What the hell is up with people!?

It looked to me like the boys gave it their all and couldn't quite do enough against a side that can score at any time
I'm not sure who you are all angry at ?
That side is over achieving not underachieving if we finish top 6 it will be an incredible achievement but yet you're all crying because we don't win every week

Luck just wasn't on our side tonight but plenty of positives no doubt.

Yes, it's what proper fans feel, frustration and even anger at the continued stupidity of our players, It's just as well an earlier chance didn't go in because we'd have probably lost 2-1 if we had 60 or 70 minutes to defend

Some are so busy clapping, everything is so fine because we are near the top
And in a few weeks everything will be so fine because we're still in the play offs
And then later in the season everything will be fine because we're mid table
I just remembered why I once believed you to be an undercover Owl. Please don't lecture us on what 'proper fan's are feeling. Speak for yourself buddy.

I'm happy enough with our performances up to scoring
But I don't know where this "Get in front and drop back" bolox has come from. We are the most effective team in the League when going forward, but we are without doubt the worst team in the League when it comes to defending.
Rotherham got a draw at Middlesboro, that's probably what they went for. BUT THERE'S NO WAY IN HELL THAT WE'D HAVE GOT A DRAW IF WE WENT THERE LOOKING FOR IT.
It's so noticeable as well, it's not the opposition doing anything different, it's us. There is a noticeable difference in our performance from the second we score a goal.

Masterclass? I must have been watching a different game. Some good chances before we scored but as usual our play deteriorated alarmingly once we'd gone in front. That panicked boot out of defence that had Wilder going loopy was sadly indicative of our play after going in front.

All three midfielders were well below par tonight - I thought Fleck especially was poor. Joe Allan was the best player on the park tonight, did some great work defensively and everything going forward went through him.

We'll finish much close in the league to Stoke than we currently are now, that's for sure.

If we go a goal down, you me and every other Blade expect us to step it up and put in a bit more effort to get back in the game. If we don't look like we are trying harder you'd be very concerned. Same with other teams, some manage to step it up, some don't. It's just the nature of the game. We've managed to hold on to more leads than anyone else so far though.

I'm happy enough with our position in the league compared to Sheffield Wednesday

Absolutely, but dropping stupid points won't do us any favours just like it didn't last season
Losing confidence usually starts by not winning games that you dominate, like last season

Masterclass is a bit far. They really aren’t that good.

They’re not in the top 5 I’ve seen against us this season. Huge missed opportunity.

They have the best players in the league and were pre seasons favourites to end up champions.
Many of the independent experts still half expect them to have a run towards the playoffs.

Wednesday fans say the best 3 teams they’ve played this season were Brentford, Stoke and Leeds.
Stoke could have been 3 or 4 nil up at half time at Hillsboro earlier this season.

Need to punish the opposition more when we’re on top and be a little more switched on at important times. We’re playing very well but have thrown points away in the last two games from being too slack.

Those two performances should have resulted in 4 points minimum. Dropping points to teams that we’re much better than. Very frustrating.
All true, but let’s remember what a fantastic achievement it is to have turned into a much better team than these rich clubs, in such a short space of time.

To do it in the style we do, with such little resource, is remarkable, even though we are still slightly short in areas.

It's frustrating because a blind man could see we are bloody brilliant but so prone to chucking away results.

Absolutely love the way we play and I have complete faith in Wilder and our players, who I think are more than good enough.

What's the solution? I don't know. Clearly not comfortable sitting back and seeing out games, but what's a sensible alternative? I'm sure Chris will sort it soon.

I’ve told you. It’s the signing of flair players with a bit of individuality. Someone who will go try something different. As opposed to being a team clone.

And Boro dropped stupid points at home to Rotherham tonight. It's always disappointing when it happens. We are far from the finished article but we are improved on last season, have (a bit) more strength in depth and as a club we just have more soul than the pigs.

This.
I also thought all 3 midfielders were below par tonight. Also there were times after we scored when we just lumped the ball out. Not always, but there was a change in the team’s mentality, and we lose confidence to go forward with intent when in possession.
The foul (dive) shouldn’t have happened (but these things do), but then to dismantle the wall so that Jack could cover the lanky Crouch was just a shambles.

Edit: we did play some great football though. A joy to watch, if frustrating that we didn’t convert more chances.

Anyone who's not happy with the season so far needs to have a sit down and a think.

At the same time it seems as though we should win 80% of our games without any undue luck, yet we've let a third of those winnable games slip away. The very fact that this is the case is close to a miracle with the funds we've used but at the end of the season you don't get gold stars for looking as though you're going to win. You're just one of the 18 teams that start again in this division on 0 points next season.

We all know we are punching above our weight but the frustration for many is how close we are. There is no easy answer to how we can improve that extra 5 or 10 percent that will see us put games like this and Derby to bed before half time. Even money is no guarantee as Stoke showed tonight.

It's superb going to the Lane these days as you know that most times the team are going to put in a performance. The only debate is how we can take it to the next level and make sure games like Bristol, Derby and Stoke don't end up with us bemoaning missed chances and dropped points.

Boro drew at home to to Brum. There's no gimmes in this division
Fucking moaning when we are 2nd can only ever happen on S24SU

I’m happy with out League position delighted even.

But people need to realise the consequences of what happens next summer if we don’t go up.

The boardroom fuckwittery is the huge cloud over the future. We need that promotion and the money that goes with it or we lose Fleck, JOC and possibly the management team.

So ... no pressure.

One crouch dive, one soft shot, one Deano mistake away from it being a near masterclass.
I thought to a man we were fantastic tonight. We arent going to roll teams over that cost around 50 million quid. We should have taken our chances early, we should have held on, but we are being spoilt if we think we should moan at a performance like that.

Tbf I think most people aren't moaning about the performance, more that we should have won based off of that performance (which we should). But I can live with a few games where we play well but don't quite get what we deserve as long as we also get more than we deserve in other games, all should (hopefully) balance out over the season. As others have said tho, wait until tomorrow when everyone has got over the initial disappointment and I'm sure there will be much more positive comments.

Last time we dominated a team at home and let in a last minute equaliser we lost to Barnsley in our next game .

Come at me

Outside of that stupid goal we conceded, and the one at FLDC, we're outplaying these "worth millions" teams weekly and have been for a while, at what point do we become a worth millions team?

I know we've not paid much but people on the Antiques Roadshow dig old shite out of skips and get 6 figure insurance quotes.

I think we're worth plenty and we shouldn't be using that as an excuse when we fuck it up. This season and last, on pure quality and style, we're up there with maybe 3-5 others, and on position in the league we're not bad either.

Would never want to get like them lot and start getting entitled, but it's ok to ask that our team of very good Championship footballers learn to see games out.

Unbelievably proud of who we are and where we are. Just a bit frustrated.

Roll on Saturday.

Someone guaranteed Wed better Stoke 3 1 after the capitulation at Derby. I said no way. I say no way we will beat Wigan.
I will be very happy to revisit this thread and put my hands up if we do.
