Is the respect we're starting to earn.

Teams will do a Norwich, a Wolves first half.

I thought we'd struggle to break wolves down, they looked to have a solid shape defending with 10 and like Norwich, we didn't get too many sniffs at goal. The goal coming of course meant they had to come out.

I can see most home games being like last season...albeit we will be up against a wall of championship players rather than league 1 players. We have to be patient and more importantly, have MOVEMENT.

Can't believe what's happening now....

Dare to dream?!

Price of success mate.

I think that although Wilder and co will do their homework on the opposition, the single most important factor is for the Blades to focus on what they're good at. Let the buggers worry about us, and at some point (some) teams will enter the pitch already knowing they're unlikely to beat us. Good times, good times, it's happening now, not at some point in the future, enjoy and watch our beloved Blades turn pig logic on it's head. UTB

Funnily enough, I would imagine Wilder and Knills job is a lttle easier at the moment

He is not having to choose the whole Team, and choose between players

Injuries are forcing his hand, and whoever comes in is stepping up to the mark

And whatever they are doing to manage the issues regarding injuries, and suspensions that are gonna be comming up ...... it is working

We go back to where we were last season, teams now setting up to counter us. But we're a very dynamic side, individual changes make small but significant differences

People now fearing Brooks-Clarke, but what about the differences that Ched, Billy, Clayton all bring.

As you hinted at in your OP, we've just had a full season of practice against sides that do that and ended up with 100 points so we are well versed in the tactic and how to counter it. The quality is undoubtedly higher but we just seem to keep evolving and comfortably keeping pace with any changes that come our way.
The wonderful thing now is the number of options to shake maters up.

Defensive midfield set up not working? Off comes Wright for Duffy and Bash back to CH.
Clarke/Brookes not firing? On come Billy and The Don.
Overrun at RB? Lafferty for Stevens.
0-1 down with 5 mins to go? Freeman and Hanson for some last gasp Bassettball.

It's hard for any side to set up against every eventuality, and we just have so many good options now.

A secondary question is - what will the crowd response be if we don't manage to break down a stubborn defence?
Still support us even if the team is frustrated on the pitch (even appreciate the difficulty they're facing?)
OR, moan like billy-o about useless strikers?

Hopefully after the enjoyment and excitement we've had with CW - appreciation!

pessimism is the only thing that can undo us.. glad CW is on top of it

I think we got the answer vs Norwich.

The crowd appreciated the efforts and rightly applauded the team off.

i was only saying back in april. it will be nice to get promoted as ill see a 2 sided football match. instead of 1 parking the bus. but as some one says the price of unexpected success

I thought last night against a team worth tens of millions we played it about better and looked like a better side than when we played Bury at home last season in similar circumstances.

Football is weird.

Dead easy! You put a plan together to counter centre halves overlapping wing backs. You then put a man in the right half position to stop the left wing back and another in the inside left position to cover the right wing back. Unless the other centre half is overlapping. You let a centre half follow one of the centre forwards out to the wing and fill the gap with the same man who's marking the left back in the inside right position and then pull another midfielder in to cover the two spare midfielders, one who's deep and the other who's now moved into the number 10 position. As for the number 10, you get another midfielder, or maybe a full back who's also covering the wingback, who's been overlapped by the centre back and...............

See, I told you it was easy:)

All you need then is a zone mano_O

Or two;)

You can't believe what's happening now ? You should be able to, since you forecast it when a sizeable number on here were shitting themselves about this big scary Championship and desperately hoping we could cling on by the skin of our teeth.

expectation undoubtedly could be our undoing.

It's a great time to be a blade but I can see on this forum alone from numerous threads the expectation is rising. People asking if we can make play offs or get promoted. We are doing fantastic and for me we have just got to go for the ride, whatever happens, happens. But I fear some will start to expect us to be competing at the top and won't be so forgiving if and when that difficult patch comes where we pick up a few losses.

Depends on your aspirations but if you're looking towards the playoffs, rather than just staying up, then it's up to us to be good enough to break teams down at home when they sit with 10/11 men behind the ball. We were last night, that first half was one of the best Wilder performances I've seen.

That's exactly what people were saying last year...and that "difficult patch" never even turned up. I'm not saying it won't but I'm saying it might not

Great, is it not, that after two convincing wins (one against a quality La Liga side, the other against a bunch of players more interested in hunting for truffles) we have those strikers hoping to get their starting places back?

After 10 games I reckon other teams will know all about us...but my Wolves supporting mate (very complimentary about us by the way after the performance last night) sent me this:
I wonder when other teams will realise that you are playing a short-passing game (Dave Bassett will be having nightmares :-)) and start pressurising you as they do us ?

Repect is earned!! and I think United is a great expample currently. We are earning respect, teams are starting to see us more of a threat and not a easy target.
We are doing outstandingly at the moment, Wilder and the team desever the respect.

Because only one Like is allowed
