What does the team look like first game next season??

Done nothing to justify signing him, looks a shadow of the player that was on loan last time.
In fairness he arrived underused and unfit and then got deployed in what was far from the position he actually excelled in.

I’d take him as a centre forward option. I can see him doing well with Campbell, Cannon or Moore.

I just don’t find him a winger.

Think there will be a fair few changes. I'm hoping Wilder doesn't persist with his inverted defensive wingers.

I wonder if O’Hare convinces Hamer to stay? They’re best mates. I know it’s a career. But they came so close this time around. Maybe they’ll decide to give it a go again as teammates?

Wishful thinking but you never know.

Not convinced Hamer leaves like a lot seem to be. Think Anel will go and I don't see Souza doing another year in the Champ. Imagine Cooper will have suitors but only going to leave if he is first choice, rules out the majority other than Leeds, who seem to be looking elsewhere and Burnley if Trafford goes Newcastle. Brewster I think goes (would for me) and RND. Choudray signs and takes Souza's place, I think Holding will come back and I wouldn't be against BBD back as well ( in a minority with that I know, but he is proven quality in this league) . Jimmy Dunne to start at right back, another centre half to start with Holding, and a right winger. Mentality of the players needs to be better and as a squad I would like to see more pace, especially coming off the bench.
I think Everton could come in for Hamer, maybe Leeds??
There's rumours were after Kwame Poku, young winger, only 23.
Wouldn't be suprised to see Anel/Souza getting interested, and possibly Cooper, if Burnley lose Trafford, Leeds finally realise Meslier is shit.
How long did we give Campbell a contract for??

D

Dream land stuff there mate. No way we'll get Sainz or Fellows who will be looking for moves to top flight clubs. Poku is more realistic though.
Would be a dream window, but if we generate £50m in sales then it starts to look a bit more realistic.

Sainz will enter his last year of contract so wouldn't be demanding a ridiculous fee.

Fellows I thought I saw somewhere was coming to end of his contract, but Ives just had a look and he has 2 years left, still worth a cheeky bid with what money we have left over.

Think Anel and Vini will go abroad. Not sure about Gus. Apart from Leeds I don't think anyone else in Prem will come in for him. Added to that I don't think he'd leave to go to another Championship club.

Unless silly money is offered I don't think Sydie will leave yet.

Out of loanees I'd try to sign Hamza and Holding. I would have had Souttar if he was ready for August.

I wouldn't offer Brewster and Robbo new deals.
Trouble is with jlt I'm sure because of wilders stubbornness he's completed 25 games this season which activates a years extension

Holding I think will only sign if he's been impressed enough with CW and the club as a whole (it's not impossible) and chooses to come back for that reason.
If I'm Holding, and if the club are trying to persuade me to sign, I'm asking some very pointed questions about my lack of game time in the run in when our LCB was dropping an error every now and then.

Spot on …. he’ll want some guarantee of game time. Honestly after the way we’ve treated him I doubt he’d want come back here.

If we were to get rid of no one other than Brewster and play this side, barring injuries I wonder where it would be in the league.

Cooper
Seriki Anel Robbo Burrows
Arblaster Souza Peck
O'Hare Hamer
Campbell

If we manage to keep everyone

Keepers , cooper, faxon
New keeper needed as back up Davis gives me no confidence
Right back. seriki, Choudry ( hopefully who fills cdm as well)
Centre half anel , plus 2 more
Left back burrows, mccallam
Centre midfield. vini,arblaster,peck ,tom davis
Winger/ atm. gus,Ohare, brooks plus 2 new
Forwards. Campbell, Cannon, one new one needed
We're short desperately of centre halves and tricky attacking players

6 signings only but quality not old last payday or loans helping premier clubs with ffp
Moore, jlt,Davies, brewster all need releasing or loaning out
The thing is we've got a strong squad to have another go at top 2 next season
For me wilder is not the guy to take these guys forward I think a new coach in place quickly would probably convince vini, gus etc to give it another try

Do you not think someone will come in for cooper? I think a big value move is incoming from our mates in West Yorkshire!!

