What's up with you all for god sake?

I didn't actually think we played that well today. We could have won it by a few, sure, but we also could have lost. Can't have been many in the ground that didn't think Madden was going to bury that one near the end!

We had a few chances but only a couple of great ones, and no bugger seemed willing to shoot. Hanson had a shocker too, admittedly not helped by a referee determined to punish him for everything. Personally I'd have taken him off at Half Time because between his poor display and Jones' ineptitude he was more hindrance than help.

I think we'll get done next Saturday, hopefully we'll be back to pulling the weaker teams apart after that. We just need to hope we show the most bottle.
Did you go to the match? If so you saw a different game to me

Yeah not had an issue, certainly not in the last couple on seasons. Can't recall a time it's not connected fine and been on the Kop and the South Stand, not sat in John St recently though.

That always been with O2? As my brother gets good O2 signal and he sits on the South Stand.

I think I have some sort of issue with O2 on my phone. Grrr!

Oh I agree we were the better side and could have won handsomely. But I didn't think we were that great. We certainly failed to turn the screw when they went down to ten men (quelle surprise) and to be honest in the last ten minutes we had as many let-offs as they did.

The fact that we had four bookings goes to show we weren't in complete control, and each one of them was justified (although you could argue Duffy shouldn't have been in position to make that foul as their winger had already taken the ball out of play).

We failed to break down ten men. We were unlucky not to, perhaps, but it's still the case. Strange that you can't conceive that anyone might think that was a sign of a performance that was less than perfect but there you go.

We might play shit next week and win 3-0 it evens out over the season.

The thing is I'm not even unhappy with the game. It was a good point, one I'd have taken before the game. And it showed that in all probability Scunthorpe won't be any threat. I'm certainly not miserable about it all. It's just that when all is said and done I didn't think the performance was that great. Certainly not after Wimbledon the other week.

On another note,(not going to start a new thread just for this) does anyone know how important Toffolo is to Scunthorpe over the next 2-3 games, was he an important part of their squad.

O'Shea's shot goes an inch to the left and we'd have played a Worldy.

We made them look ordinary and they have been solid away from home.

We looked like a team from at least one division above dominating a team from div 3 that are well organised and dangerous.

The football in the first half was amongst the best we've seen all season. Accurate, rapid and effective pass and move. They couldn't get near us. We made them look like a bunch of Montgomeries.

If we keep playing as well, we'll win the league.

I don't know. I do hope their number 30 stays fit though. One of the most useless lumps I have ever seen masquerading as a professional footballer.

What fucking match did you watch ?

Totally agree with the OP - I think a lot of people complaining simply don't watch football for the right reasons.

If you watched that performance - in which we dominated the 2nd best team in the league for huge periods of the 90 minutes in such a fantastic atmosphere - and came away feeling down about the state of your club then I'm sorry but you need to start looking elsewhere for your football.

and yes, a win would have been fantastic but equally a loss would have been terrible. A draw is far better for us than it is for Scunny. They have far more reason to feel a chance has been missed than us.

If their late shot had gone in we'd have been in negative meltdown, but if O'Shay's had gone in it'd have been almost 100% positive and adulation on here. Fine margins, a lick of paint on both posts shouldn't really distract or alter people's views, but of course it would have.

On here as in life there are the glass half-empty, the half-fulls, the easily lead and the never ever be swayed. Just as long as any person negatives are kept to the forums and not allowed to creep onto the terraces I think we'll be reight.

First half we were unplayable, Scunny must have wondered what hit them as we kept them in their half time after time.

Going down to 10 men made changed the game, they camped behind the ball and tried the long ball to counter. In some respects I think we would have won if they had kept all 11 players on pitch

It must be said I frequently see different matches against Scunthorpe to everyone else. I remember that 'masterclass' a few years ago where we ended up losing 4-0.

When all is said and done we didn't win yesterday. The football was great in the first half but there wasn't much end product. After they went down to ten men, when only had as many chances to win it as they did.

We've played better before and we will again.

Personally I'm just disappointed we dropped points when we shouldn't have. It feels like a big opportunity missed. Regardless of how well we played Scunny took the same amount of points as we did. It's not a dig at the team they clearly went out to win the game. Still, a win on Saturday makes it a good haul from 2nd and 3rd places teams.

Scunny's number 8 looked like an MMA fighter.

In fact their entire team came across as a bit thuggish.
