Half Citys fan base wanted McAtee to have a bash in first team this season! Would not have got on that well. We've turned him in to a much stronger player. Point is they will never ever sell him. He's their wonder kid. If we go up one more season with us a division higher and he's ready to go. If we some how fuck it up I don't even think they will bother loaning him back out.

Doyle is no more than a 5/8 m player macatee about the same

Just a few transfer fees paid by PL clubs this season...

Tavernier Boro to Bournemouth - £10m
Semenyo - Bristol City to Bournemouth - £10m
Lewis-Potter - Hull to Brentford - £19m
McNeil - Burnley to Everton - £17m
Garner - Man Utd to Everton - £10m
Souttar - Stoke to Leicester - £17m
Targett - Villa to Newcastle - £17m
MGW - Wolves to Forest - £40m
Williams - Liverpool to Forest - £20m
O'Brien - Hudds to Forest - £9m
Bazunu - Man City to Southampton - £14m - 20yo GK
Cornet - Burnley to West Ham - £20m
Collins - Burnely to Wolves - £24m 🤣

If you think Man City let him go for under £10m, you're not being realistic. I think it's £15m minimum for Doyle and £20-25m for McAtee

Two incredibly talented (and grounded) young, PL ready, future international midfielders to replace Norwood and Fleck for £40M.

Sounds like a bargain to me.

Will City sell?

Doubtful

Will have to settle for KDB instead :(
Where the fuck are these funds coming from and I don't just mean the transfer fee. The wages these two would command would cripple the club and leave no room for strengthening anywhere else. We can't go all season with Wobbly Wes beteeen the sticks forra start and a new LB of some quality is also required.

It's my wish list. I have no influence or knowledge on transfer budgets believe it or not.

Chill yer beans.

Depends who's buying

I think we could get them both back on loan for a good deal since they will be getting premier league experience.

If we do get them both on loan next season they won't be getting Premier League experience

A midfield of Doyle and that dude from Leicester, currently at Watford (can't remember his name, Hamsta Chowdry?, would be pretty solid. Maybe the left back from Brizzle City too. Thought he looked really good defensively last night.

I reckon we're much more likely to go for Wallace and Swift at WBA, both players on our radar long-term, both had a relatively disappointing season and therefore available on the (relatively) cheap, could £15m get both?

If we’ve got a chance on McAtee then so do teams like Leeds, Brentford and Forest (if theyre there)

Hate to say it but I don’t think we have a chance on either as other teams will gazump us

He had the pick of about 20 clubs and he chose us. Why wouldn‘t he make the same choice again?

The Daily Star says Man City aren't letting Macca back out on loan.
I'd much prefer Palmer in the Prem now to be honest, he's slightly older but a lot bigger and stronger, and his potential speaks for itself.

Daily Mail sorry

Needs another loan. Don’t think he’d get in Brighton’s team let alone cities this season. Needs that year in the top flight to demonstrate he’s capabable

Better let Pep know sure he will appreciate your advice

He is right though isn’t he? If he starts the PL campaign for city like he did the Championship for us he wouldn’t play another minute all season. McAtee is an incredible talent but needs a little time to adjust and not much time at that, it’s just at City you don’t get time to adjust you just get hooked. It’s a no brainier for City to loan him out to a PL club is it not?

They didn't take that approach with Foden, did they? Pep may well think that McAtee at this stage will develop more by remaining within the club, which is entirely reasonable given the setup they have. There's plenty of managers these days that don't cling on to the archaic thought that someone must be loaned out to at least three different clubs before they can possibly be "ready"

Absolutely true
McAtee would be able to slowly make an impact at City with the best players carrying him when they had to and then him producing odd bits of magic here and there, plus they'd win most games if they started with 10 men anyway.

With us he wouldn't get a sniff of being a good player because we'll not be in the opponents half, he'd be used trying to cover the full backs and playing one yard in front of the centre halves

I really pity you .why don't you try a more mentally healthy hobby like sheep herding or kestrel flying ?

I suspect Pep will use McAtee here and there in the cups and Europe off the bench. He fits into how they play and given how good their players are, I suspect he'd look pretty good.

agree mcatee wont be going anywhere palmers a winger and we dont do em so doyle back on loan with a view to buy seems the most likely outcome to me

It's the truth isn't it ?
How is he going to be able to play his normal game, attacking in the opponents half when we'll be lucky to spend 7 seconds each game out of our own half,