As I've said countless times, Cooper is good but his footwork and distribution are average at best. Due to how keepers in the PL need to be as good with their feet as they are with their hands I am confident Cooper will still be with us next season, he can't kick a ball straight.

As for others, I can see Hamer, Souza, Anel and Peck definitely going, (for good money though). I think we will hold onto Burrows, O'Hare and as I have already said, Cooper. I hope we let Brewster go as well as Moore and we take a hit on the hapless Cannon, but that depends if CWAK is still in charge. Sadly it looks as if Robinson will still be with us having activated a 1 year extension by all accounts. Not bothered about BBD so I hope his loan deal didn't include an obligation to buy whichever league we were in..!

Then there's the dead-wood like Shakleton and RND plus the loans, (Clarke, Gilchrist, Rak-Sakyi, Choudhury and Holding) all going back and you can see what sort of a rebuild we have on our hands, which means it is essential we have the right people in place to do the job, be it a re-focused Wilder or, (preferably) someone new.

Squad could look very thin again in a few weeks time!

Can't see Holding sticking around to keep the bench warm. He's clearly made an impression on the "boss".

Cooper - I think he needs another season with us.

Burrows - 50/50 of all the new signings he’s the one someone could gamble on.

CB x 1 - Robinson not good enough

CB x 2 - Anel will be off £15 mil should do it.

RB - Sereiki + 1 more wouldn’t mind Hamzah.

LM - X 1 - Hamer will go £25 mil should do it for the champs player of the year.

CM - Peck

CM - Arblaster

CM x 1 - Souza will go £20 mil should do it.

RM x 1 - JRS off back don’t renew.

CAM - O’Hare

ST - Moore

ST - Campbell

ST - One

ST - Cannon

If we can bring in £60 mil in sales and reinvest £30 then with what’s left and good signings we should be set to go again and dare I say it… even stronger
I certainly don't think there's reason for the doom and gloom a few are suggesting.

30 odd mill parachute payments, players only leaving for good fees we can demand, and owners seemingly ambitious.

With the right recruitment and dare I say better fitness, I think it's very possible we could be better next season.

Anyone who wants to see Robbo in the first team next season needs to call the fire brigade because there’s an electrical fire in their head.

Don’t think Anel leaves tbh, he’s not that great either way.

Cooper
Dunne Worrall. Anel Burrows
Doyle. Peck
Brooks. O’Hare. Hamer
Campbell

Subs: Davies, Seriki, Robinson 🤢, McCallum, Choudhury, Arblaster, Moore, Cannon, Oné

Expect Vini to be gone in the summer and wouldn’t be surprised if Gus leaves by the end of the transfer window but I’d expect to start the season with something like this

6 signings only but quality not old last payday or loans helping premier clubs with ffp
Disagree on the loans point. Good use of the loan system has help is go up the last two occasions (Hendo, Dowell, McAtee, Doyle) - it's one of our bigger failures this year - only Souttar can you suggest has been top class this season (and we only had him for half the season)

If I'm Holding, and if the club are trying to persuade me to sign, I'm asking some very pointed questions about my lack of game time in the run in when our LCB was dropping an error every now and then.
Fair enough, it is a long shot (and personally I don't think he will sign), it's just a bit of hope that he was impressed enough with United and sees his future here, even if it's just short term.

Holding I think will only sign if he's been impressed enough with CW and the club as a whole (it's not impossible) and chooses to come back for that reason.
The point has been made above but needs reiterating: Holding played at a level well in excess of Robinson on the two occasions he was permitted to start in place of the Skipper (TM). If I was him I'd be extremely wary about signing permanently for a team run, on the face of it, like a pub XI where the gaffer picks his mates first.

Wishful thinking but you never know.
Hope you are right, we really could do with keeping hamer he really is a match winner. But if he does go its so important to replace him and the effectiveness he has.

We must learn from our mistakes from the past not replacing players - Joc, berge, Ndiaye, Henderson etc (cba doing the full list).

