Another cameo where he doesn't look like he can be arsed.

Does he believe his own hype?
Is he playing with an injury?
Is he fat and unfit?
Or is he just a lazy bastard?

This isn't the same player who dragged us through games last season. He's now 4th choice for me.

A great performance for 70 mins, but as soon as we brought Campbell on and Bamford wasn't an option upfront we looked a bit lost. I like Campbell but I must admit it wouldn't take much for me to consider selling him this month.

Not in the best of form, maybe carrying an injury. With TC in good form, he’s more than adequate off the bench.

Non of the above but hes not an impact substitute and we didn't need that yesterday either.
Squad game and theres competition for places ,how it should be . Expect he'll still play an important part for the remainder of the season .

Campbell was our only forward who had real dynamic pace, last night he lost a 50m foot race to their number 4 by some distance.

What’s worse, he looks disinterested, lazy and at least a stone overweight, his biggest asset was his explosive pace over the first 10m but there’s been little evidence of that in recent games.

He certainly appears to have had a good Christmas. 🎄

Thing is that the squad isn't fit enough to continue the press from the first half into the latter stages of the second half. To be fair, I am not sure how many teams could.

So I am assuming that we are now making substitutions with a different strategy behind them. So Campbell is coming on the pitch, and isn't expected to be pressing in the same way Cannon and Bamford has been. This makes it look like Campbell isn't doing as good a job and I don't think that is quite fair.

However, Campbell is clearly not in form as when he did get on the ball he just wasn't as sharp as previous. Thats the thing with forwards, we need 4 in the squad to be able to rotate in and out. He will come good again.

I think its all hamstring related. Ive said this before but hes not fully extending his legs when running. Hes running straight legged to protect his hamstrings.

Being out of form doesn't mean you can't run

It often goes hand in hand. Players lose form, then lose motivation, then don't put in a proper shift. It doesn't mean there's a deeper reason.

Let's look back at threads on Peck earlier in the season. I can guarantee there'll be comments about him not putting the effort in. Then on later posts where his form has come back, there will be comments on his energy returning too.

We see threads such as this season in, season out. I'm not referring to the OP here, but the amount of times players are written off, rather than discussing form in isolation is hilarious. We never learn.

Wonder with Ty whether it’s a case of needing starts to stay sharp. But obviously that’s an issue when you can’t do regular 90 min games, or even regular starts, especially over a period like this. Do think that’s the reason he’s not at full pelt when he comes on towards the end of a game like last night though.

This

Surely if the goals aren’t going in, you run even more to
A) try harder
B) bring something else to the game

Last season he was the main man, now he’s not, so he either try’s harder to win back his place or sulks a bit - hopefully it’s a niggle he’s carrying and not been mardy

He came off injured in the pig game when we ushed jim for 75 minutes and hasn't been the same since. I do think the effort was there at Stoke and Wrexham. Yesterday he couldn't get going.

What a load of wafffle tosh crap this thread is

We dont half have a bunch of half arsed fair weatehr fans

Take your Hamer and Campbell posters down and burn them

Replace them with Cannon and Soumare ones that you were throwing darts at last week you bunch of fairweather fans

Get a grip you bunch of drips and back the side

I don't think Campbell has ever really impressed as a lone striker, or the 9 in a pair. He's a great finisher, but he's never been a target man and his link up play isn't all that. That said the abuse he was getting from some of the people around me when he came on last night was ridiculous.

Just to play devil's advocate a bit, when you're making a tactical substitution at that stage in the game, where we were already well in control of the game, I'm not sure Campbell can be held fully responsible for not having an adequate impact on the game. I think we were trying to manage the game out which doesn't lend itself to a striker showing what he's capable of.

I don't really care what you of all people have to say 😂

It's ridiculous how as soon as someone doesn't look 100%, they get accused of being lazy.

Maybe he just needs a GREAT BIG HUG!

Campbell has never been a player to hold the ball up and bring others into the game. He's always relied on clever balls for him to run into largely supplied in past bt Hamer. Hamer not been playing much and certainly not the player of last season so supply not there. Having said that Ty doesn't look fit and not the player he was last season. As some have said his lack of form seems to be traced back to the Hillsborough game so maybe he has an ongoing injury?

Any truth that his agent asked for 30k a week and Wilder told him to do one ?

He looks a shadow of the player he looked last season. If you can't see that there's no helping you
