enough for me, given the money gone on beer and cider this afternoon.

I have my principles.....no, never...not ever....not for any amount....I have my pride.
Does that cover it?

How much do the club pay theirs fans to do it, the price of a free ticket?

I will sit on their shitty kop for a grand. But to wear one of those shirts - one hundred thousand dollars.

If it was a Pig paying take his money. What does wearing a pig shirt and sitting in their ground prove? You are a blade before you walk in, a blade whilst you are sat there for 90 minutes doing nowt and a blade who is x amount richer when you walk out. Cash in, the pig may have a fun 5 minutes of pointing and laughing like the thick playground bully but it will soon wear off when he realises you have had the last laugh, pocketing his dough, especially as you will send him the shirt back in the post 2 days later, (that you obviously made him pay for) having wiped your curry and ale infused shitty arse on.

I have stood on the Wednesday Kop, no shirt though

1968-ish, 2 mates bugged me into going, paid for the bus, and paid for the Ticket to get in

They were at Home to Scunthorpe in the Cup, they lost, a kid called Keegan scored one of the Scunny Goals

:)
