Man City will ask £30M for Doyle.
We might be able to negotiate £25M with a sell on clause. I would buy at that if we go up.
They'll want to loan McAtee to a premier league team to continue his development. If we sign Doyle there would be no better place for him to come. This alone means we should be happy to pay the £25M for Doyle.

Whatever you think Ndiaye is worth, add 5 to 10 million for mcateee. Doyle? Is he more influential than Berge.? If so, start at £25-30 mil.

If we’ve got a chance on McAtee then so do teams like Leeds, Brentford and Forest (if theyre there)

Hate to say it but I don’t think we have a chance on either as other teams will gazump us

If/ when we go up should we try to purchase these 2?? If so how much

I'm going

Mcatee £20-25m

Doyle £15_20m

I am sure I either read or dreamt that the ideal plan is to buy Doyle and loan McAtee in for another season.

Some right fucking delusion on here!

Only way you see these two again in a blades shirt after this season is if they come back in loan again next season.

Doyle yes we must
Macatee no chance loan at best
Interesting to know what they earn pw, what we pay Citeh now and what they would want via agents. We will never know current situation but if we reach the promised land then....

Not what wilder was when we paid 22m for Brewster and about 18m for mcburnie

When you are in the PL you pay an extra probably 5 million more for players because the teams and agents know you have the moooonnnnneyyyy.

No, I had the same dream so you are correct.

I can see Man U letting us loan McAtee for another season. Unless we beat them next Sunday.
Doyle hoping to buy.

No way...Doyle is currently no where near PL standard.
It's only in recent weeks he's actually become a regular at Championship level and started to show glimpses of PL quality.
He's currently worth about 10 to 15 million tops.....but is still young and has the potential to become an average/ decent standard PL player.

We thought exactly the same with Mcburnie, Brewster and Berge. It's always a risk buying "potential" and having never played in the PL,
that's all that Doyle is....."potential", so paying anything close to 20 million would be a big gamble, like Brewster, McBurnie and Berge were also big gambles.

If Kompany stays at Burnley and he shows interest in McAtee...it wouldn't surprise me....due to Kompany's influence at Man City....that McAtee goes to Burnley next season....it all depends on whether Kompany has plans for him at Burnley. If Burnley don't want him....then think he'll return to us on loan.

If McBurnie, Brewster and Berge were proven premier league quality, they would’ve been double what we paid for them.

Same with Doyle, any young player that shows they are a top championship player, with a lengthy contract is going to cost a decent fee. There is absolutely no way Man City would accept less than £20m.

Neither will get anywhere close to Man City squad ever! (E.g Foden is a year older than Mcatee and can’t even get a start!)

But as they’re from big clubs you’re right it’ll be inflated at around 15-20 for each probably. Reasonable investments and a fee around that would see everyone be happy.

I see no reason for man city keeping them around, likewise they are financially strong enough that they don’t need to sell! So who knows…
I think Foden is actually recovering from an appendicitis.

Doyle for 10 would be very good business. Cannot see City wanting to release McAtee but they could be open to extending a loan for another season
If we sign Doyle, can we train him to take corners as well as Norwood does ? All his today were dreadful

Doyle is the complete midfielder, every team needs a Doyle. But McAtee is the icing on the cake…Break the bank for Doyle££££

I'm in agreement. At his current standard he's worth 10 to 15 million but could easily be worth 40 million in 2 or 3 years.
Wouldn't surprise me if he does fit in well in the PL and becomes an average to decent PL player.

Due to his potential (like with Brewster, McBurnie and Berge) it correctly pushes up the price. Think we'd need to pay at least 15 to 20 million, maybe even a bigger package up to 25 to 30 million with staying up clauses/ reaching Europe/ playing for England clauses thrown in. Think we might be able to just about afford him.

Which is pretty much what I said in the first place.
As part of the negotiation, if we can get McAtee as a loan for another season (can't have 2 loans from same club in Premier League?) then a £25M fee would be a good deal all round.
Doyle's progression over the last 2 seasons has been consistent and there is no reason to think that will not continue if he gets the game time. I agree he could also prive to be a decent investment at £25M too.
The other factor is that, if we go up, we'll need to sign a player similar to Doyle anyway. Who else could that be and what would be the fee? Doyle knows us, the way we play and seems to completely understand the club.

The elephant in the room here is no one knows how much money we’ll actually have available to spend on new players if we do go up. I’ve got no clue.
Totally agree.
These are just 'wishes' really and I think unlikely. Even if we were to consider paying the fee Man City might want for Doyle then will match the salaries other clubs would offer? Doubtful unless there is good investment (which isn't looking likely at the moment).
I think there would be a number of clubs interested in both Doyle and McAtee.
I also agree with a point Sheffsteel made about Burnley potentially being an option for McAtee. Burnely could be one of several interested clubs.
Man City do seem to be looking at him as a medium to long term option for their first team, he is 1-2 seasons away from that imo. Hopefully we can get him for another season - I am not convinced we can though.
