Ref made a couple of iffy calls but he was generally good.
The lads just couldn’t handle the pressure today against a decent team that played well.
Still a lot of football to go but not sure we have the wherewithal to make autos tbh.
Although hopefully it’s good to get this game out the way and be back to being underdogs again.

We just don't seem to be able to handle the pressure when we get into the top two places.

Mind u, it was always gunna be a tough game for us today, decent opposition and first game back after an international break when we are always wank.

Dust yourselves down and go again..it ain't over yet. Only 2 point off now, but we need to get back to winning ways pretty damned quick.

Bristol City were excellent today. Pressed us high up, well all over the pitch actually and took Norwood out the game completely. Fair play to them, totally deserved.

United looked very lethargic after we scored the opener, bizarre really as I thought we’d be well up for this one! Rusty is how I’d describe it which is ridiculous considering the season is nearly over!

They were the better side full stop

Just need to dust ourselves down and keep our nerve. Next week is huge now because we can't afford to go 5 points behind with 6 to play.

Teams press Norwood and we struggle. We have to go long then and then it's a struggle. Wednesday did the same.
This.

But we don’t HAVE to go long. Not at all.

The solution in this scenario is, as unpopular as this will be, substituting Norwood.

From my perch, there was a clear and obvious case for doing so today !!

UTB

Didn’t think they pressed Norwood at all today. Many a time he was in space and time with the ball with no options in front of him. He was off form today though, gave the ball away many more times than usual.

If anything they flooded the wings expecting our overlaps and had 4-5 men back including the useless big lad upfront to negate our overloads and quick throw ins where we get behind teams.

Also thought we were woeful in midfield today, movement, work ethic and passing were abnormally atrocious. We gave possession away so cheaply and didn’t move enough to offer options resulting to lumping it up too.

Hogans goal came against the run of play and masked poor performances across the park.

Worst thing to happen was score early, we could have pushed on and put them under pressure, if we'd done that for the following half an hour and got a second goal it could have killed them off, but instead we chose to be Sheffield United of yesteryear, thought we'd win and tossed it off.

The team allowed Bristol to have the ball without any pressure, they stroked it about, got into the game and created a few chances
We gave a team lacking in confidence everything they needed to rebuild it.

It's more like the Sheff Utd big pressure game sit back and worry about losing tactic, rather than press the advantage.

We’ve probably not been at our marauding best for half a dozen games now. Where we’ve played our game and really dominated the opposition. But we’ve been playing effectively and picking up wins.

Today was poor.

Dowell is no substitute for Duffy when we’re trying to control games and build moves in the final third. And without Madine available too, we didn’t really have a Plan B when Bristol managed to nullify us.

It’s really disappointing to lose at home and the swing with Leeds picking up 3 points means it’s going to be difficult now to wrestle back control. But it is doable. We both go to the same grounds in our next two games, we will know a lot more about our credentials after that.

Why oh why are we so poor after international breaks?

Pathetic blaming the ref. They wanted it more
Pathetic saying that they 'wanted it more.' Both teams wanted it just as much as each other. They shaded it in a five goal game.

It's an opinion - not sure that makes it pathetic?

They won more 50-50's and showed more desire. They had more of the ball and more chances for an away side and were more aggressive than us with and without the ball hence why I felt they 'wanted it more.' Quite a few or ours did not match their intensity. It happens. We have been great but today they were better and deserved to win. Not sure they shaded it. I felt they were quite a bit better than us.

If we replicate that level of performance for the final 7 we will lose more than we win. I don't think we will though and expect is to nounce back.

After the Leeds game the 2nd auto spot was ours to lose, Today we did.

Not our usual up tempo game it was played at a walking pace.
Played like some where still in Spain. The players involved in the internationals for 2 games get a pass.Shake it off and have a real go at Preston we usually bounce back well after a loss.Wish we could after a break it always kills our momentum,we come back in a walking coma.
