What's with all the negative waves...

I'd add to that. Better teams make the opposition look poor. That's how it works.

People are asking where the effort is, and why certain players aren't doing it? The answer is largely simple - our opponents are better.
But not considerably better which is the good thing. We've still done well possession wise and created a few chances but yep, the mistakes will be punished defensively and the strikers aren't going to be able to take 1 in 5 chances.

What we don't know is how good our 3 opponents so far are. Brentford are struggling but could easily have beaten us if they'd taken their chances. Had we got a draw on Satdi and gone 1 up yesterday with the pen, who knows but as said earlier, Tufty at least knows where the problems are.

Let's be honest we've been absolutely spoilt for the last year or so, and we're not used to seeing them struggling.

Moriarty?

I've just woken up in my Cardiff hotel room and looked at the league table and we're 17th

I'd take that next May as a realistic first season back BUT we're only 2 points off the play offs, above our South Barnsley neighbours and we have a home game coming up on Saturday.

Life is good.

Don't worry, be happy.

That's all :)

Those voicing doom and gloom already will be at fever pitch if we don't beat Barnsley ( who are a good side). All the old tripe is emerging already and we might even hear some dissent in the stands on Saturday. Every club has the moaning pessimists and morons and so does every fans forum. Moaners have short memories and lack the maturity to keep the faith when the inevitable harder times emerge. We have fans on here who need to post something, they even post ' I am shaking with nerves' near the end of games when we are only one goal ahead. It's their need as is the need to voice negativity for the sake of it. And then one or two are surely Wendyites, chipping away. They have all been quiet in the marvellous past months but they are all still there and they are biding their time.

Support has many forms and everyone has the roght to voice their opinions, of course they do. Thing is any club or forum could do without them when our management team are up to their necks in all the new challenges they have to adapt to a higher, rich, quality division. The answer is not just to spend money, we have wasted loads in the past. The answer is to build something that gets stronger week by week and progresses us to where we want to go. Wilder and Knill are suddenly making things possible. Let's support them all the way.

Wednesday fought relegation for their first 3 seasons in the Championship.

Agreed Swiss.

I know I'm becoming repetitive but it's the speed of thought and movement we're struggling with at the attacking end for both teams. Our defenders will hopefully grow into reading this from other teams and I'm still hopeful that our attacking players can make it more difficult for opposing defenders to read what they are doing. I don't think we're struggling technically but our players do need to adapt to the speed of the game in this division fairly quickly.
Yeah I think that 'speed of thought' and movement is probably the biggest issue. Anticipating a pass. Making the move to receive a pass and then seeing 2-3 passes ahead. I'm actually surprised that we're so far off the pace on this

Exactly what I've said after the first two away games. We're seriously lacking movement when in possession. This is slowing down the play and allowing the opposition to regroup and get back behind the ball.

It'll come...Just need Wilder to keep the lads heads up.

Two poor decisions have cost us; our goal at Boro and the hand ball/penalty last night. The first would have seen us get a draw and last night (if we had scored from the penalty) would have changed the complexion of the game.

Yes, there are still the other factors that need to be looked at; pace, clinical finishing, speed of thought, knowing what your team mate is about to do and anticipating it, but it's not like we took a 5-0 beating and no shots on target.

I wasn't there last night, work reasons, but it sounds like Ched was lively when he came on, and Brooks seemed to be creating and a threat as well.

So for me, I think we need to take a gamble and tweak the team for Saturday.

Lafferty for Stevens, as Lafferty can score, as last season proved.

Ched for Sharp or Clarke.

Duffy or Brooks for Carruthers. Duffy looked much better at Boro, to me, than Samir.

CW and AK WILL get this right, we will not be relegated, they will point to decisions going against us to keep the lads spirits up, and get them up for the next game, and the next, and the next.

No negativity from me, just sober reflection. We've lost two matches against teams that will be in the promotion mix. I would also argue that we looked quite comfortable against Boro in patches, where as Cardiff turned us over incredibly easily. But we shouldn't be too downhearted as they will do this to a lot of teams.
The dodgy officiating cannot go on much longer [happened in every match so far] but it will be a season of ups and downs regardless.
We were spoilt last time out, and long overdue it was. Whilst I will never forget that season it's time to move on and adopt the underdog mentality, if only for a little while.
