What Sammon Brings

£10k + per week for what is now our 4th or 5th choice striker, who may even find his place on the bench under threat when Sharp returns to the squad.

Horrendous decision.

Someone at the club wants shooting.

I'd love to know just who sanctioned this deal. Absolute madness.

If he's on that kind of money I want to shoot myself.

There's literally hundreds of strikers we could have brought in who would offer more than Connor Sammon.

It's the fans fault for getting on his back though!

Alternatively he could recover his early season form, or contribute numerous times as he did against Blackpool.

It looks like this won't happen with constant sniping, baiting and negativity as it seems to be affecting his form.

I hope he recovers it.

Must have taken some finding to resurrect this thread just find someone to have a go at.

You know a striker is bad when you have to bring up a 0-0 draw as proof of how good he is.

Not a fan ,but how many others went to Peterboro away and sang feed the fish ? I know I did.

Yep I'll include myself in that. I thought he and Sharp were going to form a decent partnership. Sadly that was his best, possibly only good game he has had for us. A very poor return for the decent money we must be paying him. When he does get near the team like last week he's hauled off at half time to save further embarrassment. Tells you all you need to know

He's Scapegoat of the Month now most people have moved on from McEveley.

Look for the tiniest thing he might have done wrong and then hammer him for it while ignoring any positive contributions. Like when McEveley was fouled for Bury's first goal and the nonsense that it was therefore his fault.
everyone has moved on from mceveley because he has stopped being crap and costing us games with his embarrassing mistakes.. he doesn't do anything wrong.. he doesn't do anything

Well it depends how long before the start but yes, I remember now he didn't play the first few games.

From memory, missed the first nine games through injury, and missed the last few through prison. If he had played a full season he would have scored 40+ goals and put Jordan Rhodes in his place.

I have a few Derby mates who were split 70/30 over Sammon, 70 saying absolutely useless, 30 saying he's 'OK', should do well in L1 but just doesn't score much...

Part of the problem I see with players like Sammon is that when he's bad, he's very, very bad ( there was a diving 'header' earlier in the season that sticks in the mind, Sunday league stuff) and when he's 'good' he's just ok...

I think that Peterborough game is going to go down in Blades history as his high point by a country mile!

I know someone that has bought the feature length dvd of the 0-0 massacre of Blackpool.

McCevely has been really solid for most of this season. He's almost the least of our problems.

If we'd had more than 3 defenders in our 45 man squad last season, he'd have been given a rest when he lost his form. As it is, we didn't have that option and it nearly ruined a decent (third division) player.

I think only some have moved on from McEveley, he still gets plenty of abuse on a weekly basis, usually whilst he's busy not putting a foot wrong.

Salmon is dreadful in many ways, but surely his greatest skill deficit is aerial challenges.

He never gets close to winning headers even when he towers over his opponent. I'm not sure I have ever seen a player of his size, so poor in the air.

I honestly think he's scared of heading balls falling from a great height. There's been a few occasions I think he actually moved out of the way.

Exactly, mate!

McEveley was getting pelters for having some nightmare games, he's been doing a decent job for quite a while now hence him not getting much stick, if any at all in recent months. A huge amount of respect must go out to him because he's turned it around himself.

Sammon has been dogshite for quite a while now hence him getting the pelters, it really isn't rocket Science to realise that when you're playing shit you have a chance of getting some stick from some fans, it's nothing at all to do with scapegoating.

We need to stop what Sammon brings.

Can someone hide his boots in future so he can't play.

One of many nonentities surplus to requirements. What a waste of a loan. I'd have preferred keeping Porter. Why can't we get this sort of signing right ?

Should've known how utterly gash Sammon would be even after that bizarrely good performance at Peterborough.

When our fans were chanting 'feed the fish and he will score' at the end of that game the look on his face seemed to say 'they really have no idea do they...'
