Personally i would give him until the end of the season and if we haven't gone up, then tell me we need to be challenging next season for the top 2, or his time is up.

I think we might get the play offs, and he is finally a manager we have who looks like he would be able to get us up through the play offs.

All this is with the best support in the division the largest budget and the largest squad
Nigel was heaven sent for McCabe as a guy to steady the ship while still cutting costs

You seem to contradict yourself there
We have the largest budget and McCabe is is getting Nigel cutting costs dont quite get it

Its a 3 from me we cannot keep changing managers and if we did decide to make a change what quality candidates are there for a replacement. Dont get me wrong Im not happy at present as we should be taking the game to sides like the Gills who are in the lower reaches of this division. Clough has made a few mistakes with the squad this season and this hasnt helped and he still doesnt know his best XI

Do let me know which big budget signing is meant to be scoring the goals for the club, will you?

pommpey

And what big budget signings are the other league one clubs making? Chesterfield sold their top scorer and Rochdale sold their second highest scorer in January.

A 3 from me, although quite when he'll realise he needs more than a powderpuff brigade up front I don't know. Maybe this chap from Rochdale will be the catalyst.

There's doubtless lots of issues we can dissect with the current team, and I look forward to continuing and contributing on this forum about them... But I believe that we need to give NC more time, I look around at other under performing big teams and how they chop and change managers with no particular success and often to the detriment. A bit more patience, let's see how the team settles...

Why look elsewhere to see how chopping and changing managers brings sucess.

The answer my friend is blowing in your face.

If we don't get promoted this season it will be absolutely tragic no one can say otherwise. It will be the LONGEST we have ever stayed outside of the top 2 divisions in our 125 year history. How this can be anything other than tragic I have no idea.

That said, we will probably remember this seasons cup run and last seasons for years to come.

Absolutely. Can dissect the impact of changing managers every time the panic sinks in, but although we can find 100 reasons to justify it, surely there must be stability in the long run? (whilst maintaining the ejector button if it goes belly up, which it hasn't yet)

He has to be given another season because of the amount if players he's brought in. I reckon he'll find the right combination at some point and we'll kick on from there. Problem is of his own making though really, a mass of mediocre players.
