What would you class as a successful transfer window?

I think if we can sign 1 defensive & 1 midfielder and clear the decks with the squad players who are not good enough, paving the way for a busy summer transfer window.

As you say, if we sign the 2 lads weve.been linked with at Anderlecht and Ipswich that will do. An extra striker would be the icing on the cake but I think they will prove too expensive in this window.

Id be cautions about clearing out too many squad players as so far weve done very well avoiding inury and that may not continue

As always, it will be determined at the end of the season.

What's our target now as the transfer window unfolds? Staying Up, 10th, Europa Qual., Champions League, Other?
Whatever the target is, if we hit that target the Window was a success, if we don't then it's fallen short.

Wilder signing a new contract and nobody in the first team squad leaves. Everything else is just gravy.
Disagree, we need to gradually improve the squad not wait until the summer and change the bulk of the team.

the 2 defensive players, and a midfielder and a striker

Keeping hold of the mainstay of our team and a couple of additions down the right hand side of the defence/midfield.

January will matter more to clubs down the bottom looking for quick fixes to try and stay up like it did for us last year to go up.

we could sign 4 or 5 world class players and chase Liverpool down , other than that its a complete failure
3rd pah rubbish

Nobody in the first team leaving is the first thing. We've got the luxury when it comes to bringing players in that we aren't desperate but it also means whoever we look at needs to be pretty damn good. I don't want to see us accumulate "squad players". We ought to look forward at improving the starting eleven and that's going to be tough.

Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Manuel Neuer... No other players will make me happy.

The two young defenders would put us in a much stronger position going into the summer.

A right/central midfielder is preferable.

Another attacker will be a bonus.

We'll sign the defenders and a midfielder at least.

It will inevitably be a good window, like last season.

3 quality signings , c/back , midfielder, one to replace didzy but not 30 plus
Players that will be good enough to Go straight into the first eleven not back up squad player's
And yes we also need to look at the lad from Ipswich as development players for the future

CW will have a plan

I think we need to improve the back up players a few injuries to key players could make us struggle. Work on moving on players who will never get a game as we have outgrown them good for both club and player if they can get games else where. I think getting in players to improve the 1st team should be done in the summer when they don't cost as much, too many panic buys at this time of year, our league position means we don't need to go down this road. I can see the likes of Villa splashing out more ridiculous sums of money in the panic to avoid relegation but I'm not sure if it would be justified for us to spend daft money chasing a Europa spot. A finish in the top 10 in May would be a success for me. I'm confident CW will get in the right players at the right time for the right money, if that player is available this month go for it if not happy for us to go with what we have got now.

The big issue for me is...... we enter a JTW with ZERO pressure.
Only need 2 wins and 2 draws from our last 16 matches.....we can afford to lose most of our remaining matches....so realistically we‘re safe.

It’s always tricky to know whether we’ve had a good window or not.

Suspect Wilder will make some underwhelming signings (like a McGoldrick) but they’ll end up being top class players.
Wilder seems to know what he’s doing.....so I’m feeling relaxed.

CW signing his new contract was paramount.

Next for me is Lundstram signing a new contract.

If the rumours are true we look to be spending circa £10m (7m Cobatt / £3m Woolfenden). Both good upcoming defenders who will be coming in to push mainly JoC and Basham. We have Rodwell to thicken the squad out. Also if we go for a foreign loan in Tameze then excellent. The players we sign I trust CW. Whether the above names change it’s whatever.

I don’t want us to sign a striker in this window I want us to stick with the ones we have now. We sign another striker it pushes Robinson down the pecking order. We’ve paid £8m for him so we need to work with him. Also you dont get value for players in the Jan window. Watkins should be £30m right now at Brentford as they are selling there premiership chance. In summer be more £20m.

If in the summer we have 40m like this summer then that’s when we look to change the first team squad.

Then it’s thinning the swais. It’s about removing a few players like Heneghan / Clarke / Holmes etc as many as we can. I know the contracts are up at the end of the season anyway but be good to trim the squad.

As long as we do not lose any players thats good enough for me. Wait for the summer and pay sensible money.

I think the young lad from Ipswich and the Belgian lad look (on paper at least) to be the ideal type of signing. The position that worries me is Didzy's as we only have him that can do that specific role and has been key to a lot we have done this season. Not an easy one to fill unfortunately, no matter how much you chuck at it.

We are in the very enviable position that we are 95% sure our premier league place is secure for next season, so Tufty can really sit down and plan. I would be delighted if we signed the young lads mentioned from Ipswich and Anderlecht. We might even want to loan the Ipswich lad back to them for the rest of the season. It's also very important that we don't lose any of our established first team players. Lunny signing a new contract would be the icing on the cake.

Buying 2 or 3 players that make us better, and selling 4 or 5 players that make us worse.

I'm not a fan of signing squad players unless we're short in an area. Every signing should be better that what we have to force the current players onto the bench as squad players. I don't expect much this transfer window, but expect a lot more in the summer.

Not selling any of the main matchday squad would be a huge window for me. I'm not too fussed about people coming in except maybe a right back on loan to cover Baldock.

Mcburnie can drop off and link up, did it for swansea and you saw some of that against West Ham
