So, we have:

GK (Possibly Long)
Brayford CB CB LB
RW Whiteman Basham LW
Sharp Adams

Subs

Ramsdale
Done
Reed
McNulty (if not signing for Pompey)
Scougs (If not signing for Fleetwood)
DCL

We need to sign 10 players at least. Arguably more like 13
.
1 X GK
4 CBs
1 x LB
l x RW
1 X LW
1 X CF
1 X CM

There's no emergency loans so we need to plan for injuries.

Well that is actually quite a clear out of players and an opportunity Adkins didn't have last summer.

This is actually a great chance of getting promoted with a new group of players.

Indeed ....... although I would like to see Done & Scougal listed as well .....

Now all we need is for the "ambitious" Board to ACTUALLY give tufty the financial backing to rebuild a genuine top two challenging squad .....

"there is a specific provision regarding goalkeepers, with teams able to sign one at any time if they do not have a fit registered keeper who has made five senior appearances for any club"

Ideally I would've fucked McCuntly off as well but I'm not going to criticise that. We wanted a cull and we got one pretty much.

I hope these wankers take one last look at our big ground as they leave. This was the highlight of their careers.
Agree re mcnulty, i'd have included scougall but we cant have everything. Now the pressure is well and truly on the board to support CW in building a team. Come on Kev, we're watching.

Ramsdale is nowhere ready for the first team needs to go out on loan
Beg to disagree Pedro he will be challenging for a 1st place next season, he is good enough to play in the first division as you would expect from an international player. Most really good goalkeepers make there mark as teenagers ,I rate highly as the blades do.
I said in a previouse post:: unless we give him the opportunity ,premiership clubs will take him..play him and ime sure he will exel and be happy to stay.

Glad all the players including the transfer listed players are fucking off because they haven't been good enough for a long time. Coutts will go to burton most likely. Been crying out for a decent winger since murphy went

I doubt it, would Clough make the same mistake twice?

Looking at what's left we're in dire need of some height in our new arrivals in the summer. I am over the moon with the release list and those who've been listed.

Let's just hope Wilder is able to bring in his choice of player's because if he does, I have a feeling we might finally make it out of this stinking league.

What we are really left with is 20 players, of whom a maximum of 6 look like 1st team players
7 squad/development players of whom 5 are teenagers
7 transfer listed players, of whom we will realistically see 3 or 4 depart, meaning the others will drop into the squad

He needs to sign 6 /8 first team players.

Goal

George Long,
Aaron Ramsale

Defenders
John Brayford,
Graham Kelly
Kieron Freeman, Kieran Wallace,

Midfielders

Chris Basham, Matt Done
Louis Reed, Stefan Scougall, Ben Whiteman
Hammond, Coutts, Woolford, J Wallace

Forwards
Billy Sharp, Che Adams,
Marc McNulty, DCL
Diego

Even after the cull it's still a very poor squad.

Think if you look at it Long, Basham, Brayford, Sharp and Adams would get in any team in the division. It's a good starting point.

If I was Chris I'd start from the back. Sign his Northampton left back Dave Buchanan since he's out of contract and go from there.

Point is five don't make much of a squad.

The opportunity this gives us is massive the board must support the culling by Tufty. We only have an handfull of 1st teamers amongst what's left ( the rest are development players).Mr Wilder must be confident
he can bring i n the necessary players to give us a shot at it this coming season

I agree with everything CW has done. However, if the transfer-listed players do not move on, we are still left with a squad of over 20 players. I can't see many new players coming in. I'm expecting next season to be one of consolidation with promotion 2 years away. If we really had "game changing investment" available, now is the time for the Prince to pay off the unwanted and get in 6/7 players for a serious push for promotion this coming season.

Good post blade 67, he must be confident of doing the business otherwise he wouldn't have culled. so many ( support from the owners).
Going to be a busy and interesting
summer as it always is following the blades.

Absolutely agree and he's also given himself a get out of jail free card if he's not backed and we don't go up by putting the spotlight completely on the board. It's certainly taken me by surprise and could well be a masterstroke on his part but the cynic in me can't help but feel that they are somehow covering their own backs because they must have ratified the list.

As an aside, where's the nickname Tufty come from 'cos I've missed that.

Comes from his playing days. And yes it does put pressure on the board. They have to back him surely
otherwise we're going no where

I would have got rid Basham personally.
He was inconsistent, especially in midfield, but more for his comments before the final games about the team being unlucky and the players deserving another chance.
Anyone who thinks anything about last season's mediocrity was even close to being acceptable and any of the players released should have been kept should find themselves another team immediately.
It's that attitude that caused a lot of last season's issues in my opinion and we need rid of it for me before next season. I have faith in Wilder to do this.

I'm glad that we kept Stefan Scougall Marc McNulty & Matt Done. because all 3 I think have been hard done by last season

Scougall - was the l only player of the last 2 yrs who willing to make forward runs beyond the midfield or in behind the defence. Everyone else is too content to play it front

Mcnulty - is a great Finisher & you dont lose it. He is 1 of the reasons I was glad to see back of Clough as good as he was because he ruined Mcnulty confidence. As the midfield would create nothing he'd be feeding on scraps get a half chance per game & Clough would calling him crap saying he shouldve a couple

Done - its a standing joke that we buy a 20 goal a season striker & but him on the wing. But it was even more ridiculous to but him at left back & because Done is such a team player he agreed Almost as ridiculous as putting louis van gaal putting Wayne Rooney in net

But looking forward to the 1st preseason line up
--------------Long
Brayford ---- Basham------- Kelly
-----Reed Scougall Whiteman
Adams ----------------------Done
--------Sharp ------ Mcnulty

I agree but at the same time I worry that he's one of the least intelligent players I've seen. His work rate is great, but it's often mindless running. His interplay is also really poor.

I don't know what role there is for him here as he's shown no sign of forming a partnership up front. And he won't displace Billy.

Ive only seen him a couple of times as reagrds an international player think youre bigging him up there
Hes good dont get me wrong but not ready for the first team yet its a steep learning curve from playing with teenagers to playing with men

Basham his not the greatest but if the rest had shown the attitude he did we would at least be in the play offs.Hes only a player so what he says doasnt count in the management stakes, but he will have
Mates amongst the players and he was showing camaraderie ( team spirit ) which is no bad thing.
He will be an Important player for us next season
