What's your best post ever?

It was a post I made after Adkins last game against Scunthorpe. I said, 'Times may seem hard but better times are around the corner. I think we will get Wilder as manager and after a dodgy start we will win the league with 100 points. We'll then go to Hillsborough and stop them Bouncing, the following season we will win promotion, finishing above Leeds after a great win at Elland Road. We will do superbly in the Premier League and will be seriously talking about playing in Europe going into March'. I then went on to predict Brexit, President Trump and Boris Johnson becoming PM, before warning about a deadly virus coming from China. Sadly I can't find any record of this post.

Be dead handy if you could do same with season/match tickets.
Just in case.

I was looking back for a quote I made about not spending a million on a right back in relation to comments about Brayford on another thread when I came across this.

It's in response to a rumour about Wilder becoming our manager in April 2013.

If only Kev had listened to me then 🤣

What's your best post that's stood the test of time?

That was indeed a good shout Maidenhead - credit to you for that one. It'll take some beating!

TBH - I really can't be arsed to trawl back through my thousands of past posts to see if I came out with anything worthwhile! Most of it is shite that I write and done deliberately to take the piss or act vacant. However, the one thing I usually am is positive and ambitious for the Blades. (Mostly anyway!). So when we drew at Ipswich last season and this messageboard was in meltdown, saying the play-offs are out of reach now, I came back very strong about that - I was genuinely annoyed at the really negative attitude of many on here, just because we only drew with the bottom club. It's like some folks felt we had a God-given right to beat teams like that. We don't. We still don't. So try not to let it get to you if we don't beat both Reading and Norwich this week. That's just football - nothing can be taken for granted.

Oh yes and the other thing - and again it's to do with negative attitudes - which you've probably gathered, I absolutely despise - is about where we would finish this season. And all those fans who wanted to see "consolidation" and "4th bottom". I've always railed against that as well. My old boss used to say to me,

"Aim for the stars and you might hit the shit-house roof, aim for the shit-house roof and you'll end up down the pan".

Sage advice - and it applies to football most definitely - and also to life.

Good job that I'm not a millennial or a snowflake and I couldn't give a stuff.

In fact I so much couldn't give a stuff that I hadn't noticed until you pointed it out 🤣

soz pal, just liked it.

I think I'm in the clear with CW, but my views on us signing Billy Sharp for a third go at it are still up there on Facebook for the whole world to see. It's good to be hopelessly wrong from time to time!

David Frain's brother predicted that 3 years before you

...And we go back to November 2009, when the talk was of sacking Blackwell and who might be next.

Didn't see Chris Wilder on that list!

We cant play him if he has a top knot.
Tha in sheffeld na lad.
The above post was about Rick Holmes I was nearly correct

Opened an envelope with a cheque for £10k 2 months after splitting up with my ex, was quite nice.

Without trawling through years of old posts this recent post seems to have induced some top quality banter at the expense of Jon Maclure, everyone's favourite piggy popstar

That nob from reverend and the makers thinks he knows someone willing to buy the club. This thread is a good read:

Might need to resurrect it this year (let’s wait until after tomorrow night) but the gist of it was

“What a set of FUCKING CUP TARTS” under niggly Nige when we could beat almost anyone in a cup game but fuck up the most tedious league game in divvy 3 - often not even venturing into the opposition half for the first 45 mins of a game.

Dread to think what could still be lurking in the “site image proxy” Foxy 😳

Ha
Seem to recall I doomed Sharpy to fail miserably in a third spell, too.
Pleased to be proven wrong by him. He’s been immense on and off the pitch.
We were all suffering from Adkinsitis at the time, though. And the “room for improvement” was fucking huge.

This:

Wilder would be perfect young hungry up and coming manager that knows the league and actually gives a toss about the club

I think the author of that thread deserves great credit...…..