There are so many factors to consider. We don't really know how our new owners operate, however, so far it's been positive in that they authorised the spending in January and it's not their fault that £10m pound Cannon appears to be a dud (hoping to be proved very wrong there too).

In the past, our players have not been offered new contracts which has led to them leaving for relatively small fees or even nothing. It will be interesting to see if Anel is offered and signs a new contract in the summer. I don't feel he'll definitely want to go and I hope the way the club and the fans backed him earlier in the season may have some bearing. I know you shouldn't expect any loyalty these days but he's raising a young family here too, so things like that can be a factor for some players.

With Hamer, I think if someone comes in with £30m+ then the club will accept and I wouldn't blame them. There is also the issue of how we're going to play. Wilder was adamant we we're going to play his new 4-2-3-1 but we ended the season playing 4-4-2 and looked better for it. Obviously Hamer can play as a wide player and I don't think he has the attributes to play in the middle of a 4 man midfield and we already have better options there, so if Wilder now goes 4-4-2 then you could see the rationale of letting Hamer go and buying a couple of wingers, which we are not overly blessed with.

Having better options in a 4 man midfield depends on Vini staying, although I'd love to see a midfield two of Arblaster and Peck and we also have Tom Davies. If Vini went, I think we'd need to sign a replacement but because of the other 3, I don't see it as a disaster. Obviously that would depend on those other 3 staying but I can't imagine the club would sell 2 or 3 of them. However I could live with one of them going IF we sign a suitable replacement and they can't all play anyway.

The situation with Brewster is an intriguing one. I wouldn't be surprised if he's offered a contract. I don't know what he's on now but I understand he's still one of our highest earners, so if he was offered terms that were in parity with other regular first teamers but not loads more, I could understand the logic as if he goes, we'd only have to sign another player, which whatever you think of him, you're looking north of £10m, so to me it's a bit like a free signing. He may not be everyone's cup of tea but he's versatile and at least this season has been injury free.

It probably wouldn't happen but I just hope we keep Campbell. If we can get him fully fit, he could score 20-25 goals which is priceless in any league and it would cost a fortune to replace a player with his ability to score goals and there are not many around in our price range.

I hope we can sign Choudhury but think wages will be an obstacle. If not then we definitely need at least one RB and another who can play there as Seriki's injury record is not great. We need probably two CB's and I wish he'd move on from Robbo who I think has had his time. If we play as a 4-4-2 we'll need at least two wingers/wide midfielders assuming Hamer goes and depending on whether Brewster stays or not.

I'd love us to start next season with Arblaster, Peck, Seriki and Brooks all playing. Maybe one or two of the others will develop too such as Blacker and Marsh and be around the first team.

Thankfully I think the days are gone when we sold our best youngsters for a pittance and we got good money for Osula last summer.

I don't think all of our "prized assets" will depart this summer.

Unless Anel agrees a new deal, then I'd expect him to be moved on with him entering his final year.

Hamer will and sadly probably should look at moving to a top flight club given his age. There's a chance he's happy here for another season though. In any instance the fee should be decent given he's got 2 years left still. £25m+ seems about right.

Souza again will have 2 more years left and will anyone meet our valuation? Of which I'm not sure what it would be.

I reckon there will be interest in Cooper but again any departure here will be if someone meets our valuation.

Aside from Anel we are in a better situation than we have been last few seasons whereby players are entering their final year and we are looking to cash in if they don't wish to stay.

Completely agree 👍 good to go again

Yeah seen the Everton Hamer stuff since I posted this. Don't want to see him leave but that's a tremendous move for him if it happens.

Can we have Dom back in part-ex!!?

Dunne will probably come in which is a great start, O'Hare will stay and he's a good player to have, as will Campbell, Cannon, T Davies, Arblaster, maybe Peck but even if Peck goes you've got Arblaster anyway, Burrows probably, Seriki, Brooks. Add in a few decent new signings to potentially replace the likes of Hamer and Souza and I think we'll be really strong still next season. I'm not definite that Hamer will go. Souza probably the most likely departure. Who knows on Robbo.
If Peck goes its only to sit on some prem teams bench.
